She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Meadows.

KEMP -- Walter D. Nevil, 60, a retired postal carrier, died Friday, June 20, 1997, at home.

Pallbearers: Kevin Nevil, David Nevil, Michael Nevil, Christopher Hobbs, Jeremy Shepherd and Jason Shepherd. Mr. Nevil was born Oct. 27, 1936, in Pike to Otis and Jewell Davis Nevil, and previously lived in Mansfield. He entered military service at 17 and received an honorable discharge 12 years later. He worked for U.S. Postal Service for 31 years. He was a member of Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City.
His greatest and most prized blessing other than his personal relationship with Jesus Christ was his two precious children, DeAnna and Steve. The greatest decision he ever made was in April 1992, when he made God the most important thing in his life. God revealed to him what was missing in his life: "To love God with all of my heart and to love others as Jesus loved me," which produced peace and joy that he had never known before.

James Joseph Romanchek
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- James Joseph Romancheck, 52, a retired Air Force officer, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 1997, in Colorado Springs.

Col. Romanchek was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Hazelton, Pa., to Cyril and Rose (Stefanko) Romanchek. His mother survives in Fort Worth. He later married Joan Spain at Langley Air Force Base on June 10, 1967. Joan lives in Colorado Springs.
Col. Romanchek achieved the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters. He was an avid Notre Dame alumni and supporter, auto racing enthusiast, and was a commander of the Space and Warning Systems Center.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father.
Survivors: Also include two daughters, Jennifer Price of Laredo, Carrie Hiller of Boulder, Colo.; son, Michael Romanchek of Notre Dame, Ind.; three sisters, Roseanne Romanchek of Fairborn, Ohio, Maryann Testa of Fort Worth, and Kathy Atkinson of Norfolk, Va.; brother, Ronald Romanchek of Dallas; and a grandchild.

Ruth Rush was born Sept. 4, 1911, in Clay County.
Mrs. Rush received her nursing degree in 1934 from West Texas Hospital Nursing School. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Everman. She was a school nurse for the Everman School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Garrison B. Rush on Feb. 8, 1994.
Survivors: Son, Dr. John B. Rush of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Mary Kay Neeley of Arlington; and four grandchildren.
