Robert Swanson Harvey
DALLAS -- Robert Swanson Harvey, 78, who was retired from the military and in the insurance field, died peacefully, Sunday, June 29, 1997, at home after a five-month struggle with cancer.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Burial: Restland Memorial Park.

Mr. Harvey was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Superior, Neb.
He moved to California in 1929, where he graduated from UCLA with a bachelor of science in business in 1940. He was a Levere member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
Mr. Harvey served in the U.S. Army infantry in the Asiatic-Pacific Defense Command for almost three years, commanding and training ski troops in Alaska. He returned to Camp Walters where he met and married Suzanne Rieker of Fort Worth. He attended Staff and Command School at Fort Levenworth, Kan., attaining the rank of major at the end of his service.
Mr. Harvey was in fire, casualty and property insurance in Dallas from 1946 to 1988, beginning with Aetna Casualty. He worked for AFIA in New York before returning to Dallas to purchase his own agency. He later joined Ligon, Gump and Ligon as a partner, evolving later into Sedgwick James of Texas, Inc.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the Dallas Rotary Club and was one of the first members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry. He served on both the school boards of Ben Franklin Middle School and Hillcrest High School, and was one of the first members of Royal Oaks Country Club.
Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Suzanne Rieker Harvey; daughters, Ann Elizabeth Harvey of Houston and Katherine Carseyof Fort Worth; son, Robert Buchanan Harvey of San Antonio; grandsons, Steven Brett Carsey, William Harger Carsey and Robert Rieker Carsey, all of Fort Worth; and granddaughter, Robin Lynn Harvey of San Antonio.

Maurine Evelyn Powell Howell was born June 16, 1914, in Iredell.

HALTOM CITY -- Earl Jean Jeter, 67, a minister, died Saturday, June 28, 1997, at a North Richland Hills hospital.

Mr. Jeter was born June 21, 1930, in Fort Worth.
He was saved and started preaching the Old Time Gospel of Christ at the age of 15, following in the steps of his father and mother.

Victoria Ware Jones was born June 17, 1906, in Duffau to a sharecropper. She picked cotton on the farm as a child. Having strong convictions to her God and family, she was able to live at home until her death at 91 years old. She lived a full life, always willing to share a humourous story with others. She was an active member of the Haltom City Senior Citizens Center. She outlived her three children, Aubrey Ware, Herschell Ware, Camillia Ware, and two marriages, Bruce Ware and Mace Jones. Victoria lived a full life. She was a member of Oak Knoll Baptist Church in Haltom City for more than 50 years. Our Nanny will be missed by many, but forgotten by none. She has touched many lives during her 91 years with us.

FORT WORTH -- Anthony Lyon, 97, who retired as a public accountant at the age of 81, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at home.

Anthony Lyon was born Nov. 11, 1899, in Louisville, Ky. He worked for the Inernal Revenue Service in Dallas and transferred to Fort Worth in 1943. He set up his own public accounting firm. His hobbies were scuba diving at Possum Kingdom Lake, his boat, fishing and swimming. He was a lifetime member of the Inland Diver's Association.

Lewis E. Milburn was born Oct. 3, 1911, in Marshall. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Louisianna, the former president of the Texas Railway Association and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth. He was a retired superintendant of the mechanical department with Missouri-Kansas and Texas railroad. The last 10 years he worked with Dido elementary school in Arlington, as a crossing guard.
