FORT WORTH -- Vivian Adams Sone, 89, the widow of Dr. Law Sone who was former president of Texas Wesleyan University, died Saturday, June 28, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Vivian Sone was born Aug. 22, 1907, in Springfield, Ill. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, an honorary life member of the Woman's Club of Fort Worth, and a patroness of Sigma Alpha Iota. In addition, she was a former Alumna of the Year at Texas Wesleyan University and a member of the Women of Rotary.
Survivors: Sons, Dr. Law Sone Jr. of Dallas and David Sone of Houston; daughter, Beverly Elbert of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.

William O. "Bill" Wade
ARLINGTON -- William O. "Bill" Wade, 79, a retired Bell Helicopter dispatcher, died Sunday, June 29, 1997, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
William O. "Bill" Wade was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Batesville, Ark. He married Irma Roberts on Aug. 14, 1941, in Hugo, Okla.
Mr. Wade retired from Bell Helicopter on June 29, 1979, after 26 years' service. He then worked for the Arlington school district for 11 years in special education as a bus attendant, retiring in May 1990.
He was a World War II veteran, entering military service in November 1940. He served in the National Guard in Paris, Texas, 132nd Field Artillery. Later he was transferred to the military police platoon, 36th Division, in Brownwood in February 1941. He remained with this until receiving his honorable discharge in July 1945.
Mr. Wade served overseas for 27 months. Battle campaigns he served in included Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, southern France, central Europe and Rhineland. He received five Bronze campaign medals, one Bronze Arrowhead, the American Distinguished Service Medal and the Unit Badge.
In civilian life, he was active in the Boy Scouts and in the Arlington Radio Club since 1962. He received several Ham of the Year awards and president's awards for distinguished service. He was also a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cecil Wade and Edith Virginia Cypert Wade, and his brother, Cecil E. Wade.
Survivors: His wife, Irma Roberts of Arlington; son, Phillip Charles Wade and his wife, Wendy, of Lexington, S.C.; grandchildren, Karen Diane Wade Bush and Laurie Ann Wade Lindner; great- grandchildren, Cory Wade and Haley Breann Lindner; and several nieces and nephews.

CENTERVILLE, Utah -- Jean Starkweather Bernard passed away Sunday, June 22, 1997, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 75.
Memorial service was held June 25 at Bountiful Community Church in Bountiful, Utah. Her ashes will be scattered in the high mountain pond with those of her dear daughter, Barbara.

Jean Starkweather Bernard was born June 14, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the only child of William Bryant and Gertrude Carmen Weeks Starkweather.
She graduated from Port Washington High School and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She gave up a potential acting career to marry and raise her family. She was a member of Bountiful Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Barbara Gail Williams.
