Dr. Ralph Hayes Brock

HEARNE — A memorial service for Dr. Ralph Hayes Brock, 81, of Hearne is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne. The Rev. Nona Taylor will officiate.
Dr. Brock died Saturday at Harbourview Care Center in League City, Texas.
He was born in Vivian, La. and lived in Hearne for 46 years. He attended Abilene Christian College, graduated from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine and had a veterinary clinic in Hearne from 1956 until his retirement in 1985. Dr. Brock served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Daniels Brock.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Cherry and David Perciful of Conroe, Betsy and Jim Terry of Houston and Sara and Dr. Frank Little of Clear Lake; a sister, Hazel B. Monte of Dracut, Mass.; seven grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Sister M. Patricia Florkoski

SYLVANIA, Ohio — A mass of Christian burial for Sister M. Patricia Florkoski, 91, of the Sisters of St. Francis is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Queen of Peace Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home in Toledo, Ohio.
Sister Florkoski died Sunday in the Motherhouse in Sylvania.
She was born in Fremont, Ohio, and entered the Sisters of St. Francis in 1923 from St. Casimir Parish in Fremont. She professed her final vows Aug. 16, 1934.
Sister Patricia earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Teresa, Winona, Minn., a master’s in hospital administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., and a M.H.A. in hospital administration from the University of St. Louis, Mo. She held a permanent teaching certificate in Ohio.
She taught elementary school from 1927 to 1939, and taught at Central Catholic High School in Toledo from 1939 to 1956.
She was administrator at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan from 1958 to 1975. She served as the assistant administrator at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit until 1981, when she went to the Motherhouse in Sylvania.
Survivors include her cousins, many friends and her Sisters in Community.

Charles Adrian Brinkley

HEARNE — Services for Charles Adrian Brinkley, 80, of Hearne are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Hearne. The Rev. Larry Blackmon will officiate. Burial will be in the Gause Cemetery in Gause.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Heartfield Funeral Home.Mr. Brinkley died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
He was born in Tabor and retired as a superintendent for M.W. Kellogg Co. after 39 years. Mr. Brinkley was a member of First Baptist Church in Hearne and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Yung Ja Brinkley of Hearne; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles Wayne and Marion Brinkley of Bacchus Marsh, Australia, Anthony Alfred and Niken Brinkley of Houston and Timothy Allen Brinkley of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Cliff Compton of Gonzales, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
James B. Armstrong

Services for James B. Armstrong, 89, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. The Rev. Clifford Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in the Bryan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Armstrong died Tuesday at College Station Medical Center.
He was born in Franklin and lived in Bryan most of his life. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Leafy Armstrong of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Mickie Armstrong of Bryan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Monroe and Frances Armstrong and Ray and Gayle Armstrong, all of Bryan, and Roy and Helen Armstrong of Fort Worth; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Lois Fay Trant

Services for Lois Fay Trant, 54, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. The Rev. David Murphy of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Bryan City Cemetery.

Mrs. Trant died Monday at her home.
She was born in Rockdale and lived most of her life in Bryan.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lana and Mark Palasota and Lynette Jackson, all of Bryan; a brother, Edward Boman of Austin; and five grandchildren.
Charles E. ‘Jack’ Kennedy

Services for Charles E. “Jack” Kennedy, 82, of Bryan are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston. Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Mr. Kennedy died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Houston, and lived in Bryan since 1983. He was a chief inspector for the Houston Fire Department, a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kennedy.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Dawn Kennedy of Bryan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lynette Kennedy of Houston, Marie and Tokir Mir of Bryan and Miriam and Gale Fisher of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Edward ‘Ed’ Fairhurst

MADISONVILLE — Services for Edward “Ed” Fairhurst, 78, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Madisonville Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Witcher will officiate. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Fairhurst died Monday in Houston.
He was born in Houston and lived in Madisonville since 1955. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He served for many years with the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Department, managed the TV cable company in Madisonville for many years and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Mr. Fairhurst served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Fairhurst of Madisonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robbie and Stephanie Fairhurst of College Station and Eddie Fairhurst of Wellborn; a sister, Mary Varnell of Trenton, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Jessie D. Lummus

BUFFALO — Services for Jessie D. Lummus, 64, of Buffalo are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Buffalo Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Rogers of Rowlette, Texas, will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Donie, Texas.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lummus died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Teague and lived in Buffalo most of her life. Mrs. Lummus worked in restaurants and was a member of Flo Baptist Church.

Karen Binford Boring

PORTER, Texas — Memorial services for Ronnie Gene McGinty, 50, of Porter will be at the Willowhole Chapel in North Zulch at a later date.

Mr. McGinty died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Madisonville and worked as a rig-welder at Truck and Pickup in Houston for many years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Aaron McGinty.

Mrs. Wingren died Wednesday at College Station Medical Center.
She was born in Vernon and lived in College Station for 53 years. Mrs. Wingren was a homemaker and member of the A&M Mechanical Engineering Wives Club and First Baptist Church of College Station.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mathew Wingren.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Margaret Shaw Farmer of College Station; a sister, Ouida Pearl Neill of Nevada, Iowa; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
