RICHARDSON, Texas Services for Alvis Matthew Matt Gaddis, 60, of Richardson and formerly of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Rusk, Texas. The Rev. Don Copeland will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gaddis died Sunday in Baylor Richardson Medical Center in Richardson.
He was born in Jacksonville, attended Texas A&M University, Stephen F. Austin and University of North Texas. Mr. Gaddis was a resident of Richardson for 33 years. He was employed with the Plano Independent School District for 16 years as an air-conditioning technician. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Parsons Gaddis of Richardson; his mother, Lenora Gaddis of College Station; a son, Steven Matthew Gaddis of Fort Worth; a sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Alfred Vander Stucken of Victoria, Texas; two nieces and a nephew.
Earl Singletary

MADISONVILLE Graveside services for Earl Singletary, 91, of Madisonville are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Greenbriar Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Madisonville Funeral Home.
Mr. Singletary died Monday at the Madison St. Joseph Health Center.
He was a lifetime resident of Madison County. Mr. Singletary owned a service station. He was a member of the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ophelia Faye Singletary.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Singletary of Madisonville; a daughter, Earline Noles of Belton, Texas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous stepchildren.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. Graveside services for Arthur Lee M.C. Debose, 78, of Georgia are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Navasota.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home.
Mr. Debose died March 14.
He was born in Grimes County. He was a cook in the U.S. Army and a member of the Christian Home Workers Association.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur Lee Debose Jr., Andre Debose, and Elgie Debose; a daughter, Ardyce Debose; and a host of grandchildren.

A memorial service for Lena Marino Rosier, 90, of College Station will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rosier died Tuesday.
She was born in Brazos County and was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Rosier.
Survivors include a son, Charles L. Rosier of Bryan; a brother, Jack Marino of Bryan; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lucy and Joe Restivo of Bryan and Rosie Chambers of Crane, Texas; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

NORTH ZULCH Services for Bufford O. Crocker, 82, of North Zulch are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Willowhole Chapel in North Zulch. Burial will be in the Willowhole Cemetery.
Mr. Crocker died Tuesday at his home.
He was a farmer and rancher and a lifetime resident of North Zulch. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Alene Crocker of North Zulch; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steve Winder of Houston; a sister and brother-in-law, Rowena and Cecil Cox; a sister, Ethel Rice; two grandsons; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services for Alta LaVaughn Smith, 71, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. The Rev. Weldon Mackey of the House of Prayer Church in College Station will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Monday at her home.
She was born in Pauls Valley, Okla., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member and secretary and treasurer of the House of Prayer Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn D. Smith.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Preston Lee and Patricia Ann Smith of Somerville, Larry Don and Jeanene Smith and Glenn David and Bea Smith, all of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Gleneva and Gary Vezurk of College Station; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Troy and Betty Dickson of Enid, Okla., and R.T. Mr. DuBois died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Mobile, Ala., and was a member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville. He was a cabinetmaker for many years. Mr. DuBois served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Lena DuBois of Madisonville; three stepdaughters, Jacqueline Blakeney, Freida Williams, and Pat Gibbs, all of Madisonville; a brother, Walter Earl DuBose of Nixon; two sisters, Willa Mae McClain of Seguin, Texas, and Gloria Weaner of Pennsylvania.

BUFFALO Services for John Wilson Bell, 70, of Buffalo are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. The Rev. Weldon Bell will officiate and Donald Head will assist. Burial will be in the North Creek Cemetery east of Centerville.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bell died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Russell, Texas, and worked as a chemical technician for Ethyl Chemical Company. He was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Bell had been a resident of Buffalo since 1984 and was formerly of Pasadena, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Jeffie Lea Watson Bell of Buffalo; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Bell and Steve Curtis Torno of Centerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Jodi Lynn Bell of Deer Park, Texas; a mother-in-law, Norean Watson of Centerville; two sisters, Anne Bell Redding of Oakwood and Betty Baker of Centerville; a brother, Wallace Bell of Tyler; two brothers-in-law, Nick Watson of Centerville and Joe Redding of Oakwood; a sister-in-law, Shirley Bell of Weesatche, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives.

BRENHAM Services for Emma Tiemann Sander, 87, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, Texas. Pastor Jennifer Grant will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mrs. Sander died Tuesday.
She was born in New Wehdem in Austin County and attended New Wehdem School. Mrs. Sander was a retired employee of Brenham Broom & Mop and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, Naomi Circle and taught Sunday school and helped at vacation Bible school for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Sander.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Lenard Lehmann, Joyce and Roger Draehn, Mildred and Odis Haynes and Dorothy and Nelson Wellmann, all of Brenham; a son and daughter-in-law, Erwin and Kay Sander of Brenham; a sister, Verlin Boecker of Brenham; a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Margaret Tiemann of Brenham; four sisters-in-law, Gladys Tiemann of Bellville, Texas, and Elsie Sander, Hilda Sander and Viola Warmke, all of Brenham; numerous grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Elva McKinley Wheeler

MINERVA A memorial service for Elva McKinley Wheeler, 78, of Minerva is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rockdale Full Gospel Church in Rockdale. The Rev. Doug Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Wheeler died Sunday at the Olin Teague Veterans Hospital in Temple.
He was born Boswell, Okla., and was a heavy equipment mechanic and worked in the Houston area for several years. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and a member of VFW Post 6525 in Rockdale.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Laura Wheeler.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Wheeler of Rockdale and Larry Wheeler of Lytton Springs, Texas; a daughter, Suzanne Wheeler of Cut and Shoot, Texas; two brothers, Don Wheeler of Nacogdoches and Ernie Wheeler of Texas City; a sister, Myrle of Arizona; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Daviss died Saturday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
He was a lifetime resident of Navasota, and was a mechanic and worked for the public schools. He was a member of the Christian Homeworkers Association and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Edna Earl Daviss and Chuck Robinson of Houston; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry E. and Gladys Daviss of Dallas and the Rev. Isaiah T. and Jenera Daviss of Houston; two sisters, Jimmie E. Daviss of Liberty, Texas, and Jessie P. Boggess of Houston; and four grandchildren.
