CALDWELL — Graveside services for Christina Gold Gonzales, 88, of Caldwell are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell.
The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Gonzales died Saturday in Woodland Health Care Center in The Woodlands.
She was born in Caldwell and was a retired waitress and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was formerly employed by Jake’s Restaurant in Caldwell.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ronald Perriraz of Conroe, Texas; two sisters, Minnie Williams of Houston and Bessie Gold of Crosby, Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mary K. Kovar
July 16, 1922 — March 23, 2002
BREMOND — Graveside services for Mary K. Kovar, 79, of Bremond are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Wheelock Cemetery.
The Rev. Jim Manning of the First Baptist Church in Franklin will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bremond Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kovar died Saturday at the Bremond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Burleson County and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and James Mack of Wheelock; a brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Betty Valenta of Caldwell; a sister, Milady Valenta of Calvert; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
William O. Ree
March 13, 1913 — March 23, 2002
Graveside services for William O. Ree, 89, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Okla.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home.
Mr. Ree died Saturday at St. Joseph Manor.
He was born in S. Milwaukee, Wis., and was a retired engineer. He received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was a member of five professional organizations and was honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.
He retired in 1975 from the USDA Soil Conservation Service and Agricultural Research Service. After his retirement, he worked for Colorado State University in Cairo, Egypt. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the 58th Seabee Battalion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth James of Bryan; a son, William O. Ree Jr. of Bryan; a brother, Melvin Ree of Newark, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
William 'Pee-Wee' Theiss
June 10, 1935 — March 24, 2002
NAVASOTA — Graveside services for William “Pee-Wee” Theiss, 66, of Conroe are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Plantersville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
Mr. Theiss died Sunday in Holcombe House in Houston.
He was born in Klein, Texas, and worked with Tex Fab in maintenance. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Theiss of Conroe; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry Clarence and Linda Theiss of Houston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Loyce and Raymond Jones and Jamie Elaine Lamb, all of Spring, Texas.
Hugo H. Krenek
June 14, 1918 — March 24, 2002
Services for Lt. Col. Hugo H. Krenek, retired USAF, 83, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
The Rev. Phil McLarty of the First Presbyterian Church of Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Lt. Col. Krenek died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in the Shiloh community and was a lifelong resident of College Station. He was retired after 22 years service piloting B-36 and B-52 bombers as an Aircraft Commander with the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in the Near East, Tucson, Ariz., Rapid City, S.D., Montgomery, Ala. and California and was one of the first contingents to fly in the Berlin Airlift.
He was a member of Texas A&M University Class of 1943 and was an endowed member of the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation, member of Texas A&M Former Students Association, member of Texas A&M Presidential Endowed Scholarship Program and was a past member of Texas A&M Quarterback Club. He was also retired from the State Comptroller’s Office in 1983 after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Krenek of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Krenek of College Station; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and David Swartz of Mabank, Texas, and Beverly Lane of Jersey Village, Texas; two sisters, Lillian Thompson of Longwood, Fla., and Gladys Patrick of College Station; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mel Krenek of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bryan.
William Brady Bledsoe
May 6, 1917 — March 24, 2002
NORMANGEE — Services for William Brady Bledsoe, 84, of Madisonville and formerly of Normangee are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.
Brother Bud McGee of Harmony Baptist Church in Normangee will officiate. Burial will be in Ten Mile Cemetery in Madison County.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bledsoe died Sunday in Madisonville.
He was born in the Ten Mile community and was a lifelong resident of Leon County. He was retired from Burlington Rock Island Railroad and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bledsoe of Madisonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy June and Calvin Jenkins of Plantersville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Oscar A. Weiser
Oct. 16, 1910 — March 25, 2002
GIDDINGS — Services for Oscar A. Weiser, 91, of Lincoln, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Weiser died Monday in Giddings.
He was a lifelong resident of Lincoln and was a carpenter and farmer. He was also employed by the ASC office in Giddings for several years. He was a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, trustee and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsa Weiser; and a daughter, Inez Weiser.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Helen Weiser of Brenham; a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Alton Mutschink of Austin; a sister-in-law, Ella Schiwart of Houston; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard G. Long
Oct. 5, 1924 — March 25, 2002
Services for Howard G. Long, 77, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. The Revs. Craig Borchardt and Debra Grant will officiate. Burial will be in the Bryan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hillier Funeral Home.
Mr. Long died Monday at his home.
Mr. Long was born in Milano and was a maintenance worker at the Texas Highway of Public Transportation Department. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lutheran Brotherhood East Texas Branch #8689. Mr. Long served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn L. Long.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Long of Flower Mound, Texas, David and Sherry Long of Bay City, Texas, and Kenneth and Theresa Long of Dallas; a brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Pauline Long of Austin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Cox of Midland and Gladys Faye and Ernest Risinger of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren.

Lillie Dell Burns

HEARNE — Services for Lillie Dell Burns, 83, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Hearne. Geron Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery in Calvert.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mrs. Burns died Monday at her home.
She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Mrs. Burns lived in Hearne for the past 22 years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Burns.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Barbara Burns of Silsbee, Texas, and Gene and Sally Burns of Katy, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Claude E. DuBois

MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Claude E. DuBois, 87, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the College Station Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Witcher of First Baptist Church of Madisonville will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.
Mr. DuBois died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Mobile, Ala. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville and was a cabinet maker for many years. Mr. DuBois served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Lena DuBois of Madisonville; three daughters, Jacqueline Blakeney, Freida Williams, and Pat Gibbs, all of Madisonville; a brother, Walter Earl DuBose of Nixon, Texas; two sisters, Willa Mae McClain of Seguin, Texas, and Gloria Weaner of Pennsylvania.
Isie R. Yount
Feb. 23, 1907 — March 25, 2002
WATSON BRANCH, Texas — Services for Isie R. Yount, 95, of the Watson Branch community are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rockdale. Dr. Clyde Majors of Brownwood and the Rev. Larry Givens of Shiloh Baptist Church in Williamson County will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yount died Monday in the Johns Community Hospital in Taylor.
She was a lifetime resident of the Watson Branch community. Mrs. Yount was a homemaker and a member of the Union Baptist Church in the Watson Branch community before becoming a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Town & Country Club of Thorndale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Leonard “Babe” Yount.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Karen Yount of Austin and Charles and Molly Yount of Sweeny, Texas; a daughter, Janice Ferradino of Reno, Nev.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
