Mary K. Nusom
SAN ANTONIO -- Mary K. Nusom, 83, a longtime San Antonio resident, died Thursday, June 26, 1997, at a San Angelo nursing home.
Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio.
Memorials: in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Mary Nusom was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Temple, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Kirk.
Mrs. Nusom was a teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District 32 years. Her entire teaching career was at Thomas A. Edison High School where she taught journalism many years, having taught the same age group and class level.
She sponsored the high school yearbook and newspaper, the first printed newspaper at Edison. She later became the coordinator of vocational office education, a position she held until her retirement in 1980.
Mrs. Nusom was also a member of several educational organizations, local, state and national, including the American Association of University Women and the Ol' Shavano Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. For many years she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Esther Sunday School Class and Trinity Women's Association. Mrs. Nusom enjoyed outdoor activities. She and her husband played golf many years at Oak Hill Country Club and she also spent many hours working with flowers and plants, one of her favorite hobbies.
Mrs. Nusom was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lon L. Nusom, who died last month. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, J.B. Kirk and William T. Kirk Jr.
Survivors: Son, Dr. Thomas R. Reid and his wife, Kayra, and their two children, Alex and Josh, all of San Angelo; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Reid of Dallas; and several nephews and cousins out of state.

Ekaette G. Obadiah
FORT WORTH -- Ekaette G. Obadiah, 47, a beautician, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Mayfield Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Wake: 7:30 p.m., contact family for location.
Ekaette Obadiah was born Jan. 12, 1950, in Ikot Ntuk, Nigeria. She was a homemaker, beautician and mother of six who loved her kids and the Lord more than anything else.
Honors: "The greatest mother in the entire world!!!" She lived a full life.
She was the widow of Rev. George Obadiah.
Survivors: Sons, Gideon G. Obadiah, Uduak G. Obadiah and David Obadiah; daughters, Flora G. Obadiah, Iniobong G. Obadiah and Janet G. Obadiah; mother, Nne James of Nigeria; and grandson, Joshua U. Obadiah.

Joe David Peden
ARLINGTON -- Joe David Peden, 46, an airline employee, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Joe David Peden was born March 11, 1951, in Lubbock.
Joe grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Southwest High School in 1969. He graduated from UTA in 1975 and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He worked for American Airlines for 22 years and made his home in Arlington.
Survivors: Wife, Michelle of Arlington; children, Patrick, Lauren and Andrew; parents, Jim and Norma Peden of Fort Worth, sister, Debbie Manley of Burleson; brother, Mike Peden of Austin; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

William H. Rokey
FORT WORTH -- William H. Rokey, 81, a retired clerk, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, at a local hospital.

William Rokey was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Fort Worth. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth. He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired in 1966. William was a World War II veteran and a member of the V.F.W.

Loveta Stovall was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Gainesville, Texas. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and UTA. She was an English teacher at Arlington High School for 24 years. She was a very devoted, caring daughter, mother, wife, sister and teacher. She touched everybody in a positive way she came in contact with. She was a person who made the world a better place.

David Teddlie was born April 30, 1946, in Fort Worth. He was a member of Harwood Terrace Baptist Church. He was devoted to his family. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed away at his home.
