FORT WORTH -- Jimmie Lawrence Shannon, 61, an aircraft assembler, died Monday, July 7, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Jimmie Lawrence Shannon was born June 17, 1936, in Mesquite.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 218 for 33 years, a 32nd degree Mason and member of Scottish Rite and Moslah Shrine.
He was the world's greatest father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Shannon; and a daughter, Sharon Miller.

Ferral "Moon" Snider
WHITE SETTLEMENT -- Ferral "Moon" Snider, 64, a retired office machine repairman, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at his home after a four-year battle with prostate cancer.

Ferral Snider was born March 4, 1933, in Antelope, Texas.
Moon served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the office machine repair business after 34 years. He was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He boxed while serving in the Navy, winning many trophies, including All Navy Bantam Weight and runner-up All Services. He was chosen Outstanding Boxer of the Atlantic Fleet and received the Joseph P. Kennedy Award. He boxed many years in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Golden Gloves, where he won many trophies. He was the State Runner-Up twice and Texas State Featherweight Champion in 1956.
Moon rode bareback, horses and bulls in the R.C.A. circuit. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 297, where he spent many hours playing dominoes.
Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Tommie Ruth Snider of White Settlement; son, Lewis Snider of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and John Snider of White Settlement; grandchildren, Krystal Snider of Benbrook and Justin Laird of White Settlement; and his faithful dog, Spot.

FORT WORTH -- Reynaldo Valdez Sr., 69, a machine operator, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 1997, in Minas De Barroteran, his hometown in Mexico.

Reynaldo Valdez Sr. was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Nueva Rosta, Mexico. He migrated to Fort Worth from Mexico in the 1960s and began working in the O.B. Macaroni factory Jan. 23, 1975, until the present time.
He married Luisa Maria Lopez on the 17th of March, 1962, and they bore three children. After his wife passed away in Mexico in April 1976, he permanently moved to Fort Worth with his children in 1977.
Reynaldo was a very friendly and peaceful man who always enjoyed visiting his friends and family. He will be dearly remembered and missed by his friends and by his family FOREVER.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luisa Maria Lopez.

Sandra Smith VanZandt was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Fort Worth.
After living several years in Quanah, she returned to Fort Worth where she attended school. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1948. In January, 1950, she married Khleber M. VanZandt IV.
Survivors: Husband, Khleber VanZandt IV; children, Khleber M. VanZandt V, William Frank VanZandt and Kimberly VanZandt; sister, Nancy Jones; and nine grandchildren.

Preston Wisely was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Sumner. He was a 1955 graduate of the University of North Texas. He was discharged from the Army in 1947. He was a member of South Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed community involvement.

DUNCANVILLE -- Vincent Joseph Wolf, 84, a Roman Catholic priest who retired June 5, 1983, died Monday, July 7, 1997, in Duncanville.

Rev. Msgr. Vincent Joseph Wolf was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Texarkana, Texas, to a German father and Irish mother. Msgr. Wolf grew up in a home where faith and family love were paramount. He remembered his father scattering religious pamphlets out the window of the railroad train he engineered through the east Texas country in the early part of the new 20th century.
"Once a priest, always a priest" was the motto he carried through his formative years and in the parishes he served in Tyler, Athens, Dallas and Fort Worth, where he was rector of St. Patricks Cathedral and later the builder of Holy Family Church and school. During his lifetime of priestly activities he was reknown as a bridge builder between peoples of all faiths and convictions and wore the mantle of "Love One Another" with true regard for all.
Survivors: Sister, Helen Marie Chandler of Texarkana; aunt, Helen Greene of Big Spring; and nieces and nephews.
