FORT WORTH -- Donald Eugene Brooks, 50, a self-employed mechanic for more than 50 years, died Friday, May 16, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Beth- Eden Missionary Baptist Church at 3309 Wilbarger St. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Wake: 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Donald was born into life on July 14, 1946, to his loving parents, the late Sylvester Brooks Sr. and Faye Emma "Collins" Brooks in Fort Worth. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the True Light Baptist Church. He attended the Fort Worth public schools, graduating from I.M. Terrell High School. He later served his country with the U.S. Marines. Donald had a passion for auto mechanics and worked with his dad as a hobby. He continued the auto mechanics trade for more than 30 years as owner of several shops, the last one, Allied Auto Repair.
