Mrs. Helton was born April 7, 1900, in Cottondale. She was the last surviving child of 12 children born to Alex and Daley Coffman. She lived most of her life in the Cottondale-Paradise communities, moving to Fort Worth in 1993. She was a member of the Paradise Church of Christ. Her husband, Edgar C. Helton, preceded her in death in 1969.
