Norma Saenger was born Nov. 14, 1910, in Fredricksburg.
She was a member of the Sons of Hermann Dallas Lodge 022-2 and Living Word Lutheran Church in Grapevine.
Survivors: Niece, Marlin Pape of Fredricksburg; nephew, Ronald Schoenewolf; and lifelong friends, Faye Kirk and Mozelle Bryan.

Howard William Schmidt
BURLESON -- Howard William Schmidt, 89, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at home.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Burleson.
Howard Schmidt was born Dec. 22, 1907, in Topeka, Kan. He was a resident of Burleson for 13 years. He was formerly of Montana and Oklahoma. He began his career with Western Weighing, a division of Santa Fe Railroad, as a messenger boy at the age of 16. He retired as city manager for that company. He enjoyed guns, target practice, reloading and reading. He was very devoted to his family. He enjoyed traveling with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Schmidt, on June 16, 1988.
Survivors: Sons and daughters-in- law, Howard L. and Carol Schmidt of Oklahoma City and Robert A. Nita Schmidt of Corvallis, Mont.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Glen Gadbury of Burleson; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jerry D. Shumate was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Waco.
He was retired from the Air Force and had served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Shumate was past master of James V. Callan Da-Lite Masonic Lodge 1422 AF&AM in Dallas. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Moslah Shrine and past president of the Moslah Clown Unit.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She lived in Stephenville for 19 years, moving here from Gustine.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 25, 1977, and by two sons, Johnny B. Williams and Jack O. Williams.

FORT WORTH -- Willie A. "Billie" Wynne, 88, a homemaker, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Willie Wynne was born June 18, 1908, in Rosebud. She attended Texas State Teacher's College in Huntsville before moving to Fort Worth. She was a longtime member of the Loyalty Rebekah Lodge No. 166 in Fort Worth. For over 50 years she was a dedicated teacher of children at College Avenue Baptist Church.
She was a devoted wife, beloved aunt, and grandmother to "all" her children. "Baba" will be missed by her large family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick H. Wynne, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors: Sister-in-law, Polly Wynne of Fort Worth; niece, Ruth Galvan of Fort Worth; numerous other nieces and nephews; many close great-nieces and nephews, including Felicia Adams of Austin, Alex Galvan of Grapevine, Nelda Ranelle of Euless, Wanda Goode of Bedford and Martha Hill of Bryan; and many more great-great-nieces and nephews.

FORT WORTH -- Cliff Armstrong, 41, formerly of Cranford, N.J., died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, from a work related accident involving high voltage.

Cliff Armstrong was born July 19, 1955, in Cranford, N.J.
Cliff was a kind and generous man who loved life and shared himself and his love unconditionally with his wife, his family, his friends and his pets, all of whom will miss his gentle presence greatly.
The family is thankful for the immediate care given at the scene of the accident by Larry Smith and Denny Richards and the Hurst Paramedic Team. We would also like to thank the staff of the Parkland Hospital Burn I.C.U for their excellent care given Cliff during his final days.
