CHAPPELL HILL Services for Mintha Burton, 66, of Chappell Hill are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church in the Sauney Stand communty.
The Rev. Jessie Turner will officiate. Burial will be in the Carlie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Taft Harris Funeral Home in Brenham.
Ms. Burton died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
She was born in Chappell Hill.
Survivors include two sisters, two brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lillian Ida Backhaus

ROCKDALE Services for Lillian Ida Backhaus, 86, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The Rev. Brian Bauer of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Miss Backhaus died Thursday at Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.
She was born in the Bushdale community near Rockdale and was a longtime resident of Rockdale. She worked at the Richards Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department for more than 20 years, until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was involved with WELCA.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Agnes Backhaus of Pearland; a sister, Eleanor Lamkin of Rockdale; a sister-in-law, Betty Backhaus of Rockdale; two nieces; three nephews; a great-niece; and two great-nephews.
Robert M. Blakely

Memorial services for Robert M. Blakely, 80, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the A&M United Methodist Church in College Station.
The Rev. Jerry Neff of the A&M United Methodist Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Blakely died Friday in the College Station Medical Center.
He was born in Grinnell, Iowa, and lived in College Station for four years. He formerly lived in Mission, Texas, and retired in 1989 from agricultural service sales. He received a bachelors degree from Iowa State University and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. In 1999 he received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Beta Nu Chapter. Throughout his life he was a member of the Masons, the Shriners and the Elks, twice serving as Exalted Ruler. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of A&M United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Blakely of College Station; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Sharon Blakely of Fresno, Calif., Bill and Cathy Blakely of Martinez, Ga., Lt. Col. Ron and Nancy Blakely of Chula Vista, Calif., and Denny and Debbie Blakely of Carmine; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Pat Kasper of College Station; two sisters, Virginia Lindsey and Harriet German; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.
Mr. Grimes died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Flynn and was retired from Garland Power & Light. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Flynn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bea Grimes of Flynn; three stepsons, Jonathan and Michael, both of The Woodlands, and Keith of Woodbury, Minn.; four daughters, Debbie, Brenda, Peggy and Lisa, all of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Sandy, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Audrey Risinger of Normangee; three sisters-in-law, Gwen Grimes, Louise Grimes and Gladys Grimes, all of Normangee; 15 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson died Tuesday at the Abilene State School in Abilene.
He was born in Branchville and was disabled.
Survivors include his father, Charlie Johnson of Odessa; a brother and sister-in-law, James and La Vera Johnson of Houston; two sisters, Hazel Eagleton of Houston and Katherine McCradic of Fort Worth; two aunts and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Pruitt died Thursday in Hermann Hospital in Houston.
She was born in Breckenridge and lived in Bryan since 1968. She was a homemaker and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emory Sessions Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Clint Pruitt of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Molly Miller of Lampasas; a daughter, Janice Mohr of Bryan; a brother, Marion F. Cooper of National City, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence B. Parrott, and a son, Clarence Murray Parrott.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Helen Parrott of Porter; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
