CLEBURNE -- Alice E. Daniels, 94, a retired self-employed cosmetologist, died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at a Benbrook nursing center.

Graveside service: 4 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Alice E. Daniels was born May 9, 1903, in Newport, Ark. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Cleburne. She was the widow of M.L. Daniels Sr.

Survivors: Son, O.V. Eary of Fort Worth; daughter, Alisha Crews and her husband, Bill; stepson, M.L. Daniels Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Austin; stepdaughter, Margie Finstad and her husband, Alan; stepdaughter, Billie Mayes and her husband, Buck; son-in-law, L.T. Pike; granddaughters, Kelly Robison and Nancy Steppick; great- grandchildren, Patrice and Coty Pike, Rachel and Jamie Robison and Molly Steppick.

Dorris Jeanne Elam
BEDFORD -- Dorris Jeanne Elam, 71, a retired psychologist, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at home.

Memorial service: A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 1997, at First Jefferson Unitarian Church, 1959 Sandy Lane in Fort Worth.

Memorials: Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth, 4401 Trail Lake Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76109.

D.J. was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Belleville, Ill. She lived most of her life in Fort Worth, receiving her master's degree at TCU. She worked at Easter Seals Society, Expanco Training Center and, after retiring, at the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth and Connections Bookstore.

D.J. treasured her family and many friends as her greatest gifts in life. In the spirit of giving, she has donated her body to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Survivors: Husband, Claude B. Elam of Bedford; daughters, Claudia Tanseer of Greensboro, N.C., and Valerie Armstrong of Bedford; and her beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Tracy and Diana.

FORT WORTH -- Manuel Garza Sr., 51, a supervisor, died Thursday, June 19, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 7 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Ila May Hendricks
ANDERSON, Ind. -- Ila May Johnson Hendricks departed this life Sunday, June 15, 1997, in Anderson. She would have celebrated 91 years this October.

Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Flatwood Cemetery in Eastland County, Texas.

Ila May Johnson Hendricks was born in Eastland County, Texas, but spent most of the last 30 years in Indiana. She was affiliated with the Church of God where she had fostered many dear friendships.

Ila joins her husband, June K. Hendricks, who preceded her, on what would have been his 96th birthday. Others awaiting included sons, Matthew Farris Hendricks and Norris K. Hendricks; grandson, Doyle Glen "Bo" Hendricks; parents, Matthew P. and Francis Etta Honea Johnson; six sisters; four brothers; and other relatives and friends.

Survivors: Brother, Finis L. Johnson of Eastland; sister, Zelma L. Bergh and her husband, Joe, of Corning, Calif.; son, Jimmy Hendricks and his wife, Shirley, of Fort Worth; daughters, Reba J. Boyer and her husband, John, of Mount Vernon, Ill., Annetta Wright and her husband, Gehl, of Muncie, Ind., and Gracie Suko and her husband, John, of Anderson; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren, in various states, each one loved very dearly.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche.

Evelyn Rutherford Howell was born was born June 29, 1893, in Comanche County. She was a Methodist and a member of the Downtown Bible Class of Brownwood. She graduated from Comanche High School. She attended Howard Payne College and studied cosmetology in New York and at the University of Texas. Survivors: Nephews, Elmo W. Dutton and H.G. Wilson; and nieces, Madele Hawkins, Florence McDaniel and Louise Hicks.

Ronald Muriel King was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Lubbock. He was a former resident of Santa Fe, N.M., and had lived in Granbury for 11 years.

Bruno Martinez was born May 17, 1908, in Mexico. He worked for the Cotton Belt Rail Road from 1926 to 1973 and retired after 46 years of service. Bruno Martinez was married to Jerome Ramirez on June 24, 1947. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 24, 1997.

Survivors: Wife, Jerome Martinez of Fort Worth; sons, Fred T. Ramirez of Seattle, Wash., Bruno C. Martinez Jr. of Arlington and Daniel Robert Martinez of Fort Worth; daughters, Betty Pinales of Dallas and Helen Tucker of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
