Estefana Herrera Lopez, 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Filiberto Perez Lopez; children, Filiberto Lopez, Jr. and wife Angela of New York, Velma Ontiveros and husband Martin of Baytown, Eustolio Lopez of Baytown, Cruz Lopez, Sr., Raymond Lopez, Sr. and wife Ethel of New York, San Juanita and husband Abel Reyes, 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at 10 a.m. There will be no funeral following, as her last wishes were to be cremated and taken to Benavides at a later time.

Billy Dean West, 67, of La Porte passed away Thursday January 29, 2009. He was born February 9, 1941 in Palasade, Colorado to Nellie Wolf Carey and Johnnie West.
He was preceded in death by wife Patsy Gene West, brothers Roy, Gene, and sister Mary Katherine. Billy is survived by wife Eva West, children Robert West and Judy of Dayton, TX, Steven West and Michelle of Henderson, TX, Becky Turpin and Lawrence of Utah, Sandra Murphy and Billy of Dayton, TX, Jason West and Leean of Dayton, TX, Michael Witherell and Jay of Henrietta, TX, Angela Cox and Bobby of Dayton, TX, sisters Lucille Baty of Newport, AR, Marie Howard of Anahuac, TX, Betty Lewis of Newport, AR, brother David West of Newport, AR, 19 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Joseph Dave Martin, Sr.
Joseph Dave Martin, Sr., better known as J.D., was born on January 12, 1925, to Dave Paul and Maggie Marian Penton Martin in Goose Creek, Texas. He went to be with the Lord January 27, 2009 at his home in Baytown. J. D. was a student at Robert E. Lee High School in 1943 when he was drafted to fight in World War II. He was stationed first in England and later participated with the United States Army in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1945. He served in the signal corp and fought in the Battle of the Bulge near Bastion, Belgium. He returned home to Goose Creek in the fall of 1945.
He was married to the former Ruby Pearl Tillery with whom he had three children: Ruby Lea, Joseph Dave Jr., and Eugene Paul. In 1946, he went to work for Houston Natural Gas, and later in the year started his 40 year career with Humble Oil & Refining Company. He first worked at the Humble docks and later he was a pipefitter, and retired as a supervisor in the mechanical division. J. D. was a long time member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church. He loved to read his Bible and always had it at his side. His other great love was hunting and fishing. He spent many weekends hunting with his lifelong friend, Billy Foster, who preceded him in death. His parents, son, Gene, brother, Marion “Jelly” Martin, sister, Gracie Lea Isaacks, granddaughter, Marilyn Maureen Martin Baugh, and great grandson, Cody Tyler Nelson also preceded him in death. J. D. Martin is survived by his wife, Ruby Pearl Martin; daughter, Ruby Lee Martin; son and daughter-in-law, J. D. and Janice Martin; grandchildren, Victoria and David Banks, Kristeane and Raul Benevides, Gregory Martin, Bill Bardin, and Sunny Martin. Great grandchildren are Allison Brooke Martin, Darian Nelson, Mary Isabelle Giangrosso, Joyakay Julianna Giangrosso, Joshua Caleb Baugh, Maura Colene Baugh, and Alyssa House.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Chapel with Rev. R. C. Tillery and Rev. Ray Tillery, brother-in-law and nephew of Mr. Martin, officiating. Rev. Franklin McCorkle will be Honorary Pastor. Memorial donations may be made to the Baytown Walk for Life. Janelle Milner
Janelle Milner, 86, of Baytown passed away peacefully early Thursday, January 29, 2009, at a Baytown healthcare facility. She was born on November 17, 1922, in Pelly, Texas, to John and Cecile (Daigle) Beaugh. Mrs. Milner was a 1940 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a member of The Brigadiers. She married the late Edward Milner in 1941, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to travel with her sisters, and together they explored Tahiti, the British Isles, Alaska, and Nova Scotia and enjoyed many wonderful times. She was also well known for her chicken and rice gumbo, which was a favorite at all family get-togethers.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward Milner, and a brother, Bruce Beaugh; Mrs. Milner is survived by two sons and their wives, Stanley and Suzan Milner, of Baytown and Dr. Larry and Kathy Milner, of Pasadena; one daughter, Jan Hanson and husband, David, of Baytown; three sisters, Nettie Hurr, Neva Casey and Johnnie Clayton; six grandchildren, Chad Milner, Kevin Milner, Michael Milner, Sheryl Younger, Leslie Nagelmueller, and John Hanson; seven great grandchildren, Quinton Simons, Ian Milner, Chloe Milner, Henry Younger, Jordan and Kyle Nagelmueller and Madison Hanson; and numerous other friends and family who will miss her deeply.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels. A Service of Remem-brance will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Deacon John Singer, officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Leotha Hood Boyd, 67, departed this life on Sat. January 24, 2009 at 12:45 p.m. She was raised in New Roads, La. but she later moved to Barret Station, TX. where she lived until her demise.
She leaves to cherish her memories 5 children: Carolyn, Eric (Rose), Sylvia (Larry), Pamela (John), and Jerome, One Brother Matthew (Bernice), Sister: Clara and sister-in-law Ida Mae. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Huey Paul Wilson was born in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana on August 28, 1930 to the late Mr. Ed Wilson and Mrs. Vallie Morris.
In 1960, he met Mrs. Rosella Edward in Liberty, Texas, and they moved to Barrett Station in 1960… there they settled.
Mr. Wilson worked at Ashland Chemical Plant in Baytown, Texas for 28 years and retired. Mr. Wilson owned and operated his own convenience store in the community of Barrett Station. He then returned to the workforce working at the Coastal Water Authority for 11 years before retiring for the second time.
He was recognized as a Mason in the State of Texas, and well known for his coveralls, caps and pipes. In the community of Barrett, many knew him as Mr. Wilson or Pig. Many couldn’t wait for his store to open because he had the biggest pickles and the best watermelons you could find for miles. Not only that… they would come just for the jokes. Mr. Wilson was a well known man in the community for his raising of hogs and fields of greens.
He began a new journey in 2006 and began working in the church and he became a Deacon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. M. Washington. Mr. Wilson had found a new smile and a glow no one could explain.
Clara K. Hunt Parrish
Clara K. Hunt Parrish, 87, of Crosby, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Triumph Hospital in Baytown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Clara was born December 11, 1921 in Chadbourn, NC to parents; Henry Clifford and Letha May Nobles Hunt. A former resident of Dayton, she has resided in Crosby for the past four years. She was a retired clerk from the Kroger grocery in Huntsville, and member of the Highlands Church of Christ. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.
Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Leon Charles Parrish, granddaughter: Jessica Ann Canady, sisters: Molly Berneice Kalles, Ethel Mae Hunt, and Ruby Mae Mongonia, and brothers: Elmer and Henry Clifford Hunt, Jr.
She is survived by her sons: Harry B. Canady and wife Delilah of Crosby and Grover Canady of Canada, sisters: Anna Ruth Edwards of Lexington, SC, Joyce Josephine Bellamy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Eula Fay Palmeri of Houston, Nina Lee Kirby of Lexington, SC and Patsy Clifford Hinson of Whiteville, NC, brothers: Rushie Hunt of Crosby, Ruie Hunt of Humble, and Billie Hunt of Charleston, NC, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hugh Wansley Nance
Hugh Wansley Nance passed away Tuesday night, January 27, 2009 at a local nursing home. He was born July 2, 1935 in Timpson, Texas to Johnie Webster and Alva Corinne (Hensley) Nance. Mr. Nance was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He loved reading his Bible.
Mr. Nance is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia Nance of Baytown; children, Gregory Nance of Baycliff, Candy Pitkin, and husband Travis of Dickinson, and Rebecca Thompson of Florida; sister, Jimmie Marie Robinson, and husband James; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Osby, and husband Jim, and Glenda Rush; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Lois Elizabeth Robson
Lois Elizabeth Robson, 87, of Baytown, passed away Monday afternoon, January 26, 2009, in a local hospital after a brief illness. Lois was born on March 29, 1921 in Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Robert E. “Bob” Robson, parents, John and Edith Offerman as well as her brother, Kenneth C. Offerman and an uncle, Leroy Larson.
At an early age, Lois and her family moved to Crosby and then to Baytown where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Lee College. She began working for Humble Oil Company and later with her husband’s optometric practice. After the birth of her son she would stay home as a homemaker.
Mrs. Robson is survived by her son, Edward Robson of Beach City; sister-in-law, Betty Offerman of Austin; nieces and nephews, Douglas Offerman and his wife Cindy of Baytown, John Miller and his wife Lynn of Austin, Robert Hargrave and his wife Jan of Houston, Norman Hargrave and his wife Tina and their daughter, Grace of Baytown, Kathy De La Vergne and her husband Hugues and their children of Dallas, Paul Hargrave of Baytown, Mary Marder of Baytown, Robert and Alex Marder of Baytown, Bill Richardson of Houston, Donnie and Corrine Richardson of Houston; cousins, Jack and Neoma Stamm of Davenport, Iowa as well as numerous friends and loving family members who will miss her deeply.
The family would like to thank Lois’ caretakers, Cecilia Simon and Mable McKnight.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2009 at St, Mark’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
