Oct. 10, 1940 - March 15, 2002

FERRIS — Graveside services for Barbara Sue Thompson Bullard, 61, of Ferris are set for 1 p.m. Friday at City Cemetery in Madisonville. Rev. Mary Green Cope will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mrs. Bullard died Friday in Dallas.

She was born in Fort Worth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Gary Bullard. Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Partridge of Ferris, and one grandson.

Terrell Earl Webb Sr.

March 24, 1957 - March 17, 2002

Services for Terrell Earl Webb Sr., 44, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at West Union Baptist Church. Rev. Anthony Lang will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan, followed by a wake service will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Webb died Sunday in Houston.  A lifetime resident of Bryan, he attended Bryan High School and was self-employed.

He was a member of the West Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Christopher Earl Shorter of Bryan, Terrell Earl Webb Jr. of Bryan and Terrell Walton of Austin; three brothers, Curtis W. Webb Sr. and Rueben T. Webb Sr., both of Bryan, and Eddie Lee Felder Jr. of Biloxi, Miss.

Ray Tarver

Nov. 20, 1914 - March 17, 2002

Services for Ray Tarver, 87, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at John the Baptist Church in Burleson County. Rev. Travis McConley of John the Baptist Church and Rev. James E. Williams of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Oldham Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Tarver died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. He was born in Temple and lived in Bryan for 60 years. He was a chef and self-employed. He was a member of John the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Willie Lee Tarver of Bryan; three sons, Donald W. Marks, Donald Estes and Cecil Tarver, all of Bryan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty J. Williams and Rev. James E. Williams and Linda Latson Marks, all of Bryan; a sister, Hazel Hall of Bryan; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Joel Grayson Glover

Jan. 27, 1966 - March 18, 2002

PARAGOULD, Ark. — Services for Joel Grayson Glover, 36, of Paragould, Ark. were held Thursday at Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst, Miss. Burial was in the Strong Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Glover died Monday at his residence.

He was born in Hazlehurst, Miss., attended Pascagoula High School in Pascagoula, Miss., and graduated from Bryan High School. Mr. Glover graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science degree in political science and business adminsitration. He became a certified hotel accountant executive and was employed with Remington Corp. in Dallas.

Survivors include his father and his stepmother, Richard C. and Peggy Glover of Paragould, Ark.; his grandmother, Margraret St. John of Ocean Springs, Miss.; several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, uncles and other relatives.

Robert W. Richardson

Aug. 5, 1925 - March 20, 2002

HEARNE — Services for Robert W. Richardson, 76, of Hearne are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hearne. Burial will be in the Norwood Cemetery. Rev. Larry Blackmon will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mr. Richardson died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Richardson. Survivors include a son, Bob Richardson of Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

Barbara Wigstone

Jan. 20, 1955 - March 17, 2002

PELHAM, Ala. — Services for Barbara Wigstone, 47, of Pelham, Ala. are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Caldwell. Rev. David Collins of Elizabeth Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wigstone died Sunday in Alabama.

She was born in Lockhart and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Wigstone of Pelham, Ala., a son, Christopher Wigstone of Pelham, Ala.; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas H. and Bonnie Boortz of Houston; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jay and Carla Wigstone of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Jim Mainer of Houston and Carol and Jerrel Whitworth of Chester; a sister-in-law, Diane Wigstone of Arlington; a stepfather, Curtis Pillow of Caldwell; a mother and father-in-law, Marjorie and Charles Wigstone of Arlington; and one grandson.

Betty Sucke Roberts

July 31, 1916 - March 18, 2002

A memorial service for Betty Sucke Roberts, 85, of Bryan is set for 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Bryan. Dr. Philip McLarty will officiate.

Mrs. Roberts died Monday at her residence.

She was born in Spencer, W.Va. and lived in Bryan for 27 years. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Roberts. Survivors include a son, William L. Roberts of Bend, Ore.; a daughter, Carol Ita Roberts of Barcelona, Spain; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 205 E. 29th St., Bryan, 77803.

Lena Arcotta

Aug. 15, 1915 - March 20, 2002

Services for Lena Arcotta, 86, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Rev. John Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Arcotta died Wednesday at Sherwood Health Care.

She was born in Brazos County and was a lifetime resident. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne and the Altar Society.

Survivors include two brothers, John and Sam Arcotta, both of Houston; a sister, Pearl Cangelosi of Dallas; three sisters-in-law, Frances Damottier of Bryan, Vlasta Domottier of Caldwell and Rosalee Damottier of Conroe; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brazos and Laura Arcotta of Gause; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Timmie “Mena” Alvarado

Dec. 19, 1953 - March 19, 2002

HEARNE — Services for Timmie “Mena” Alvarado, 48, of Hearne are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne. Rev. Ray Commander will officiate.

Burial will be in the St. Jose Cemetery in Hearne. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at Heartfield Funeral Home and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Alvarado died Tuesday.

Born in Port Lavaca and a longtime resident of Hearne, she was a cook and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Survivors include a husband, Pete Alvarado of Hearne; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donny Alvarado and Joe and Franciscia Alvarado, all of Hearne; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Reuben Williams of Austin; her mother, Demencia Rodriquez of DeLeon; eight brothers, Charlie Rodriquez and David Rodriquez, both of Bakersville, Calif., Severo Rodriquez, Premo Rodriquez, Richard Rodriquez and Johnny Rodriquez, all of Cleburn, Ysidro Rodriquez of DeLeon and Celestino Rodriquez of Giddings; six sisters, Santos Sanchez of Holgaie, Ohio, Minga Medrano of Sherman, Helen Solis of Plainville, Elena Burns of Stevenville, Estella Rodriquez of Cleburn and Mary Solis of San Antonio; and nine grandchildren.

Hildegard Eldred

Aug. 31, 1910 — March 21, 2002

Services for Hildegard Eldred, 91, of Bryan are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan.

Chaplain Keith Goode, the Rev. Phil McLarty and Blake Brinegar will officiate. Burial will be in the Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Mrs. Eldred died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Brenham and lived in Bryan since 1929. She received an associate degree in business from Blinn Memorial College in Brenham and began her career with Bryan Building and Loan as a teller, retiring in 1975 as branch manager of the Downtown Bryan location. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan and the Order of the Eastern Star 222.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter T. Eldred.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Katherine and Bob Ingram of San Antonio and Patsy Ann and Larry Astle of Bryan; a daughter-in-law, June Prine Eldred of Fredericksburg, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Joseph Quinn Jr.

Jan. 25, 1950 — March 21, 2002

Services for Raymond Joseph Quinn Jr., 52, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station.

Chaplain David Worcester will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Quinn died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in St. Louis, Mo., and lived in Bryan 10 years. He was employed as a business and computer teacher with North Zulch ISD. He received his master’s degree from Webster University in St. Louis. He served 27 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Quinn of Bryan; two daughters, Shannon Rebecca Quinn and Caitlin Blair Quinn, both of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Karen Quinn of Arnold, Mo., and Mark and Julie Quinn of Cardiff, Wales; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Phil Dominick of Boynton Beach, Fla.; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Nancy Wiley of Waynesville, Mo., Kathy Henry of Bryan and Deborah and Jim Seago of St. Robert, Mo.; his parents, Marcella and Ed Dublar of Boynton Beach and Raymond and Clair Quinn of Perryville, Mo.; and his in-laws, James and Bonnie Wiley of Waynesville.

Herbert Maxwell Ferguson

Nov. 10, 1918 — March 19, 2002

BEDIAS — Services for Herbert Maxwell Ferguson, 83, of Bedias are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Bedias.

Judge Jerry Sandel will officiate. Burial will be in the Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Ferguson died Tuesday.

He was born in Goldthwaite, Texas, and retired in 1980 from the International Pipefitters Local 211 in Houston. He was a lifelong member of the Masons Gus A. Brandt Lodge No. 1296 in Houston and was a member of the Boerne Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Eldred Ferguson of Bedias; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James William and Sally Hodges of Humble and John Marvin Hodges of Bedias; two daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Hodges and James Robinson of Austin and Cheryl Ann and Al Rodriguez of Bedias; a brother and sister-in-law, Talley Kessler and Jackie Ferguson of Buffalo; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Rae and Homer Cross of Conroe and Crystal Martin of Houston; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ethel Winnie Brooks

April 12, 1924 — March 23, 2002

NORMANGEE — Services for Ethel Winnie Brooks, 77, of Montgomery, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Flynn Baptist Church.

Bro. Ross Newton of the Flynn Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Mrs. Brooks died Saturday in Conroe.

She was born in Marquez and was retired from Mount Houston Independent School District. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Brooks of Montgomery; a son, Roger Wiley Brooks of Willis; a daughter and son-in-law, Merlene and Terry Johnson of Montgomery; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Jimmie Winstead and Tommy and Jean Winstead, all of Pasadena, Texas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
