Mack Irvin Cooner
Jan. 19, 1918 — March 30, 2002
Services for Mack Irvin Cooner, 84, of College Station are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Callaway-Jones Chapel in Bryan.
The Rev. John Boyle of the Wellborn Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cooner died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in College Station and was a lifelong resident of Brazos County. He graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 1937 and owned and operated a dairy for 29 years and raised cattle for many years. He retired in 1984 from the Texas A&M University Physical Plant as a water well operator. He was a charter member of the Wellborn Special Utility District, was a member of the Adam Royder Lodge No. 778 A.F.&A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 222. He was a member of the Wellborn Baptist Church since 1943, where he served as deacon and past chairman of the deacon body, served as Sunday school superintendent, served on numerous church committees and was a member of the men’s adult Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Cooner.
Survivors include his wife, Lurleen Crenshaw Cooner of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Karen Cooner of Destin, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Katie Cooner of Austin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Diane Cooner of Willis, Texas, and William P. and Anna Cooner of Huntsville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lillie Schlinke of Taylor, Texas, and Ruth and Paul Napper of San Antonio; three brothers-in-law, Horace Barron of Taylor, Roy Hagler of College Station and Clifton Crenshaw of Mansfield, Texas; a sister-in-law, Louise Bullock of Bryan; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Justin Andrew Culbreth
March 12, 1974 — March 28, 2002
SANTA FE, Texas — Services for Justin Andrew Culbreth, 28, of Houston are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Fe.
The Rev. Alan Splawn will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Park Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Culbreth died Thursday in Plainview, Texas.
He was born in Bryan and lived in Houston for six months. He previously lived in Santa Fe, San Antonio and Lubbock. He was a graduate of Santa Fe ISD and was a home health care attendant and constructed communication towers for Avitech. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alta Loma.
Survivors include his wife, Casey Lynne Culbreth of Houston; two sons, Harlon William Culbreth and Haedon James Culbreth, both of Houston; his parents, David Harlon Culbreth Sr. of Santa Fe and Betty Joyce and Jim Rich of Crosby, Texas; his in-laws, Billie Miller and James and Andria Miller, all of Santa Fe; a grandmother, Jessie Culbreth of Madisonville; grandmother-in-law, Pat Rose of Santa Fe; a brother and sister-in-law, David Harlon Jr. and Jennifer Culbreth of Houston; a stepbrother, Samuel Rich of Pearland, Texas; three brothers-in-law, Jason Miller, Jacob Miller and Chad Miller, all of Santa Fe; a niece; and numerous other family members.

‘Ecie’ Mason Elliott

HEARNE — Services for “Ecie” Mason Elliott, 78, of Hearne are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Methodist Church in Hearne.
The Rev. Jack Hooper of Austin will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mrs. Elliott died Sunday at her home.
She was born in Jacksonville, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Forest B. Elliott of Hearne; three sons, F.B. “Tom” Elliott of Bryan, Jerry Mason Elliott and Carol Scott Elliott, both of Hearne; and a brother, Billy M. Mason of Richmond, Va.
Willie Murray
Sept. 13, 1909 — March 30, 2002
ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Willie Murray, 92, of Gause are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Murray died Saturday at the Cameron Nursing Center.
He was born in Gause and returned to Gause three years ago. He attended Gause School and graduated from Hearne High School. He lived in Nederland for more than 60 years and worked for Gulf State Utilities (later Entergy Utilities) as a plant control room operator before his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Pullin Murray.
Survivors include two stepsons, Junior and Earl; two stepdaughters, Mary Edna and Minnie Ruth; two brothers, Archie Murray of San Antonio and John T. Murray of Waco; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marie Simmons
July 18, 1922 — March 28, 2002
MADISONVILLE — Services for Marie Simmons, 79, of Huntsville are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville.
Burial will be in Colony Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Williams & Son Funeral Home in Huntsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Ms. Simmons died Thursday.
Survivors include a daughter, Alfreda Ross of New Waverly, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Asa and Mary Sillette of Huntsville; a sister-in-law, Novella Clark of Huntsville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Herman R. Cheatham

Herman R. Cheatham, 84, of Bryan died Saturday in the Bremond Nursing Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Cheatham was born in Madison County and lived in Bryan for many years. He was a retired home builder and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Gene Cheatham of Bryan; a daughter, Connie Mauldin of Willis; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Louis Stanley Czajkowski
Dec. 8, 1913 — March 29, 2002
BREMOND — Services for Louis Stanley Czajkowski, 88, of Bremond are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond.
The Rev. Scott Mikkelson of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Bremond.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary’s Recreational Building.
Mr. Czajkowski died Friday in Marlin.
He was a lifelong resident of Bremond and was a retired service station owner. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Polish National Alliance.
Survivors include his wife, Ester Czajkowski of Bremond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Diane Czajkowski and Richard and Sherri Czajkowski, all of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Paul Rozycki of Houston; two brothers, Fred Czajkowski of Bremond and Bruno Czajkowski of Houston; two sisters, Gertrude Colgin of California and Florine Glowski of Bremond; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Edmund Thedo Feldman
Oct. 10, 1915 — March 31, 2002
Services for Edmund Thedo Feldman, 86, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan.
The Rev. Neil Bockelmann of Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Feldman died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Marlin and lived in College Station since 1939. He was a member and elder of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was manager of the Food Services Department at Texas A&M University for 37 years, worked for the city of College Station for 10 years and served as bailiff for the Brazos County Courthouse.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mitzie Feldman.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Feldman of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Barbara Schneider of Carlos; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill Lakin of Houston, Ann and Joe Dockery of Franklin and Carla and Kenneth Kindt of Kurten; two brothers and a sister-in-law, August and Vera Feldman of Marlin and Ronnie Miller of Bryan; a brother-in-law, Joe Kurtz of Marlin; a sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Dan Timmerman of Jonesboro, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Erna Feldman of Marlin, Lydia Feldman of College Station and La Vada Ratcliff of Weatherford; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lillie Mae King

FRANKLIN — Services for Lillie Mae King, 96, of the Willow Creek community are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.
Matt Smith of Marquez will officiate. Burial will be in Bald Prairie Cemetery in Robertson County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. King died Monday in Franklin.
She was born in the Shiloh community of Robertson County. She lived in Houston for a short time before returning to the Willow Creek community in 1961. She was a homemaker and was one of the founding members of Bald Prairie Baptist Church and was a member of the Oletha Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Steele Johnson.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Mary Johnson and Wylie and Cam Johnson, all of Willow Creek; a sister, Annie Maud Martin of Brenham; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
