FORT WORTH -- Daniel B. Austin, 88, a retired carpenter, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at a Fort Worth nursing home.

Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Ringling Cemetery in Ringling, Okla.

Daniel B. Austin was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Memphis, Texas. He had been an area resident since 1953 and was a member of North Side Church of Christ.

Survivors: Sons, Donald Austin of Fort Worth and G.W. Austin of Arlington; daughters, Betty Workman of Fort Worth, Danell Baldwin of Duncan, Okla., Hazel Arnett of Arlington and Esta Austin of Greenville, Miss.; brother, Melvin Austin of Ringling, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

Kari Noelle Brunson
FORT WORTH -- Kari Noelle Brunson, 22, a senior majoring in communications at the University of Texas at Arlington, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at a Dallas hospital from injuries received in an auto accident.

Memorial service: 3 p.m. Monday at University Park Church, 1700 Rogers Road. Burial: 11 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Kari Brunson was born May 31, 1974, in Phoenix, Ariz. She was a member of Delta Zeta.

Survivors: Mother, Donna Williams Barrett and her husband, Bruce, of Fort Worth; father, R. Tim Brunson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Fort Worth; sister, Kimberly Neidel and her husband, Richard, of Arlington; maternal grandmother, Georgie Belle Williams and paternal grandmother, Ethel Brunson, both of Wilcox, Ariz.; and fiance', Peter L. Pegg.

Robbie Byrd
ROANOKE -- Robbie Byrd, 82, a homemaker, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at a Grapevine hospital.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Okla. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Robbie Byrd was born May 8, 1914, in Paris, Texas.

She was a member of Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Byrd, in 1981.

Survivors: Son, William F. Byrd of Keller; brother, Otis Simmons of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Geraldine Griffis of Ada, Okla., and Marcella Shrout of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, William F. Byrd Jr. and Robert Andrew Byrd; and great- grandchildren, Jessica Lauren Byrd and Charlotte Constance Byrd.

BURLESON -- Henry L. Carpenter, 66, died Friday, May 2, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Henry L. Carpenter was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Fort Worth. He was employed by Miller Brewing Co. He mobilized with the 49th Armored Division and was with the National Guard for 171/2 years.

Survivors: Wife, Judy Carpenter of Burleson; son, James Anthony Carpenter of Fort Worth; brother, Bryan W. Carpenter of Arlington; and sister, Lucille Hereford of Corpus Christi.

Helen Ruth Connor was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Dallas. She had resided in Fort Worth for 60 years.

Mrs. Connor was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Connor, in 1996.

Survivors: Son, Clifford Tooley of Saginaw; daughter, Jo Ann Tallant of Blue Mound; stepson, Wayne Connor of Joshua; stepdaughter, Emily Allen of Breckenridge; brother, D.B. Stepp of Houston; sisters, Fern Hodges and Donnie Mullins, both of Fort Worth; brother- in-law and sister-in-law, O.L. and Dorothy Crouch of Granbury; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

WEATHERFORD -- Bruce Edmiston, 70, a retired automobile mechanic, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at a Weatherford nursing home.

Bruce Edmiston was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Nashville, Ark.

Survivors: Wife, Imogene Edmiston of Weatherford; daughters, Pamela Cooper of Weatherford, and Susan Johnson and Jeanette Edmiston, both of Bowie; mother, Jewel Gathright of Nashville, Ark.; sister, Mary Green of Nashville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Don Gernsbacher
HOUSTON -- Don Gernsbacher, 70, retired from music sales, died Monday, April 28, 1997, at a Houston hospital.

Graveside service: 1 p.m. Sunday in the Beth-El section of Greenwood Memorial Park.

Born in Fort Worth on Feb. 16, 1927, Don Gernsbacher was the son of Regina and Aaron Gernsbacher. He attended school in Fort Worth and graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in music, a lifelong love. Following graduation, Don gave music lessons in Fort Worth. After several years of teaching, he continued his music career in sales in Dallas and later Houston. In the last 10 years, Don had an incurable illness. This did not prevent him from being the independent person he was. He was devoted to his nieces and nephews, whom he visited at every opportunity.

Survivors: His brother, Robert "Bob" Gernsbacher and his wife, Margie, of San Antonio; and nieces and nephews, Claudia Bankler, Randy Gernsbacher and Susan Siegle of San Antonio, Janice Harrison and Jonni Meyerson of Fort Worth, Jerry Meyerson of California and Regina Meyerson of Dallas.

David Daniel Jennings
CANTON -- David Daniel "Danny" Jennings, 44, a thoroughbred horse breeder, left our world on Thursday, May 1, 1997.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park. The Rev. Don Dennis will officiate. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.

David Daniel "Danny" Jennings was born April 16, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Helen Jennings.

He will be missed very much by all his friends and family.

Survivors: Daughters and son-in-law, Shaun and Dickie Gilland and Jennifer Jennings, all of Fort Worth; brother, Richard Jennings of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Raymond Jacobson of Commerce; stepmother, Faye Jennings of North Richland Hills; three grandchildren; two nieces; and countless loving friends.

Irene Ellen Jones
ARLINGTON -- Irene Ellen Jones, 74, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at an Arlington hospital.

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 911 S. Davis in Arlington.

Mrs. Jones willed her body to Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and will be cremated.

Irene Jones was born in Charlestown, Mass., and was a 40-year resident of Arlington. She was a longtime Republican and was the precinct chairman at C.C. Duff School. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church.

married on Oct. 18, 1947, Commander and Mrs. Jones would have celebrated their golden anniversary this year.

Survivors: Husband, Commander Kendall Jones; daughters, Susan Wads- worth of Coppell and Alison Jones Allen of Fairfield, Conn.; sons, Kendall II of Dallas and Gary of Arlington; brother, James Mahoney; sisters, Dorothy Good- rich and Geraldine Bernazzani, all of Boston, Mass.; and grandchildren, Trey and Alexis Wadsworth, and Patrick and Jesse Jones.

Gene Linch was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Bosque County.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Glen Rose and had lived most of his life in Somervell County.

Survivors: Daughters, Neva Elaine Harvick and Donna Kay Dooley, both of Glen Rose; brothers, Richard Linch of Andrews, Royce Linch of Lawton, Okla., and Jimmy Linch of Fort Worth; sister, Janell Atkins of Iredell; grandchildren, Brian Harvick, Amanda Dooley and Staci Dooley; and three great-grandchildren.
