Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sandhill Cemetery in Simms.
Mary Evelyn Goodson was born Sept. 8, 1931, in Macon, Miss. She became a registered nurse in Texas, working at the Dallas VA and Harris and All Saints hospitals in Fort Worth. She became head nurse at the Postal Service's Jack Watson Station and retired 25 years later. Moving to New Boston, Mary raised emus with her late husband, Cliff, and daughter Edith.
Survivors: Daughters, Frankie Owen of Fort Worth and Edith Goodson of New Boston; brothers and sister, R.H. Shepherd of North Carolina, George Shepherd of Peoria, Ill., Herbert Shepherd of Pensacola, Fla., John Shepherd of Trinidad, Texas, Tom Shepherd of Birmingham, Ala., Warren Shepherd of Columbus, Miss., and Helen McKinney of Hope, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

ARLINGTON -- Mack Harrell, 84, a commercial salesman for Haltom's Jewelry Manufacturing, died Monday, June 2, 1997, in Arlington.

Mack Harrell was born May 17, 1913, in San Antonio. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Collins, one of the pioneer families of Arlington. Mr. Harrell was active with Meals On Wheels, delivering meals to people younger than himself.

Sue McKinney was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Decatur. She was an active member of Castleberry Baptist Church for 50 years. She was an engineering clerk at General Dynamics for 10 years and worked three years at Acme Brick. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and never met anyone without giving a smile, handshake or hug. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
