CLEBURNE -- Joe Paul "Cotton" Hoyler, 89, a Minister and retired painter and paper hanger, died Saturday, May 10, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Martin's Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Joe Hoyler was born Nov. 5, 1907, in Cleburne. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Cleburne, and a member of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge for 67 years where he served as past Worshipful Master. He was active in the Handley Chapter of DeMolay serving as Chapter Dad in the 1950s. He was awarded the "Golden Trowel Award" in April 1997.
He was a Deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church in Yucca Valley, Calif., and was Pastor for the Homeless Mission in Indio, Calif., for 20 years. He became an ordained Minister in 1987, and was a very dedicated family man.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ora Myrtle Roberson Hoyler on Nov. 17, 1982.
Survivors: Wife, Viola M. Hoyler of Cleburne; son, Richard E. Hoyler of Willcox, Ariz.; daughters, Paula Graves of Overland Park, Kan. and Kaye Hathorn of Mansfield; brothers, Otho Hoyler of Everman and P.L. Hoyler of Dimmitt; seven grandchildren; stepson, Bill Evans of Moss Beach, Calif.; and stepdaughter, Patricia Paulan of Mantica, Calif.

FOREST HILL -- Bertha Hudson, 75, a homemaker, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Bertha Hudson was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Laurel County, Ky. She was totally dedicated to her family and church, touching thousands of hearts. She never turned anyone away. She dealt with an iron fist and a compassionate heart.

FORT WORTH -- Ever Dee Johnson Jr., 86, a retired auto transport truck driver, died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at a local nursing home.

FORT WORTH -- Earl G. Jones, 90, a retired mill wright with 35 years of service with Burrus Food Mill and five years with Central Soya, died Friday, May 9, 1997, at home.

Earl G. Jones was born Nov. 25, 1906, in Tiffin, Ohio. After his retirement from Burrus Food Mill, he worked 10 years as a nightwatchman for Tandy Corp.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Mullins, and grandson, Robert Wesley Rogers.

Iantha Kreutzer was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Huntsville.
She worked as a sales clerk for the Base Exchange at Carswell Air Force Base and retired after approximately 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Kreutzer in December 1994.

Albert C. Lewallen was born Nov. 24, 1923 in Abilene.
He served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction for 40 years until his retirement.

Myrtle Tucker Martin
FORT WORTH -- Myrtle Tucker Martin, 93, a retired elementary teacher, died Friday, May 9, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Elder Sammy Box, pastor of Brentwood Hills Primitive Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial: private. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Myrtle Tucker Martin was born March 25, 1904, in Barton County, Mo., to Theodosia and William H. Tucker. The family moved to Star, Idaho, in 1918, where Myrtle graduated from high school and began college. After moving from Idaho in 1927, she married Robert L. Martin of Nevada County, Ark., a widower with five children. She taught school full time in addition to being a mother to these children and her own son, born in 1931. She moved to East Texas in 1942 and earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from East Texas State Teachers College. She taught school for 43 years in Idaho, Arkansas and Texas before retiring and moving to Fort Worth in 1969.
She was a member of Brentwood Hills Primitive Baptist Church, having been a Primitive Baptist for 70 years. For 40 years she contributed articles and poems that were published in church publications and she served for several years as secretary on the board of the `Baptist Trumpet.'
Survivors: Son, William Robert Martin and his wife, Dorothy, of Fort Worth; stepchildren, Evelyn Goodman of San Antonio, Howell Martin of Pleasant Plains, Ark., and Howard Martin of Piperton, Tenn.; and granddaughters, Mary Ellen Martin of Fort Worth, Elizabeth Anne Martin of Austin and Jennifer Ruth Martin of Nashville, Tenn.

Sam Meserve was born May 4, 1925, in Humboldt, Ill. He was a resident of Richland Hills for 40 years, and a graduate of Southern Methodist University. He was a member of Pantego Bible Church in Arlington. He was an electrical engineer for ESCO Elevator for 40 years, and retired in April 1997. He was a veteran of World War II, and a Navy pilot.
