Harry Carl Warren

JEWETT — Services for Harry Carl Warren, 55, of Jewett are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Jewett.
The Rev. James Engle of the First Baptist Church in Jewett will officiate. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.
Mr. Warren died Thursday in the East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
He was born in Robbins and was a Baptist. He worked in the oilfields.
Survivors include five sisters, Helen Lee White of Baytown, Ruth Maurdine Evans and Elender Sue Martin, both of Jewett, Roxie Holder of Valley Mills and Lillian Anner Fraizer of Robbins, Texas; three brothers, Joe Ray Warren and Herman Warren, both of Jewett, and James Alton Warren of Baytown; 26 nephews; 11 nieces; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
George G. Wenzel
June 12, 1913 — March 8, 2002
ROCKDALE — Services for George G. Wenzel, 88, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale.
The Rev. Brian Bauer of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rockdale.
Mr. Wenzel died Friday in the Temple V.A. Hospital.
He was born in Milam County and was a lifelong resident of Rockdale. He was a farmer and rancher and was employed for five years by Alcoa in Rockdale. He served as a medic with the 3rd Field Hospital in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the church council.
Survivors include his wife, Helen O. Brockenbush Wenzel of Rockdale; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Floyd H. Jr. and Kathleen Brockenbush of Rockdale; two stepdaughters and a son-in-law, Shirley R. and Curtis Beason of Sharp and Patricia A. Thornton of Dallas; two sisters, Leona Salge of New Braunfels and Margareta Wenzel of Rockdale; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ben Salas
Jan. 18, 1913 — March 7, 2002
BAY CITY, Texas — Services for Ben Salas, 89, of Pledger are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City.
The Rev. Casey Jarzombek will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
Mr. Salas died Thursday.
He was born in Schulenburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Salas; and a son, Carl Salas.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary Prochaska, Sandra and Allen Stavinoha and Elaine and Willie Broll, all of Wharton; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Armand Salas of Ashwood, Dr. Wayne and Carolyn Salas of Lufkin, Paul and Joyce Salas of Bryan, Mike and Lynette Salas of Pledger and Ray and Peggy Salas of Boling; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Isabella Blake
Feb. 20, 1927 — March 8, 2002
SOMERVILLE — Graveside services for Isabella Blake, 75, of Somerville are set for noon Monday at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.
The Rev. Petro Gonzales will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
Mrs. Blake died Friday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Blake of Somerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Isabella and David of Chriesman and Susan and Milton Birmingham of Houston; two brothers, Albert Nesbitt of Pittsburgh and Kieran Nesbitt of Lakeville, Fla.; three sisters, Alice Prosky, Mary Laser and Kay Neiser, all of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret Virginia ‘Jones’ Fulton

HEARNE — Services for Margaret Virginia “Jones” Fulton, 81, of Clear Lake are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne.
The Rev. Kenneth Byrd of the Gause United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mrs. Fulton died Friday in Clear Lake.
She was born in Kansas and lived in Clear Lake for a short time. She formerly lived in Hearne and was retired as an insurance agent. She was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Fulton.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Lloyd Stem of Nassau Bay, Texas; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth Marie Haney

FRANKLIN — Graveside services for Ruth Marie Haney, 83, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin.
Bobby Johnson of Ridge will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Mrs. Haney died Friday in Giddings.
She was born in Dallas and lived in Franklin since 1960. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Haney.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Linda Haney of Bryan; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Helen Erling Linger
Feb. 25, 1926 — March 1, 2002
Memorial services for Helen Erling Linger, 76, of College Station will be held this summer.
Mrs. Linger died March 1 in Medford, Ore.
She was born in Cumberland, Md., and lived in College Station since 1960. She attended Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving O. Linger.
Survivors include four children and their families, Mike Linger of College Station, Don Linger of Stockton, Calif., Jean Unger of Arlington, Va., and Jody Cole of Medford, Ore.; two step-daughters, Martha Arthur of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joan Rice of Ypsilanti, Mich.; a sister, Elizabeth Marshall of Florida; a brother, Fred Erling of Florida; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, the Alzheimer’s Association, or to a charity of choice.
James A. Perkins Sr.

HEARNE — Graveside services for James A. Perkins Sr., 54, of Ridge are set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Holly Cemetery in Ridge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mr. Perkins died Saturday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Sondra Perkins of Ridge; a son, James A. Perkins Jr. of Franklin; three daughters, Fredda Nevedomsky of Bremond, Nora Childs of Falls City, Wash., and Lynn Burges of Franklin; a brother, M.E. Perkins of Iola; two sisters, Betty Steen of Wharton and Louise Dean of Newark, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
