BRENHAM — Services for Minnie Tiemann Weiss, 84, of Brenham are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Brenham. Burial will be in the Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mrs. Weiss died Thursday.
She was born in New Wehdem and attended New Wehdem School. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Brenham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Weiss.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Lea and Charles Haberman of Austin and Ann Jennette and Kenneth Pieper of Brenham; two sisters, Emma Sander and Verlin Boecker, both of Brenham; a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Margaret Tiemann of Brenham; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marie Weiss of Lufkin, Dr. Arch and Esther Coleman of Waco and Gladys Tiemann of Bellville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Brenham or St. Paul’s Christian Day School Building Fund in Brenham.
Royce Katherine Litterst
March 25, 1925 — Jan. 31, 2002
Services for Royce Katherine Litterst, 76, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.
The Rev. Jerry Neff of A&M United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Litterst died Thursday at home.
She was born in Houston and lived in College Station since 1961. She was a homemaker and member of A&M United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Litterst Jr. of College Station; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frank C. and Patsy Litterst III of Georgetown and Mike D. Litterst of College Station; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Carl Gough Jr. of College Station; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

R.J. ‘Rip’ Adams
March 18, 1923 — Jan. 29, 2002
SAN SABA, Texas — Services for R.J. “Rip” Adams, 78, of San Saba are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Pearsall.
The Rev. James Watson will officiate. Burial will be in the Pearsall Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of the services Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Howell Doran Funeral Home in San Saba.
Mr. Adams died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Pearsall and lived in San Saba since 1985. He served as a chief petty officer, A&R Department, in the U.S. Navy. He spent most of his career in ag credit, including the FHA and PCA, and retired from the Marfa PCA in 1985. He was formerly on the board of directors of Rural Communities and was president of the Marfa Golf Association and the Marfa Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Adams of San Saba; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Pete Adams of Ardmore, Okla., Buddy and Connie Adams of San Saba and Pate Adams of Mason; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Bo Adams of College Station; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jo Ann Keating of McAllen and Mozell and Frank Wallace of San Antonio; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Peggy Adams of Farmington, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret B. Bumpurs

JEWETT — Services for Margaret B. Bumpurs, 81, formerly of Marquez are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Miracle Christian Center Church in Buffalo.
Bro. Lloyd Lane will officiate. Burial will be in the Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery near Marquez.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett.
Mrs. Bumpurs died Friday in Bryan.
She was born in Greenville, S.C., and was a homemaker. She attended the Miracle Christian Center Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Edward Bumpurs.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Bruce Aldrich of Land-o-Lake, Fla., and Betty and James Bumpurs of Marquez; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Hammond of Bryan and Bill Hammond of San Diego; four stepsons and three stepdaughters-in-law, James and Betty Bumpurs of Marquez, Harold and Polly Bumpurs of Groesbeck, Larry and Nikki Bumpurs of Porter and David Bumpurs of Houston; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Brenda and John DeSimone of Austin and Patricia and Pete Casares of Jewett; a sister, Sarah Lanier of Marquez; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry Marcell Burnette
July 21, 1917 — Jan. 22, 2002
CALDWELL — Memorial services for Harry Marcell Burnette, 84, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Saturday in Sunset United Methodist Church in Pasadena.
The Rev. Karen Dorris will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon to the time of the services Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mr. Burnette died Jan. 22 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Sunburst, N.C., and formerly lived in Aiken, S.C., and Pasadena. He was an engineer and worked for Champion-International Paper Company, Brown & Root, Inc. and Force Inc. He was a member of Sunset United Methodist Church and was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Pasadena Rotary Club. He served on the Pasadena City Council and was a member of other professional organizations.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lura Jane Burns.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Frances Burnette of Caldwell, a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ron Dusek of Caldwell; a son-in-law, Bruce Burns of Aiken, S.C.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorna and Troy Williams of Pasadena; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Odie ‘Sonny’ Steenken

BURTON — Services for Odie “Sonny” Steenken, 81, of Burton are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton.
The Rev. Glen Schoeneberg will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
Mr. Steenken died Friday in Brenham.
He was born in Winedale and was a retired carpenter for Walter Thielemann Construction Co. in Brenham. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. He attended Winedale School, Round Top School and graduated from La Grange High School. He was a member of the Burton Fire Department and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Steenken.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Fritz Odie and Karen Steenken of Burton; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Michael and Pattie Waneck of Saudi Arabia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ouida and Leslie Rohde of Bastrop and Doris and Greg James of Houston; two grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

Dolores Schoeneman

Services for Dolores Schoeneman, 66, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Delbert Price will officiate. Burial will be in Rest-Ever Memorial Park.

Mrs. Schoeneman died Friday at her home.
She was born in Patterson, N.J., and lived in Bryan for 44 years. She was a retired homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd E. Schoeneman of Bryan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd A. and Brenda Schoeneman, John R. and Brenda Schoeneman and Michael and Cindy Schoeneman, all of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Frank Vinson and Ann and Johnny Yeager, all of Bryan; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

John Alford

ROCKDALE — Services for John Alford, 71, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The Rev. Doug Springer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Alford died Saturday in Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
He was born in the Forest Grove community and was a lifelong resident of Rockdale. He was retired after 28 years with Alcoa in Rockdale and was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He owned a saddle and tack shop for many years and broke and trained horses. Mr. Alford was a member of the Rockdale Roping Club and the Forest Grove Christian Church. He served as a volunteer fireman for many years and was a veteran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lane Jobus; a stepson, Ricky Kraatz; and a stepdaughter, Patricia Kraatz Clark.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Bea Work Kraatz Alford of Rockdale; a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Roy and Betty Alford of Rockdale; a stepson, Terry Ben Kraatz of Thorndale; three stepdaughters, Virginia Kraatz Baggerly of Gause, Barbara Kraatz McBride of Kingsland, Texas, and Wanda Kraatz Manas of Rockdale; two sisters, Thelma Caffey of Rockdale and Willine Howorth of Arlington; three grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lenore F. Boyd

Services for Lenore F. Boyd, 78, of Bryan are set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
The Rev. Bruce Chabot of St. Thomas Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyd died Friday in St. Joseph Skilled Health Care.
She was born in Tahoka, Texas, and lived in Bryan since the 1970s. She received a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1974 and was a professor of psychology at Texas A&M. She was the past president of the Brazos Bluebonnet Quilt Guild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Alan R. Boyd.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James R. and Rosalee Boyd of Bryan and John H. III and Mary Boyd of Nuevo, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Betty Anglin of Hickson, Tenn.; two sisters, Dama Dee Rouse of Moab, Utah, and Hazel Cowdrey of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
