Leroy Kilgore
Leroy Kilgore, 61, of Crosby, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on the eve of Christ’s birth December 24, 2008. Leroy was born on February 14, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Robert Lee and Lillian (Walker) Kilgore. Leroy has lived in the Crosby area all of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crosby. Leroy worked as an operator in the petrochemical industry and in his spare time he enjoyed reading, woodworking, camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. Leroy was a very kind hearted man who had a good sense of humor and will be missed by all that knew him.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Lillian Kilgore, sister Lillian Estelle Anderson and sister Robbie Lee Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Sandra Kilgore, son Bryan Kilgore, daughter Kari Kominek, daughter Angie Black and husband Doile, granddaughter Karson Kominek, granddaughter Megan Black, brother Gene Kilgore and wife Linda, sister Nancy Stiles and husband Gerald, brother John Kilgore and wife Jan, aunt Agnes Walker, mother-in-law Nell Salinas Cobb, brother-in-law Mark Anderson, brother-in-law Joe Harris, brother-in-law Danny Salinas, sister-in-law Judy Elliott, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 5-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2008 10am at First Baptist Church in Crosby, Texas with burial following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington, Texas. Pauline Katribe Nichols, 98, a born again Christian, went to be with Jesus December 24, 2008.
She was born October 26, 1910 in Victoria, Texas and was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Nichols was a resident of St. James House for the last 11 years and we extend heartfelt thanks to their staff for all their loving care and attention.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2008 at Cedar Crest Cemetery.

Leo Edward Wotipka, Jr., 71, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Thursday, December 25, 2008. No Services are planned at this time. Leo was born August 24, 1937, in Baytown, Texas. Fred "Hollis" Latimer
HURST -- Fred "Hollis" Latimer, 87, went to be with his Lord and his lovely wife on Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Funeral: 2 P.M. Sunday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst. Graveside service: 12 Noon Monday at Emory City Cemetery in Emory. Visitation: 4-6 P.M. Saturday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst. Hollis was born February 21, 1921 in Nacogdoches, TX to the late James and Rosa Latimer. He grew up in the area of Joaquin, TX. After serving in the United States Air Force, he graduated from SFA with a degree in business and later earned a MBA from UT.
Hollis taught at Lee Jr. College, OBU, and finished his career as head of the computer science department at Tarrant County College. Hollis was the most wonderful person you could ever want to meet. He greatly loved music and animals. He was active in North Richland Hills Baptist Church and served as the Senior Adult Choir Director and also was a member of the Kingsmen Choir. Hollis was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Thelma Batts Latimer; loving wife of 61 years, Jena Fletcher Latimer; son, George Latimer; brothers, Billy Latimer, Robert Batts, A.J. Batts, and Joe Batts. Survivors: Daughter-in-law, Rosalie S. Latimer; grand-daughter, Emily D. Latimer; "adopted" daughter, Betty Whitley and husband Jack; caregiver, Shannon Dykes; sister-in-law, Dru Latimer; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Dean Rucker; very special friends, Bob and Camilla Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Joey McAdams
Joey McAdams, 52, of Baytown was born February 7, 1956 in Franklin, LA and passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Baytown. He was a 1974 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School. He was employed by JoHann Haltermann Custom Processing as a safety supervisor, where he coordinated safety instruction, including scheduling employees to go to the Texas A. & M. Fire School. He was very handy and enjoyed building things. He coached various sports teams that his children played on over the years and was known around town as “Coach Joey”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe McAdams and is survived by his wife of 31 years, Toni McAdams of Baytown; son, Cory McAdams of Baytown; daughter, Lori McAdams of Austin; mother, Amy McAdams of Baytown; sister, Janelle McAdams Boudreaux of Baytown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Bertha Priddy of Goliad; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Butch and Ruth Priddy of Seabrook; beloved dogs, Chloe, Gizmo, Molly and Hudson; and several nieces and nephews and friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Saturday, December 27, 2008 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Hickey, Raymond Priddy, Butch Priddy, Jimmy McHugh, Thomas Clayton and Josh Volking. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Boudreaux, James Manning and Chase Currie.

Emma Drake
Emma Drake, 92, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at a local hospital.
She was born October 2, 1916 in Plantersville, Texas to her late parents, Dominic and Teresa Wagner and was a longtime resident of Baytown.
Mrs. Drake was a retired Cafeteria Supervisor from Gulf Coast Hospital after 25 years of service, attended Old River Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday School meetings and loved being around her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hollie Drake; son, Robert E. Drake; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Her survivors include: sons, Hollie Drake and his wife Wynona of Cleveland and Wyatt Drake and his wife Janie of Baytown; daughter, Ethel Hall and her husband James of Old River; brother, Jackie Wagner of Dayton; sister-in-law, Sharon Drake of Dayton and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Old River Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2008 at Navarre Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Clayton Drake, Toby Drake, Mike Hall, Doug Hall, Nolan Hall, Harrison Dentler, Charleton Yarbrough, Robey Harshaw and Dillon Drake.
