Daniel B. Austin was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Memphis, Texas. He had been an area resident since 1953 and was a member of North Side Church of Christ.

Henry L. Carpenter was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Fort Worth. He was employed by Miller Brewing Co. He mobilized with the 49th Armored Division and was with the National Guard for 171/2 years.

HOUSTON -- Don Gernsbacher, 70, retired from music sales, died Monday, April 28, 1997, at a Houston hospital.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Sunday in the Beth-El section of Greenwood Memorial Park.

Born in Fort Worth on Feb. 16, 1927, Don Gernsbacher was the son of Regina and Aaron Gernsbacher. He attended school in Fort Worth and graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in music, a lifelong love. Following graduation, Don gave music lessons in Fort Worth. After several years of teaching, he continued his music career in sales in Dallas and later Houston. In the last 10 years, Don had an incurable illness. This did not prevent him from being the independent person he was. He was devoted to his nieces and nephews, whom he visited at every opportunity.
Survivors: His brother, Robert "Bob" Gernsbacher and his wife, Margie, of San Antonio; and nieces and nephews, Claudia Bankler, Randy Gernsbacher and Susan Siegle of San Antonio, Janice Harrison and Jonni Meyerson of Fort Worth, Jerry Meyerson of California and Regina Meyerson of Dallas.

CANTON -- David Daniel "Danny" Jennings, 44, a thoroughbred horse breeder, left our world on Thursday, May 1, 1997.

David Daniel "Danny" Jennings was born April 16, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Helen Jennings.

ARLINGTON -- Irene Ellen Jones, 74, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at an Arlington hospital.

Mrs. Jones willed her body to Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and will be cremated.
Irene Jones was born in Charlestown, Mass., and was a 40-year resident of Arlington. She was a longtime Republican and was the precinct chairman at C.C. Duff School. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
