Fred Peebles Woodward
LEXINGTON -- Fred Peebles Woodward, 50, an agronomist, died Friday, May 23, 1997, after an automobile accident.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial: Lexington Cemetery. Rev. Lee Lamb and Rev. Doug Baker will officiate.
Mr. Woodward was born Sept. 28, 1946 to Fred Waltmar Woodward and Ascenia Lorena Peebles in Brenham. He grew up in Lexington and was a 1965 Graduate of Rockdale High School and a 1969 graduate of Texas Christian University. He was an agronomist for the Texas Department of Agriculture and was the Director of the Seed Quality Program in Giddings.
On June 29, 1992, he and Evelyn Anne Pearson were united in marriage in Rockdale. Together, they kept homes in both Rockdale and Lexington. He was a "Man of Passions" who enjoyed tilling and keeping the soil and ranching and fishing.
Mr. Woodward was preceded in death by his father in 1949.
Survivors: Wife, Evelyn Woodward; son, Andrew Woodward; daughter, Erin Woodward, both of Lexington; step- sons, Brian and Todd Stauffer; step- daughter, Robin Stauffer, all of Rockdale; mother and adoptive father, Ascenia Lorena Woodward Underwood and Thomas R. William Adams was born Jan. 27, 1915, in Fort Worth. Mr. Adams retired after 30 years at Bell Helicopter as an instrumentation technician. He was a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Lee Adams, in 1988.
