Joan Webb was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Texarkana, Ark.
She was a Fort Worth resident more than 40 years. She taught third grade at Mary Louise Phillips Elementary School and pre-kindergarten at Morningside Elementary. She was a member of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church. Mrs. Webb was also a member of several embroidery and quilting guilds.
Survivors: Husband, Victor C. Webb of Fort Worth; sons, David Webb of Mesquite, Brian Webb of Los Colinas and Kenneth Webb of Fort Worth; mother, Loutie Ryan of Texarkana; brother, Cliford Ryan Jr. of Starkville, Miss.; and grandchildren, Brandon Webb and Brooke Webb.

AZLE -- James A. Zachary, 77, a retired Georgia Pacific employee, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at an Azle hospital.

James A. Zachary was born June 3, 1920, in Wichita Falls. He attended Texas Wesleyan University, where he played football. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 25 years as a wholesale salesman of building materials and retired in 1982. He spent his retirement years on Eagle Mountain lake with his wife, Betty, who preceded him in death Dec. 28, 1995. He served on the Azle school board from 1970 to 1973. He coached PeeWee Football and Baseball for several years and was instrumental in organizing the Azle Youth Association and Stinger Field. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be truly missed.

Grace Kathleen Snare
TULSA, Okla. -- Grace Kathleen Snare, 79, a retired Monnig's Department Store employee, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at a Tulsa hospital.
Funeral: No services were held. Kathleen Snare donated her body to the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine -- Center For Research.
Kathleen Snare was born June 28, 1917, in Comanche County, Okla. She lived in Fort Worth 24 years before moving to live with family in Broken Arrow, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas D. Snare, in February 1993.

R.B. Springfield was born June 30, 1917, in Reno. He served in the Army during World War II and was a longtime deacon and Sunday school teacher at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Springfield was union president for General Motors in Arlington for several years.

Katheryne Swift was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Mineral Wells.
She worked at Fort Worth National Bank as a bookkeeper in 1941-1946. She was a member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star.

Julia Peeler Taylor
FORT WORTH -- Julia Peeler Taylor, 96, a retired teacher and principal, died Monday, May 26, 1997, at her home.

Julia Peeler Taylor died at her residence in Trinity Terrace on Monday morning, May 26. She was in her 97th year. Born on July 18, 1900, in Oklahoma Territory, she was the oldest child of Montie and Paul E. Peeler of Elk City. Her father served the city as mayor from 1928 to 1931.
Mrs. Taylor attended Oklahoma University and was a first-grade teacher and principal in Hammond, Tipton and Pawhuska, Okla., before moving to Wichita Falls in 1932. She married local retail merchant Archie Reynolds Taylor, who died in 1977.
In Wichita Falls, Julia busied herself in and out of the home. She loved cooking and made wonderful cutout cookies. Mrs. Taylor was a 50-plus year member of the Maj. Francis Grice Chapter of the D.A.R., belonged to P.E.O. and the Woman's Forum. She was active for 55 years in the First Christian Church, where she was given the honor of life deacon. Listed in the Texas Women of Distinction in 1962, she had resided in Fort Worth since 1987.
