Clarence E. Coursey
FORT WORTH -- Clarence E. "Pete" Coursey, 79, a retired civil engineer from Carswell Air Force Base, died Friday, May 23, 1997, at his home in Fort Worth.
Funeral:2 p.m. Tuesday at Park Temple Baptist Church, 2832 Townsend Drive, Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Mr. Coursey was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Bridgeport.
A special place in heaven has been created for our loving and beloved father, Mr. Clarence E. "Pete" Coursey, as he departed this life May 23, 1997. Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Coursey; three brothers, Theodore T. Coursey, Charles E. Coursey and James D. Coursey; and one sister, Mae E. Stockton. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Coursey served in the 22nd Division. He had lived with his family in Fort Worth since 1946. Mr. Coursey retired from Carswell Air Force Base in 1975. He shared a love for fishing, baseball and football with his family and friends. He was known as a kind neighbor and dependable friend. No matter what life handed him, he always had a smile on his face and a gracious word for everyone. No task was ever too hard to undertake. "Brother Pete," as he was known at Park Temple, took great pleasure in his church work, where he served actively for 46 years as a deacon and a member of various church committees. He walked the walk of a true "Christian Man." During this time, Mr. Coursey and his wife were the only surviving charter members of that congregation.
The family would like to thank the following caregivers for their special love and concern: Susan and Betty at All Saints Home Health; Julie, Sherry, Vicky, Gloria, and Bea at M.D. Anderson Network, All Saints Hospital - Fort Worth, and Glenda, Shannon, Pat, and Jim of Vitas Hospice.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Lois Coursey, Fort Worth, and their four daughters: Janice Barrow and husband, Bill of Round Rock, Linda Robinson and husband, Harold of Sanford, Colo., Sue Wallace and husband, Joe of Arlington and Deborah Morgan of Round Rock; sister, Jewelle F. Montford of Hurst; seven grandchildren, Kathy Liebenberg, Cynthia Gartman, Gary Robinson, Karen Kwok, Misty Pollitt, Duane Wallace, and Brian Morgan; and eight great- grandchildren. Mr. Coursey also leaves several nephews and nieces, including niece, Rebecca G. Coursey of his home as well as countless friends whose lives he touched and influenced over the years.

Margarette Myrick Dalton
FORT WORTH -- Margarette Myrick Dalton, 87, a homemaker, died Friday, May 23, 1997, at a local care center.

Margarette Dalton was born April 30, 1910, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church 70 years. She was a volunteer for All Saints Episcopal Auxiliary and contributed more than 4,000 hours in devoted service to the hospital.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Myrick DeForest, and sons, Arch L. "Bud" Myrick Jr. and Lawrence H. Dalton.
Special gratitude to the staff of Renaissance Park for providing a "home away from home."
Appreciation to Dr. David P. Capper and staff of Family Hospice of Fort Worth, for believing in the total care of a person, which includes body, mind and soul.

FORT WORTH -- Edward A. Fish, 74, a retired supervisor for General Dynamics, died Friday, May 23, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Edward Fish was born March 28, 1923, in Moriah, N.Y. He retired from General Dynamics after 34 years. He was a decorated Navy veteran of World War II who served from 1941 to 1947 aboard the USS Long Island and USS Bennington.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Leist, and father, Augustus.

GRANBURY -- Kermit M. Gray, 82, who was a 30-year trackman for Santa Fe Railroad, died Saturday, May 24, 1997, in Stephenville.

Mr. Gray was born June 4, 1914, in Mountain View, Ark.
He was a Baptist and lived in Hood County 73 years.

Mr. Hickey was born Feb. 25, 1917, in Alvarado, and had been an Ingram resident five years, formerly residing in Fort Worth. He was a member of Handley Masonic Lodge 1140 in Fort Worth and American Legion Post 64 in Ingram. He served in the Army in World War II. He married Vivian Mauldin on March 7, 1937, in Fort Worth. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1995.
Survivors: Daughter, Ann Martin and husband, Robert of Hurst; son, Charles K. "Mike" Hickey Jr. and wife, Evelyn of Hunt; brother, Jack Hickey and wife, Irene of Spring; six grandchildren, Diana Howard, David Hickey, James Hickey, Bill Hickey, Beck Martin and Andrew Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Blair Howard and Katherine Howard.

Lennis Barnes Hoops
CORONA, Calif. -- Lennis Barnes Hoops, 92, retired electronic technician for the Federal Aviation Administration, passed away Friday, May 23, 1997, at a Corona hospital.
Graveside service:11 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kan. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lamb- Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa. Mr. Hoops will lie in state after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: Rockwood Christian Church in Fort Worth, and may be left in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Mr. Hoops was born March 3, 1905, in Taylor County, Iowa, the son of Raby and Nora Barnes Hoops. He attended Parson's College in Bedford, Iowa. He was employed by the FAA as an electronic technician for 35 years, retiring in December 1966.
On Oct. 21, 1933, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Lee McMillen in Mission, Kan. After their marriage, they lived in Kansas City, Kan., for many years, where they jointly owned and operated Len's Market at the corner of 47th street and Belinder. In 1965, they moved to the Fort Worth area, where they resided until her death on June 25, 1992. They were privileged to share more than 58 years of married life together. Lennis later relocated to the Corona area.
He was the founder of the Side Winder for Two Club and loved collecting coins and stamps. He also served as an officer at Crown Point Senior's Club, where he enjoyed genealogy and photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, George Edward Hoops.
Survivors: Two sons, Donald Eugene Hoops of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Leonard Lee Hoops of Santa Maria, Calif.; one sister, Juanita Maxwell of Gregham, Ore.,; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FORT WORTH -- Anna "Polly" Laura Humphreys, 85, a secretary, died Friday, May 23, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Anna Humphreys was born Nov. 5, 1911, in Louisville, Ky. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. Her many interests included serving as president of Texas Insurance Women, Garden Club projects, Girls Service League and Duplicate Bridge & Womans Club. Cornbread dressing and African violets were her specialities, as well as a good game of cards. She loved her red-headed boys, "Billy & Bubby." She was and always will be "Our Gran Polly."

Mr. Johnson was born May 2, 1955, in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and had been an Arlington resident since July 1989. He was a former resident of Yuma, Ariz. He retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service. He had been employed by Texas Instruments since June 1996. Mr. Johnson was a member of the New York Avenue Church of Christ.
