Always a lover of flowers, growing things, people and the activities in their lives that made life more meaningful, the floral buiness was a natural for her life's work. She credited Mrs. John Morris for early inspiration, and guidance and through the influence of friends was invited to an association of study and preparation with the renowned Helen Hayes in New York City.
Returning to Fort Worth, she commissioned Hubert Hammond Crane, architect, to build an attractive colonial- styled building on West Seventh Street in the middle '40s. For decades, patrons who had an appreciation for flowers and gifts that were innovative and exceptional called upon her for the special events in their lives, births, graduations, debutante parties, weddings, anniversaries and deaths. Her good taste and finely tuned manner made her a leader in the floral industry, respected by her peers. Her influence continues in the business that today still bears her name.
