MIDLAND -- Robert Ellis Hendrick, 90, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, in Midland.
Funeral was Monday at Ellis Funeral Home. Burial: Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

Robert Ellis Hendrick was born April 12, 1907, to Hugh and Effie Ellis Hendrick in Fort Worth. He attended Paschal High School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Boy Scouts in Fort Worth. His family were residents of Fort Worth since 1870. While in high school, he worked summers for his uncle, Tom Hendrick, on his ranches in West Texas.
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1930 with a degree in accounting. During his time with the A&M Corps of Cadets, he trained with horse and saber for military combat.
He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Fort Worth while working at Ellison's Furniture Store. On Sept. 4, 1940, he married Helen Bartholomew at First Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
Mr. Hendrick served in the last mounted Horse Calvary before the official outbreak of World War II. He also served in the Army at Fort Knox, Ky., during World War II. He returned to the service during the Korean War and retired from the Army in 1955.
He retired from Shell Oil Co. in Midland. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hendrick was preceded in death by his wife on July 15, 1982.

Elverson of Houston, Susie H. Nelson of Charleston, S.C., and Jean H. Palmer of Chicago, Ill.

Wilma E. Hodshire
ALVARADO -- Wilma E. Hodshire, 51, a registered nurse, died Saturday, June 28, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Episcopal in Alvarado.
Wilma Hodshire was born Nov. 26, 1945, in Glasgow, Scotland.
She was educated in Scotland where she earned a State Registered Nurse Degree and completed midwife school in London. Wilma was recruited to the United States by Harris Hospital in 1970. She was a nurse in the neo-natal intensive care department at various hospitals.
Survivors: Husband, Robert Hodshire; son, Iain Hodshire of Arlington; mother, Margaret Spalding of British Columbia; mother-in-law, Susan McDonald of Fort Worth; sister, Eileen Lennox of British Columbia; and grandchildren, Ashley Hodshire and Bryan Hodshire.

John Joe Huff
ARLINGTON -- John Joe Huff, 71, retired from the city of Arlington and Pinkerton Security, died Monday, July 7, 1997, in Grand Prairie.

John Joe Huff was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Vickery Stop.
He worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Security after retiring from the city of Arlington. He had served in the Navy aboard the USS Hadley during World War II.
Mr. Huff and his wife, Martha, had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 3, 1997.

Robert E. Lee
LIHUE, KAUAI, Hawaii -- Robert E. "Bob" Lee, 74, a retired teacher, coach and vice principal, died Friday, April 4, 1997, in Lihue.
Memorials: charity of choice.
Robert E. "Bob" Lee was born in Estelline, Texas.
He graduated from TCU in 1950 with a BS and MEd.
He had served in several Pacific campaigns in World War II as a Marine gunner on the aircraft carrier Enterprise.
Mr. Lee's tenure with Fort Worth ISD included coaching at E.M. Daggett Junior High, Paschal and Southwest high schools and principalships at Stripling Middle School and Western Hills High School from which he retired in 1980.
A former resident of Ridglea, he moved to Hawaii after the death of his mother. According to his brother, Harry, Bob loved to play golf three times a day and lie on the beach.

Josie Cisneros Lopez
YERINGTON, Nev. -- Josie Cisneros Lopez, 37, a teacher, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at a Reno hospital.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Pastor Vince Szymkowiak will officiate. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Prayer service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Josie Cisneros Lopez was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Fort Worth.
She was en route to a hospital to deliver her baby boy, Victor Gabriel Acosta II, when both were killed due to an automobile accident six miles north of Yerington.
Josie was the first-born child of Ramon and JoAnn Cisneros of Fort Worth after losing a baby boy, Little Ray Cisneros Jr., who was stillborn in April 1958.
Josie was a 1978 Trimble Tech graduate whose accomplishments in her senior year included being a member of the annual staff, the student body historian, Student Government Council, Allied Youth officer and Future Teachers of America. She was a member of the Spanish Club, Office Education Association, the Science Club and the Trimble Tech Band for four years. She was elected senior class favorite, second runner-up and homecoming court duchess.
After high school, Josie attended New Mexico State University. She was a teacher at Yerington Elementary School, where she taught English as a second language to all ages. Principal John Prida and Juan Salinas conducted a memorial service for Josie on Monday, June 30, 1997.
"If Josie ever had a bad day, (I) never knew it," Prida said.
All the staff expressed their deep love and sympathy, saying it was a big loss to the school.
