A funeral Mass for Carlos Mendias, 53, of Bryan is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan. Burial will be in Restever Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mendias died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and lived in Bryan for the past 20 years. He was a truck stocker in the shipping department at Alenco for 20 years. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Olga Mendias of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Carlos and Gabriella Mendias of Fort Worth; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carmen Diaz and Doyle Allen and Mayra and Rodney Ramirez, all of Bryan, and Alejandra Mendias of Mexico; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ramon and Francisca Mendias, Francisco and Irene Mendias and Ilario Mendias, all of Mexico; a sister and brother-in-law, Socorro and Jaime Segura of El Paso; and seven grandchildren.

Irene M. Sullivan
March 11, 1907 — April 16, 2002
NAVASOTA — Services for Irene M. Sullivan, 95, of Navasota are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota.
The Rev. Paul G. Felix will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to the time of services Thursday at the church. A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sullivan died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Chicago and lived in Navasota for 60 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Lynn Grove Home Demonstration Club and Christ Our Light Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Sullivan.
Survivors include two sons, John J. Nelson of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Robert John Sullivan of Tuskahoma, Okla.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Troy Butler Searcy
April 21, 1924 — April 15, 2002
CENTERVILLE — Services for Troy Butler Searcy, 77, of Centerville are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.
Bros. Billy Gunnels and Jim Bob Gunnels will officiate. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Searcy died Monday in a Tyler hospital.
He was born in Troup, Texas, and was a 1946 graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received a bachelor of science degree. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a B-17 pilot.
Mr. Searcy retired from Gulf Oil at the age of 58 after traveling extensively as general manager of worldwide data processing. He lived in Centerville for the past 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Herrin Searcy, and a son, Troy Neill Searcy.
Survivors include a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jody Herrin of Centerville; a daughter-in-law, Ginnie Searcy of Houston; one grandson; one nephew; and one niece.
John D. Chambers

CANYON LAKE, Texas — Services for John D. Chambers, 71, of Canyon Lake and formerly of Houston are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville.
The Rev. Malford Heirolzer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville under the auspices of Lee Scott Masonic Lodge #793 A.F.& A.M.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Chambers died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Somerville. He graduated from Somerville High School and attended the Unversity of Houston. He worked as a foreman for Cameron Iron Works in Houston until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Chambers was a member of both the Cade Lake and Somerville United Methodist Churches, Lee Scott Masonic Lodge #793 of Somerville, North Houston Morning Lodge #1360, San Jacinto Council #347, R&SM, and Will N. Kidd Chapter #424 R.A.M. Knight Templar of Texas Ruthven #2.
Survivors include his wife, Tommylu Chambers of Canyon Lake; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Warns of New Braunfels; two stepdaughters, Juana Clem McGhee of Atlanta and Betty Anthoney of Houston; a sister, Virginia Ann Head of Houston; two brothers, Hollis Chambers of Godley and Tommy Lee Chambers of Brenham.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bryan City Cemetery with Deacon Bill Scamardo officiating.
Ms. Carpenter-Martinez died Sunday.
She was born in Bryan.

Betty Jane Mireles

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Betty Jane Mireles, 64, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mrs. Mireles died Monday at the Richards Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Bastrop and lived in Rockdale for the past 40 years. She was a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amado Mireles.

Mrs. Reese died Tuesday in a Temple hospital.
She was born in Bryan, she worked as a school secretary and teacher’s aide in the Pearsall and Cameron school districts. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cameron, the Library Board and the Fleur De Lis Garden Club and a 50-year member of the Bastrop Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she had served as past worth matron.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Reese of Cameron; a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde Allan and Carolyn Reese of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Maurice Nethery of Huntsville; a brother, H.W. Hilton of Bryan; a sister, Sharon Moore of Bryan; and two grandchildren.
Pearl Boehme

DEANVILLE — Services for Pearl Boehme, 88, of Deanville are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Deanville.
Terry Bage will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Boehme died Tuesday in Kerrville.
She was born in Lee County and was a longtime resident of Deanville. She was a homemaker and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Boehme.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Lavern Boehme of Manor, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Harmel of Ingram, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Walter Marburger of Dime Box; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
