Martin Smith was born Nov. 20, 1906, in Wanette, Okla. He was a member of Alta Mere Baptist Church.

MESQUITE -- Josephine Terry Tosch, 78, died Saturday, May, 10, 1997.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, 807 S. Galloway in Mesquite. Burial: Mesquite City Cemetery.

Josephine Terry Tosch was born Christmas Day, 1918.
Her parents were pioneers to the Mesquite area. Mrs. Tosch's great- grandmother, Jane Lindsey, came with four children from Illinois in a covered wagon about 1850 and settled in the Edwards community. Her father, L.H. Terry, was the son of pioneer J.W. Terry. Her great-grandparents were D.P.H. and Josephine Lindsey Cartwright.
Josephine received her degree from TWU in 1940.
She and her husband, Joe, were married Aug. 11, 1944, and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1994.
Survivors: Husband, Joe M. Tosch; son, Terry Joe Tosch; daughter, Penny Britton; and grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeremy Tosch and Whitney and Benjamin Britton.

Elizabeth Tout was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Fort Worth.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Worth. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a granddaughter of Collin McKinney, who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence and for whom Collin County and McKinney were named.
She was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory and the first lady timekeeper at Convair. She had over 15,000 hours awarded for volunteering at Osteopathic Medical Center. She was a member of the National Council of Catholic Women and the screening director of Job Corps.
Survivors: Sons, Charles L. Tout and his wife, Linda, Michael A. Tout and his wife, Jennye, and Timothy J. Tout; daughters, Elizabeth Teal, Jeanie McMurtray and her husband, Charlie, Teri Jones and her husband, Ray, and Mary Osborn and her husband, Kelly; brothers, Arthur Dickerson, Leo Dickerson and Clyde Dickerson; sister, Leona Monski; 18 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
