Noel Ritchey Bailey
FORT WORTH -- Noel Ritchey Bailey, MD, 85, a retired obstetric and gynecological physician, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 4 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial: Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: Friends are invited to call at his late residence from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Noel Ritchey Bailey was born July 4, 1912, on a farm near Peru, Ind.

He graduated from Indiana University with a BA in 1933 and an MD in 1937. He married Elaine Dewey in 1935. He completed his first year medical residency at the University of Texas Medical Center and his second year at Indiana University.

Dr. Bailey came to Fort Worth in 1941 where he was an OB/GYN for 30 years. He was a captain in the Army during World War II. He was active in ranching in Aledo and was a member of the Hereford Associations.

He married Kay Church in 1991 and was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church. He was an avid supporter and contributor to TCU and in 1994 was named an honorary alumnus. He served on the board of directors of National Farm Life Insurance Co. for 50 years and was on the staff at Harris Hospital.

Dr. Bailey was a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society, the Texas State Medical Society, the Southern Medical Society, Texas, the Association of OB/GYN and the American Medical Association.

Survivors: Wife, Kathryn Church Bailey; children, James Noel Bailey and his wife, Sandra, of Fort Worth, Barbara Bailey McNeal and her husband, J. Patrick, of Omaha, Neb., Dr. John Mark Church and his wife, Beverly, of New Orleans and Christopher J. Church and his wife, Joan Allen, of Arlington; ten grandchildren; and sister, Bernice LeMaster of Indianapolis.

Jerald Benningfield was born Jan. 18, 1947, in Eunice, N.M.

He had served in the armed forces and was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors: Son, Devey of Richland Hills; daughter, Brooke Michelle Hanson of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jeremy, Christen, Jared and Carley; brother, Eugene of Blanco; sisters, Billie Cline and Peggy Lee, both of Albuquerque, and Doris Lee of Denver City.

Henry W. Carney was born Feb. 1, 1919, in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was a Baptist and a retired command sergeant major in the Army after 30 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 183 in Lawton, Okla., the American Legion, Eastern Star 514 and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Dorothy Carney of Benbrook; son and daughter- in-law, Donnie and Shelly Carney of Benbrook; brother, John Carney of Springdale, Ark.; sister, Florence Carney of Fayetteville, Ark.; and grandchildren, Karen and Barbara Carney.

MINERAL WELLS -- Ann Lorraine Gallagher, 90, a retired seamstress, died Thursday, July 17, 1997, at a Mineral Wells nursing facility.

Ann Gallagher was born Sept. 11, 1906, in Palo Pinto County. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells where she served as head of the Primary Sunday School Department for many years.

Survivors: Nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Rowan, Jane Snyder, Eleanor Hoffman, Bill Tucker, Richard Tucker, Jean Kimbrough, Bob Kimbrough, Mary Gafford and Mike Gallagher; and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews.
