FORT WORTH -- James Richard Smith, 78, a retired electrical engineer and manager, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Gene Craig will give the eulogy. Burial: private. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

James Richard Smith, son of the late Tom Willie and Mary Irene Jones Smith, was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Bell County.
He had resided in Fort Worth since 1975 and had been an electrical engineer and manager of fabrication for SIE Wireline Products, Fort Worth operation. Mr. Smith was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army. He graduated from Texas A&M University and was a member of the Unitarian Church. Mr. Smith was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
He was preceded in death by his brother, T.W. Smith Jr.
Survivors: Wife, Mary Ruth Smith; son, Richard Wayne Smith of Baytown; daughter, Sharon Meek and her husband, Richard Wayne, of Fort Worth; brother, Odell Smith of Midland; sisters, Clairene Deaver and Eloise Wilson, both of Belton; grandchildren, Mechelle Craig, James R. HALTOM CITY -- Lydia Lorabell Stallings, 75, a homemaker, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, in Haltom City.

Lydia Lorabell Stallings was born April 19, 1922, in Clarksville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cuen D. Stallings.
"Mamaw" touched the lives of everyone she met. She always placed her family before herself. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, unselfish giving, strength, courage and wisdom.

Larry Don Woodard was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Calvert. Son of Ira and Estella Nelson Woodard, Larry came to Fort Worth and settled as a youngster. He attended the public schools here, graduating from I.M. Terrell High School. He was baptized and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the Rev. W.L. Brown, and later in life united with Fellowship Baptist Church under the Rev. D. Evans.
Larry worked as a printer for American Bank Stationery several years before he was disabled. He enjoyed beautifying his yard and made sure his lawn was always picture-perfect. His love for the music of the 1970s and for western movies and dominoes was legendary among friends and family. Larry also loved fashionable attire.

Harry A. Allen was born May 2, 1926, in Athens, Texas, and was raised in Palestine, Texas.
He was an Arlington resident for 43 years. A loving husband and father, he will be remembered as being very active in serving the Lord and caring for others. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ and had many others he loved at other congregations in Arlington. He was a World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lura Bishop of Palestine, and half sister, Gladys Lane of Dallas.

Elgin Anderson was born Jan. 2, 1914, in Villa Grove, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star and Silver Star. He was stationed in India.

MANSFIELD -- Robert Lee Anderson, 72, an educator for the Mansfield Independent School District who retired in 1995, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at an Arlington hospital.

Robert Lee Anderson was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Hurst. He was a member of Arlington Community Church and was Mansfield Citizen of the Year in 1997. He married Corrine Pylant July 30, 1953, in Arlington. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Next to his family, students were his life. He spent 50 years in the education field, 48 in the Mansfield ISD. He was the 14th teacher hired in the Mansfield ISD. He announced the Mansfield football games for 33 years, before the stadium was named in his honor in 1989. Over the years, he was honored with many awards and achievements, and had a number of military academy appointments. Throughout his teaching career, he taught students who entered every occupation.

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Ruby Jewel Baldridge passed away Monday, June 30, 1997, in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Ruby Jewel Baldridge was born June 4, 1912, in Dundee, Texas.
Jewel began her career in 1951 with General Dynamics, presently known as Lockheed Martin of Fort Worth. In 1976, Jewel retired and moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., to be near her daughter, Shirley. She was previously a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fort Worth.
In addition to her parents, David Ezra and Josephine Phillips, Jewel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Taft Baldridge, and two brothers, Loyd F. Phillips and James N. Phillips.
