Mertie Moncrief was born May 21, 1913, in Erath County.
She had lived in the Fort Worth area since 1962. She composed a number of spiritual songs and sang on Christian radio programs in earlier years. She was affiliated with Gospel Assembly and Lakeside Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. W. Ambers Moncrief in December of 1959 and four brothers.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Rendal Ray and Wilma C. Moncrief of Dublin; daughter an son-in-law, Doris Sue and Guy Nichols of Saginaw; sisters, Juanita Weathers of Laurel, Miss., Vera Morris of Big Spring; grandchildren, Joe Marciante Jr., Jewelana Sue Thomas, Marvin Moncrief, Randy Moncrief; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Louise Mummert was born Oct. 26, 1910, in Fort Worth. She was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Harry B. Mummert Jr.

Gary Newby was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Fort Worth.
He was a graduate of Burleson High School and had won many business awards. He was an avid sailor.
Mr. Newby was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. "Red" Newby, who was with the `Star-Telegram 36 years.

Mr. Parris was born March 30, 1916, in Winnsboro.
He was a member of Julian Feild, a Mason, and 32 degree Scottish Rite, and a Shriner.
He retired from Genral Dynamics after 35 years of service in 1981.

She was a member of Delta Pi Epsilon at UNT and a life member of the Ex-student Association, both at North Texas and Texas Woman's University. She was a member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ. She was also a member of Iota Iota Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, Elective Student Department of Denton Woman's Shakespeare Club and the Denton area Retired Teachers Association. She taught 38 years.

Tim Scott was born July 7, 1920, in Bowie County.
He was a long time member of Cherry Lane Baptist Church and Corina Drive Baptist Church. He was a decorated World War II veteran who received the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. He retired from Carswell AFB and was a member of DAV.

FORT WORTH -- Dorothy Robbins Cossaboon Sharratt, 77, a cashier for Montgomery Ward, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at home after battling cancer for 20 years.

Dorothy Sharratt was born June 1, 1920, in Pennsgrove, N.J. She was a cheerleader and valedictorian at Cape May High School in Cape May, N.J.. After graduation, Dorothy became the youngest City Treasurer of Cape May.
During World War II and in only three months, Dot met and married her husband of 51 years, William H. Sharratt, and bore six children. The family moved permanently to Fort Worth in 1956.
Dot was a pretty, selfless woman who always smiled. Anyone that met Dot never forgot her kind ways. With endless energy, Dot loved to cook, plant flowers and loved her children through the years. Until the time of our mom's death, she never quit smiling and telling us thank you for our efforts to comfort her. Her family and friends will miss her forever.
She was preceded in death by husband, William H. "Bill" Sharratt.
