SAN ANTONIO -- Van G. "Jack" Maltsberger, 73, passed away Monday, May 12, at his home.

Van G. "Jack" Maltsberger was born in San Antonio on Feb. 16, 1924. He was a member of U.S. Submarine Veterans World War II and was a former member of the Bexar County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and the Texas Trail Riders.
"The only strangers he knew were friends he had never met."
Survivors: His wife, Earlene Maltsberger; daughters, Vicki LaBuhn, Judy Richardson and her husband, Obie, and Dena Paciorek and her husband, Joe; grandson, John LaBuhn; granddaughters, Darlene Fisher, Elaine Warren and her husband, Dave, and Debbie Wallace and her husband, John; three great-granddaughters; one great- grandson; brother, Tay C. FORT WORTH -- Tom O. Maud, 77, a life insurance salesman, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at his home.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Tom O. Maud was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Fort Worth. He grew up in Austin, where he attended elementary, junior high and high school. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and entered the Navy in 1942 as a commissioned officer. He spent four years in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He had a long career with Aetna Life Insurance Co.
Mr. Maud was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He enjoyed a lifelong love of puppets and puppeteering.
Survivors: Aunt, Eloise Chapman of Austin; and cousins, David Chapman and Nancy Chapman-Wiese, both of Austin; and cousin, Tom Miller Jr. of Austin.

Cora Anne Scottino Mayott
ARLINGTON -- Cora Anne Scottino Mayott, 56, a hematologist, died Monday, May 19, 1977, in Dallas.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Saturday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Memorial service: noon Friday in the W.H. Bill Pierce Chapel at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. Vigil: 7 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Cora Anne Scottino Mayott was born March 13, 1941, in Dallas. She had formerly resided in Dallas and Newport Beach, Calif., and had lived in Arlington since 1955. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she taught religious education. She was involved in the Lamar High School Instrumental Booster Club and Spirit Committee. Mrs. Mayott was employed as a hematologist at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas for several years.
Survivors: Son, Ron Mayott of Fort Worth; daughter, Caroline Mayott of Huntington Beach, Calif.; parents, Paschal and Rosalie Scottino of Arlington; sister, Carolyn Scottino of Arlington; nephews, John Hilck of Arlington and Ryan Mayott of Fountain Valley, Calif.; niece, Kelcie Mayott of Fountain Valley; and brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Sande Mayott.

LOS ALAMOS, N.M. -- Billie Faye Miller, who was employed in the Meson Physics Division of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, passed away Monday, May 19, 1997, in Los Alamos.
