A memorial service for Dean Hancock, 91, of College Station is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Callaway-Jones Chapel in Bryan. Dr. Tim Owens of First Baptist Church of Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in the San Marcos Cemetery.
Mrs. Hancock died Monday at Colton Inn in College Station.
She was born in Humble, Texas. Mrs. Hancock taught piano lessons for many years at her home in College Station and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bryan. She was a resident of College Station for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hancock.
Survivors include a son, Jonathan Hancock of Convent Station, N.J.; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Edna Blevins

Services for Edna Blevins, 81, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Bryan. Dr. Tim Owens will officiate. Burial will be in the Steep Hollow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hillier Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Blevins died Monday at Kindred Hospital in Houston.
She was born in San Antonio and lived in Bryan for 54 years. Mrs. Blevins was a librarian for the School of Architecture at Texas A&M University and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Blevins Jr.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Dean Kornegay of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne and Frederick Bowman of Kenedy, Texas, and Nancy Dyer of Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

MADISONVILLE Services for Mildred Buford, 81, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Hillier Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Marshall of Reliance Baptist Church will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buford died Tuesday at Madison St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Sherman, Texas, and she lived in Bryan for 30 years. She was a homemaker and a hairdresser. Mrs. Buford was a member of Wives of Agriculture Education at Texas A&M University and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Buford of Madisonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry R. and Carlee Buford of Ingram, Texas; a daughter, Alice Buford of Grapeland, Texas; a brother, Gene Presley of Amarillo; two sisters, Marie Phillips of Amarillo and Mary Snead of Colorado; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans or Cal Farley Boys Ranch.

DENVER A memorial service for Rebecca Lynn Clayton, 52, of Denver was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Denver.
Arrangements were under the direction of DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home in Denver.
Ms. Clayton died Jan. 22 in Denver.
She was born in Oklahoma City, and lived in Denver for 25 years. Ms. Clayton was a respiratory therapist.
Survivors include a sister, Carol Clayton Wiggins of College Station; her mother, Evanna Clayton of College Station; one niece; and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Hispanic Outreach Ministry, 2300 Welsh Ave., College Station.

A private family service is scheduled at a later date for Tannie T. Denison, 99, of Bryan.
Mrs. Denison died Monday at the Millican House Assisted Living Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
She was born in Elgin, Texas, and lived in Bryan for the past six years. Mrs. Denison was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Swayne Denison.
Survivors include a son, Jim Denison Jr. of Houston; a daughter, Suzanne Franklin of Tilden, Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Florence Miller Pouncey

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Pouncey died Monday.
She was born in Ben Franklin, Texas, and was retired from Lufkin Upholstery. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lufkin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon M. Pouncey.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Albert Becvar of Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Elizabeth Miller of Fort Worth; a sister, Lena Mae Moon of Dallas; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Bartolo O. Vega Sr.

NAVASOTA Services for Bartolo O. Vega Sr., 79, of Navasota are set for 1 p.m. Friday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota. The Rev. Paul Felix will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel, and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Friday at the church.
Mr. Vega died Wednesday at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born in Washington County and was a longtime resident of Navasota. He was a tie crew foreman for Sante Fe Railroad. Mr. Vega was a member of the American Legion in Anderson and the Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby G. Vega; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bartolo Jr. and Sandra Vega, and Pete and Carrie Vega, all of Navasota; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jimmy Cordova of Navasota; a sister, Bernice O. Arredondo of Somerville; a sister-in-law, Eloisa T. Vega of Somerville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Louise Hunter Beard

Services for Louise Hunter Beard, 91, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Marlin Fenn and Ernest E. Hunt III will officiate. Burial will be in the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 10 a.m. to the time of services Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Beard died Monday at her home.
She was born in Fort Worth and lived in Bryan since 1942. Mrs. Beard was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1942, where she was active with the childrens division and a member of the Omega Sunday School class. She wrote the school song for Crockett Elementary School. She was also co-owner of Beard Transfer and Storage from 1942-99.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Jim B. Beard of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim L. and Darlynne Beard of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Sonny Cochran of Austin and Elsie and the Rev. Ernest E. Hunt III of Paris, France; a sister, Carie Marie Jones of Houston; six grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

Charles William Butch Ripple

Mr. Ripple died Wednesday in Burton.
He was born in Brenham and was a security officer at Wal-Mart in Brenham. He graduated from Burton High School and Blinn College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1968. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Gaskamp Ripple.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Baggerly Ripple of Burton; his mother, Norma Renz Ripple of Giddings, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Sheila Ripple and Kenneth and Lora Ripple, all of Burton; seven stepchildren, Tammie and Tim Knight of Franklin, Melanie and Bob English of Bryan, Joe and Laura Baggerly of Bryan and Kristol Boyd of McHenry, Miss.; a brother, Roney Ripple of Dale, Texas; a sister, Virginia Ripple Neinast of Burton; two grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ramirez died Tuesday in Walker County as a result of an auto accident.

Mrs. Edwards died Tuesday at the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
She was a longtime resident of Rockdale and was a homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale and the WELCA and DORCAS Circle, both organizations of the church. She attended Gay Hill and Bushdale schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Thomas Edwards.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judy Edwards of Rockdale; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
