FORT WORTH -- Sylvester H. Clark, 68, a machinist, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at a Haltom City nursing home.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.
Sylvester H. Clark was born June 30, 1928, in Perry, Okla., where he was raised. He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged in 1954, he made his home in California and Kansas, returning to Fort Worth in the early '80s.
Survivors: Sister and brother-in-law, Alethea and U.L. Smith of Haltom City; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen Ruth Conner was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Dallas. She had resided in Fort Worth for 60 years.
Mrs. Connor was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Connor, in 1996.

GRANBURY -- Murray Phillip Cook, 73, a retired Navy lieutenant commander, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at a Granbury hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Martin's Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: 2 p.m. Monday at Indian Creek Cemetery in Brown County. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Murray Cook was born July 10, 1923, in Breckenridge. He lived in the Acton area of Granbury, and had also lived in Longview. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander in 1985. He was also a retired claims adjuster for an insurance company.
Survivors: Son, Phillip Cook of Longview; daughters, Katherine Ann Falk of Longview and Melinda Riedweg of Kerrville; brothers, Hampton Cook of Fort Worth and Rayford Cook of Granbury; and four grandchildren.

Lloyd Falls was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Roxton. Mr. Falls learned the printing trade in Paris, Texas, and in 1936 he moved to Fort Worth, where he was employed as a linotype operator until approximately 1952. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as an Infantry Commander in New Guinea.
Mr. Falls was a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church, where the late J. Frank Norris was pastor.
Survivors: Brother, Roy Falls; sisters, Marie Box and Velma Martin, both of Fort Worth; and two nieces and two nephews.

Lillian Harris Hughes
DALLAS -- Lillian Harris Hughes, 91, an executive secretary who retired from Mrs. Baird's Bakery after 50 years, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, at a nursing home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shannon TCU Funeral Home. Burial: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Garland. Dr. William Longsworth of the Fort Worth First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Lillian Hughes was born April 26, 1906, in Garland. Mrs. Hughes had worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakery since 1925. She was promoted to head bookkeeper in 1928. She attended business school and studied secretarial subjects. In 1966, Mrs. Hughes was elected assistant secretary of the coperation of Mrs. Baird's Bakery. She held the longest service record with the company, with the exception of Mr. Baird.
Her hobbies were golf, bridge, dancing, swimming and photography. She was a past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Fort Worth, the Altrusa Club, Glen Garden Women's Golf Association, the Tanglefoot Dancer's Club and the Colony Country Club Golf Association.
Survivors: Brother, Thomas Harris of Victoria; sisters, Lora Bailey of Fort Worth and Laura Townsend of Dallas; and 100 nieces and nephews.
