Vera Marie Bryant Pilgreen, 87, died December 24, 2007. Vera was born in Doddridge, Arkansas on March 2, 1920. Pasadena, Texas has been her home for the past 49 years. Vera was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a loving friend and a faithful member of Second Baptist Church. Vera enjoyed going shopping, eating out, traveling and visiting with friends. Vera is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, L.E. Pilgreen, parents John Vandy and Annie Lieu Jackson Bryant, brothers Rabb, Allen, Norman, and sisters Grace and Letha, dear friends Trent and Clara Ivy, and Bobby Brown. Vera is survived by her son Tommy Wayne Pilgreen and wife Lahoma Ivy Pilgreen. Grandson Todd L. Pilgreen, and wife Deborah, granddaughter Keelie R. Pilgreen Dillow and husband Andy. Vera is also survived by great-grandchildren Marshall, Devyn, and Morgan Pilgreen and Kennedi and Abigail Dillow and dear friend Peggy Brown. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Fairmont Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2007, in the chapel of Fairmont Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Naron officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park East in League City, Texas. The family wishes to thank all their friends for their support and prayers. Judy Ann Walker of Deer Park passed away January 6, 2008. She was born in Waxahachie, Tx to Rieley and Madgie Marks. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 30 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Judy loved animals and especially her bunco group.

She is survived by her husband Ed Walker; mother Madgie Marks; sons, Shannon Walker and wife, Jennifer, Clayton Walker, and Eddie Walker; daughters, Sheila Dumbeck and husband Ray, and Stacey Furgeson and husband Keith; brothers, Bruce Marks and wife Pam, Darrell Marks, and Ray Marks; and grandchildren, Keegan Walker, Jared Walker, Justin Dumbeck, Lindsey Dumbeck, Dalton and Dillon Ferguson, and Taylor Walker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 4 to 7pm at Fairmont Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6777 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 12:00pm at Fairmont Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Rev. James Clark will be officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.

Luva Beatrice Lemay Robinson Foster, died on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Paramount Rehabilitation Center in Pasadena Texas following a devastating short term battle with ALS, aka Lou Gehrigs Disease.
She was born May 11, 1934, in the town of Pumpkin Bend, Woodruff County, in Arkansas. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Nix, son-in-law, Don, and granddaughter, Tamra Nix, in Pasadena Texas. Luva is survived by sisters, Margie Ward of California, Victoria Swanson of Arkansas, brother, Nathan Lemay of Arkansas. She is survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and three special people, Hattie Nix, Shirley Carlton and Robbie Spivey. Luva is preceded in death by two husbands, Lemuel Robinson and Maurice “Gene” Foster as well as her son Morris Robinson. She is preceded in death by parents Isabelle Spencer and Nathaniel Lemay, one sister Mary, and three brothers Melton, Lester and Arthur Lemay.

Lillie Mae Robertson, 77 of Pasadena passed away January 5, 2008. She was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to William and Mabel Wilcox. She worked as a Patient Care Tech for over 30 years at Bayshore Hospital and retired in 1997.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Carter and husband Charlie, and Wanda Blackman; son, Ronnie Austin; sister, Mary Scott; brother, Ray Wilcox; and grandchildren, Melanie Moore and husband Mark, John Blackman, and Amy Friedel and husband Michael.

Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Arvel Robertson in 1998, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Wilson McNatt, 92 of Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008. He was born in Booneville, Arkansas on July 18, 1915 to Leonard Massey (Luke) McNatt and Dollie Viola Wilson McNatt, both deceased. He served in the Army during World War II. After earning a silver star and being honorably discharged he worked as a pipe fitter until he retired in 1977. Fishing was his passion. He enjoyed many fishing trips with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Sarah Louise; wives Betty Jean McNatt and Cornelia (Billie) McNatt; sisters Irene Huffman, Juanita Coker, Loretta McNatt and Thelma McNatt; and brothers Pete, Otis and Bill McNatt. He is survived by his daughter, Bettijane Wells and three sons, Dana W. McNatt and wife Joanie; George McNatt; and Darrell P. McNatt and wife Mary W. Brann; grandchildren, Ann McNatt and significant other Doug Eisenring and children Portia Hames, Cameron Muller, Jacob Eisenring, and Justin Eisenring; Jeff McNatt and wife Dana and children Alan, Summer and Pari McNatt; stepgrandaughter, Amanda (Mandy) Chancy and husband Kyle and children Matthew and Kylie Chancy. He is also survived by friends, Cele, Steve, Evan and Caleb Jenkins; C.A. O’Daniels, and Carol and Jack Yates. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Mr. McNatt was a member of the Pipe Fitters Retiree Club for many years and a charter member of the Pipe Fitters Union 211. Jimmy Ray Tupa, born April 27, 1944 in Ganado, TX, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at his home in Deer Park, TX.

Jimmy Ray, a true “good ole boy” is gone. With his family at his side, PapPaw T passed into Heaven. We lost J.R. way too soon, and his family and friends will miss his mischievous smile and quick wit, his one liners and practical jokes. His life was punctuated with laughter and a punch line when you least expected it. Jimmy loved to work. Following his career with Brown & Root as a Superintendent, Jimmy loved to play at work on the back of a tractor. He was a country boy at heart, who yearned for his country roots. He was the kind of Dad that other kids wished for, and the Tupa home was usually home to more than just the Tupa’s. Everyone was welcome, everyone a friend.

survived by wife Linda Clements Tupa; daughter Laura Bee Helmbrecht, of Deer Park; son Jimmy Ray Tupa, Jr. and wife Nery, of Dayton; son Michael Lee Tupa and wife Robin, son Jeffrey Tupa and wife Alissa, and son Jeremy Tupa and wife Heather, all of Deer Park. survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 on the way, and 1 great-grandchild, Josh Johnson, Danielle Tupa, Ryne Tupa, Christine Tupa, Tyler Helmbrecht,Kassie Helmbrecht, Destrey Tupa, Rylan Tupa and Jensen Tupa both due in April, Halee Helmbrecht, Rene Wilson, Rebecca Wilson and Great grandbaby Hannah Wilson. Also survived by brothers, Larry Novosad of McCrory Arkansas, and Michael Novosad of Ganado, Texas and sister Kim Story of Las Vegas, NV. Preceded in death by his mother and father, John Jim Tupa and Lillian Mozelle Hurt and his Dad, Raymond Novosad; and his sister Sandra Wells.

Visitation for Jimmy Ray will be Wednesday, January 23rd, from 5 – 9 at Fairmont Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6777 Fairmont Pkwy in Pasadena. James Lowden, 65 of LaPorte, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. He was born June 2, 1942 in Derby, Connecticut to Robert and Elizabeth Lowden. James served his country in the United States Navy and was retired from Sysco Foods in 2002.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela Lowden; sons, Chris Magliochetti and wife Kimber, Monty Lowden and wife Summer; daughter, Tanya Hutfless and husband Mark; brother, Robert Lowden and wife Maryanne; sister, Elizabeth Lowden; grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Nathan and Madeline Magliochetti, Monty Jr, William and Mary Lowden, Giorgio Reyes and Mark Hutfless. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Sherwood.

Maria “Lucy” Delaluz Martinez, 59 of Houston passed away January 17, 2008. She was born in Acuna, Mexico to Viviano and Esperanza Martinez. She was a jeweler and a loving mom. Her life revolved around her family which meant great cooking, her grandbabies, dancing, and especially her bingo.

She is survived by her daughter, Maricela Hart and her husband Kelly; sons, Luis Angel Arias and Jaime Antonio Martinez; and grandchildren Kallie Hart, Joshua Hart, and Luis Arias, Jr. Preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Salvador Martinez in 1998, and daughter Esmeralda Martinez in 2003.

Jennifer was born January 10, 1970 in Houston to Lucretia (Spencer) and Richard John Szako, and died Saturday, January 12, 2008, in Pasadena Bayshore Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She had lived in Houston her first 20 years. Then moved to Pasadena, TX in 1990 when she married her High School sweetheart Chad Sullivan.
She loved working as a pre-school teacher at the Easthaven Baptist School in South Houston until 1997. Shortly after leaving her teaching job, she and Chad were blessed with the news they were going to have a baby. On February 18, 1998, Mikayla Ashlee Sullivan was born. Jennifer continued to teach us throughout her lifetime the lessons of faith, hope, strength and encouragement. The people who knew her learned to truly appreciate their life and that strength and true beauty comes from within. Jennifer enjoyed spending her days caring for Mikayla and Chad. She excelled at shopping, vacation planning, hosting parties for her family and friends, as well as being a generous supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Survivors include her husband, Chad Sullivan, daughter, Mikayla; Mother, Lue Szako; Sister, Carrie and brother -in -law Michael Hodges; Brother, Ralph and sister -in- law Sandy Szako; Brother, Richard Szako; Sister and brother -in- law, Lori and Steve Taylor, Mother - in -law, Nelda Sullivan; Father -in- law, Gene and Tesa Sullivan; Sister and brother -in- law Laura and Jim Russell; Sister-in- Law Karen Sullivan; Aunts and Uncles, MaryAnn and Woody Doyle, Rose and Donald MacAskie, Wayne Holten , Mary Gloger, Linda Hancock; Nephews, Colton and Jacob Hodges, Brody Szako, Christopher and Nicholas Taylor; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Richard Szako; Aunt, Shirley Holten; Uncle Peter Gloger; Grandparents, John and Marie Szako, Carey Spencer, Pearl Weiner, Brother -in- law, Grant Sullivan; Grandparents -in -law, Joe and Lavern Johnson; and Cousin Todd Doyle
