Alma Kathleen Nix Brooks born in Paris, Texas April 2, 1905, passed away February 13, 2006 in her home at Baytown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Elmer Brooks, son, Edward Larry Brook, and four siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Iris Anne Frazier; grandchildren, Candace Anne Lewis and her husband Carroll Lewis, Lanham Frazier, Donna Smith and her husband Gerald, Rhonda Armer and her husband Ronnie, and Shelly Chavers and her husband Ray; great grandchildren Brooke Mouton, Jason Mouton, Tonya Smita and Laura Bryant; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Homan Young Reed, 84, of Peoria, Texas passed away peacefully at his home in Peoria on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at East Side Chapel Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors 2495 Corsicana Hwy. Hillsboro, Texas with Chaplain Andy Andersen of Bridgeway Hospice in Hillsboro officiating. Interment will follow at Peoria Cemetery.Homan was born February 17, 1921 in Peoria, Texas the son of Homan and Lela (Young) Reed. On October 25, 1940 he married Delphine Everett at Peoria. After retiring from Exxon in Baytown, Texas, Homan and Delphine returned to Peoria to reside on the family farm, where Homan continued to be active in the Masonic Lodge. Homan was a member of Peoria Baptist Church; member and past master of New Hope Masonic Lodge #652 A.F. & A.M. Covington, past patron O. E. S. Chapter #769 Hillsboro, and an active member and past master Baytown Masonic Lodge #1357 A. F. & A. M. Survivors include his wife, Delphine Reed of Peoria; son, Joe Everett Reed and wife, Jane, of Montgomery, TX; sister, Margaret Whitson of Plano; granddaughters, Susan Helton and Stephenie Beridon and husband, Andre, all of The Woodlands; and great-grandchildren, Reed and Trent Helton and Rayne, Madelaine, and Josh Beridon all of The Woodlands.Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219.

Born in Baytown on September 7, 1975, he was the middle of three children born to McKinley and Linda Ann Miller Smith. He is survived by his parents; his wife, Misty Paul Smith of Baytown; brother, Kinney Smith and wife, Tracy of Spring; sister, Nicole Amos and husband, Jason of League City; maternal grandmother, Beanna Landry; nephew, Devin Smith; and niece, Thalia Wilson.

Bula Beatrice Cox, 89, of Brownwood, Early and recently of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006 at a Baytown hospital after a short illness.
Bula was born March 1, 1916 to Lillie May and James Wesley Seals in the Harmony Community. She had 2 sisters and 5 brothers, all proceeded her in death. She married P.B. (Pete) Cox on August 17, 1943, at Harmony Baptist Church in Runnels County. They lived in the Brownwood area for about 46 years, moving to Baytown to be near family in 2001.

Allen Vincent Climie, 75 of Mt. Belvieu, passed away at his home on Sunday night. Visitation will be held from 5pm-9pm on Tuesday at Sterling-White Chapel in Highlands with a recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church in Baytown. Rev. Msgr. Fred O’Conner will officiate. Committal services and interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Baytown.
Allen was born on January 17, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to Alfred S. Climie and Laura DuFord. He had been a resident of the area for the last 32 years where he worked as a Chemical Treatment Operator and later as an Armed Security Guard. He was very proud of his work as a security guard and had reached the rank of Lieutenant with his company. Allen was active with the AFLCIO and the Old Newsboys Charity group in Michigan. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Allen was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a third degree knight and member of the Knights of Columbus, John Paul Chapter 7206 in Baytown. Allen was an avid coin collector and in his spare time, enjoyed artwork, as well as working in the yard on his trees and cactus garden.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and wife Eleanor M. Climie. He is survived by his son, Gary Climie of Mt. Belvieu; daughters Teresa Birnmann of Dayton and Yvonne Randel of Dayton; sisters, Shirley Breasbois of MI and Sharon Miller of MI; brother Dale Climie of MI; grandchildren Eric Randel of TN, Penny Griggs of VA, Chance Randel of Spring, Damon Randel of Dayton, Tina Vargus of Dayton, Clara Rowell of Dayton, William Climie of Old River and Jessica Climie of Baytown; great-grandchildren, Clay, Skyler, Samantha, Kaitlin, Christian, Helen, Joshua, Robert, Christina, Devin, Anthony and Amanda and great-great-grandchildren Faith and Draven. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joseph Franklin Webber
Joseph Franklin Webber, age 85, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2006. Joe was born in Goose Creek, TX on August 17, 1920, to Charlie Webber and Nellie McMath Webber. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran proudly serving his country during WWII in North Africa, Italy, China, Burma, and India. Joe had a special talent for woodworking, loved watercolor painting and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy, his granddaughter Elizabeth Chamberlain, his brothers, Charlie and Paul, and his sister Nell. Joe is survived by his wife Jean, daughters Colleen Webber Chamberlain and husband David, Laurie Webber McBride and husband Pat, and his son, Joe Webber and wife Lisa. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Dan Landry and wife Carol, Rick Landry and wife Nancy, Linda Landry Noble and husband Van Carroll, and Steve Landry and partner Karl Moritz. Also, his brother Barney Webber and wife Madelyn and sisters Grace Keown and husband Harold, Ruth Peet and husband Nick, Mattie Little, and Virginia Fanta, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Waltrip Funeral Directors where funeral services will be held in the chapel at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Ruth Elsie Blystone McLean
Ruth Elsie Blystone McLean went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 20, 2006, at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 24 days.
She was born November 16, 1915, in Brookshire, TX, the eldest of six children born to Robert Maurice Blystone and Eddie Routh Kirk Blystone. She graduated from Cedar Bayou High School in 1934 and attended Lee Junior College in Baytown completing a course in Business. She transferred to Southwestern Bible Institute in Waxahachie. She also attended the University of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter, Roslyn Kay McLean, a brother, Morris D. Blystone, a nephew, Kevin Lee Blystone, and a niece, Melody Blystone Bazar.
She began her 42 year career as a Registered Medical Secretary, specializing in medical record keeping and transcription in 1950 at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston and subsequently at several hospitals in the Houston, Pasadena and Baytown areas. She was employed at Ledbetter Clinic in Houston at the time of her retirement in 1981. She attended Uvalde Baptist Church in Houston for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Rose Sharon McLean Gigout and husband Lloyd Gigout of Mont Belvieu; three grandchildren, Russell Daniel Henderson and wife Linda Henderson and Lori Denise Graham and husband Robert Graham, all of Baytown, and Rex Allen Henderson and wife Rebecca Henderson of Houston; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Norman of Hot Springs, AR; three brothers, Chester Blystone and wife Elizabeth Blystone of Groves, Ed Blystone of Baytown, and Robert Blystone and wife Wanda Blystone of Montgomery; and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Ruth devoted all of her life to always placing others’ needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and will always be remembered in our hearts.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. J. P. Granberry officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Henderson, Rex Henderson and Robert Graham, and great grandsons, Daniel Henderson, Jordan Henderson and Kelton Graham.
Ruth’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at Baytown who cared for Ruth with great compassion.
