William O. ‘Bill’ Roth

William O. “Bill” Roth, 83, of Bryan died Friday in Sherwood Health Care Facility.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.
Mr. Roth was retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Roth of California; a daughter, Kristie Northon of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Marilyn Cochrane of College Station; and three grandchildren.
Aaron Albert Emerson, III
Aug. 14, 1914 — March 10, 2002
WINNSBORO, Texas — Services for Aaron Albert Emerson III, 87, of Winnsboro are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Rev. Steve Jared will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
Mr. Emerson died Sunday at his home.
Born in Haywood County, Tenn., he was a manufacturing representative, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Hester Muse Emerson of Winnsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Patrick Thomas McCaffrey

AUSTIN — Services for Patrick Thomas McCaffrey, 55, of Austin are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin.
Monsignor John McCaffrey will officiate. Burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery in Austin.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin.
Mr. McCaffrey died Sunday in Austin.
He was born in Plymouth, N.H. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Catholic.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Robert McCaffrey and Scott Thomas McCaffrey, both of Austin; a brother, the Rev. Monsignor John A. McCaffrey of Bryan; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Robert Mechler of Spring; four nieces; and one nephew.

Dorothy Louise McFarling
March 26, 1936 — March 11, 2002
Services for Dorothy Louise McFarling, 65, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Bryan. Dr. Tim Owens will officiate. Burial will be in the Restever Memorial Park in Bryan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. McFarling died Monday at M.D. Anderson in Houston.
She was born in Oakhurst and lived in Bryan since 1982. A retired medical assistant, Mrs. McFarling was a member of Orville and Winne Brown Sunday School Class, Pie Makers Extraordinaire, Volunteer Christian Building and First Baptist Church of Bryan.
Survivors include her husband, Robert McFarling of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Eleanor M. McFarling of Escondido, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Martin Locke of Greenville, Miss.; a sister, Shirley Ann Hair of Cold Springs, Texas; five grandchildren;and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Bryan.
Jimmy G. Plantt
April 10, 1927 — March 12, 2002
Services for Jimmy G. Plantt, 74, of College Station are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
The Rev. Foree Grove will officiate. Burial will be in the Friedens Cemetery of Gay Hall.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Plantt died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
He was born in Hicks and attended school in Caldwell. Mr. Plantt was an area maintenance carpenter-welder at the Texas A&M University Physical Plant and retired in 1990. He was a member of A&M Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Plantt of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Allen and Brenda Plantt of Bryan; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Yolie Neumann of Tomball; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and George Norman of Bryan; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Judy and Vernon Wagner of Brenham; a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Anne Plantt of Bryan; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy and James Wade of College Station, Myrtle Coufal of Buckholts, Texas, and Hazel Broderich of Houston; his first wife, Mary Stella Dechiro Plantt; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

DeAlvia Hurd

CALDWELL — Services for DeAlvia Hurd, 99, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rockdale.
Bro. Theaster Maloy Sr. of Fidelity Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Bell Town Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Hurd died Saturday at Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale.
She was born in Burleson County, went to public school in Bell Town, attended Prairie View A&M University and graduated from Chicago School of Nursing. She retired from King Daughter Hospital in Temple. Mrs. Hurd was a member of the Christian Home Workers and Mitchell Chapel Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Hurd.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald W. Sr. and Deryl M.Hurd, of Houston and Walter D. II and Regina Hurd, of Rockdale; 13 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Beadie Godine
June 11, 1894 — March 10, 2002
Services for Beadie Godine, 104, of College Station are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Dallas.
The Rev. Clyde Clark of Mount Carmel Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.
Mrs. Godine died Sunday in Colton Inn.
She was born in Burleson County and lived in College Station for eight years. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and BTU Junior Sponsor, member of the Senior Missionary Society, chaired the Sunshine Committee, presided as president over the Mary Circle and attended Wednesday night prayer services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Godine Jr.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James III and Hiawatha Godine of College Station; a daughter, Katie Godine Waiters of Bryan; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Hawkins Godine of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois Elizabeth Miller

Graveside services for Lois Elizabeth Miller, 93, of Cameron are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Bryan City Cemetery.
The Rev. Billy Smith will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Ms. Miller died Tuesday in Cameron.
She was born in Milam County and was formerly of Bryan. She was retired from U.S.D.A. and was a member of Central Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold and Janie Grelen of Pineville, La., and Thomas D. Grelen of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, J.E. Miller of Temple; two sisters, Leora Malone and Roberta Black, both of Cameron; and four grandchildren.
Elton Ernest Rodgers
Aug. 4, 1926 — March 11, 2002
EDMOND, Okla. — Memorial services for Elton Ernest Rodgers, 75, of Edmond are set for 1 p.m. Thursday at Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Rodgers died Monday at his home.
He was born in Mangum, Okla., and graduated from Lubbock High School in Lubbock. He received a degree in 1950 in Petroleum Geology from what is now Texas Tech University. He worked as a staff geologist for Skelty Oil Company of Tulsa, Okla., for 32 years, retiring in 1985. He served as an officer of the National Society of Professional Well Log Analysts, president of the Permian Basin Well Logging Society and was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He was inducted into the “Four Mile Club” for his involvement in the drilling of the 22,569 foot “Walter No. 1” in Washita County, Okla. Over his career, he lived in Manhattan, Kan., Brady,Texas, Amarillo, Abilene,Midland and Oklahoma City.
While in Midland, he helped found the Flying Chaparrals Model Airplane Club and in Oklahoma City he was a member of the Mayfair Kiwanis Club. He served as a Sunday school teacher and director and various Baptist churches and was a deacon at Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and Barcelona Road Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Norman “Pooch” Rodgers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Gary Jackson of College Station, and Ten and Kelly Ogle of Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Marci Rodgers of College Station; and eight grandchildren.
