SOMERVILLE — Services for Arnold F. Poehl, 91, of Burleson County are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville.
The Rev. Darrin Holub will officiate. Burial will be in the Evangelical United Church of Christ Cemetery in Birch.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Poehl died Friday.
He was born in the Frenstat community of Burleson County and was a longtime resident of Burleson County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a butcher. He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Poehl of Hearne; a daughter, Maydell Hardy of Bryan; three sons, Lloyd Poehl of Somerville, Arvell Poehl of Caldwell and Robert Blinka of Bryan; two sisters, Louise Gray of Hearne and Ella Whitlock of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society or the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons.
Arthur Lawrence Ross Sr.

Services for Arthur Lawrence Ross Sr., 80, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Monday at United Full Gospel Baptist Church in Bryan.
The Rev. Clifton Stewart of Mount Olive Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wheelock.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.
Mr. Ross died Tuesday at Colton Inn.
He was born in Edge and lived in Bryan 55 years. He attended Wheelock public schools and was retired from the city of Bryan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Marie Ross of Bryan; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Arthur L. Jr. and Beverly Ross of Temple, Melvin Wade Ross and Calvin Dean and Sharyan Ross, all of Bryan; five daughters, Glenda Gale Ross, Eva Loise Ross, Patricia Amerson, Linda Phillips and Beverly Phillips, all of Bryan; three sisters, Doris Stidom of Cameron, Minnie Burns of Irving and Clotee Ross of Houston; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Willie Mae Smart
Sept. 23, 1913 — Oct. 31, 2002
NAVASOTA — Services for Willie Mae Smart, 89, of Navasota are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Holland Baptist Church in Navasota.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.
Mrs. Smart died Thursday.
She was born in Grimes County and was a member of St. Holland Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Stella Smart of Navasota; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Sarah Cornelia ‘Neet’ Nash

HEARNE — Services for Sarah Cornelia “Neet” Nash, 98, of Calvert are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Calvert.
The Revs. Jeff Riley of the First Baptist Church and John E. Green will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mrs. Nash died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was a longtime resident of Calvert and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was retired as a medical and dental assistant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nash; and a son, John Frank Nash.
Survivors include a sister, Annie Lucille Chumley of Channelview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William T. Wilson

CAMERON — Services for William T. Wilson, 83, of Milano are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.
The Rev. Charles Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson died Saturday in a Cameron hospital.
He was born in Friendship and was an aircraft mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Wilson of Milano; three sons, Stanley Wilson and Wade Wilson, both of Milano, and Clifford Wilson of San Antonio; a daughter, Linda Inman of San Antonio; two sisters, Hazel Davis of Temple and Flora Wingate of Dundee, Fla.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Mario Casarez
Feb. 11, 1955 — Oct. 26, 2002
Mario Casarez, 47, of Bryan died Oct. 26 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. No services are scheduled.
Mr. Casarez was a lifelong resident of Bryan and was a Catholic.
Survivors include an aunt, two uncles and a cousin.
Guy Colburn

NAVASOTA — Services for Guy Colburn, 78, of Bedias are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Rev. Jerald Brown of the First Baptist Church in Bedias will officiate. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery.
Mr. Colburn died Sunday.
He was born in Shiro and worked with the Road and Maintenance Department in Grimes County. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Colburn.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe Edd and Susan Pierce of Bedias; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy and Clayton Phillips of Houston and Jimmie Bailey of Bryan; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marguerite Estelle Bowles Mitchell

Graveside services for Marguerite Estelle Bowles Mitchell, 96, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bryan City Cemetery.
The Rev. Deborah Proctor of A&M United Methodist Church will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Mitchell died Sunday in the College Station Medical Center.
She was born in Austin and was a retired homemaker. She was a graduate of the University of Texas and received a master’s degree in library science from the University of Illinois. She was a member of A&M United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Mitchell.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William T. Mitchell of Houston and Ralph H. Jr. and Barbara Mitchell of Seattle; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Loney C. Bowles of Lubbock, and Joe and Harriete Bowles of Austin; and two sisters, Elizabeth Kinney of Austin and Madeline Giambruno of San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Louis M. Ramirez

Services for Louis M. Ramirez, 78, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ramirez died Saturday in Bryan.
He was born in Austin and was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Ramirez.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Johnny and Julia Ramirez, Louis Jr. and Allas Ramirez, and Eddie Ramirez, all of Bryan, and Lupe and Mary Ramirez of Dallas; seven daughters and six sons-in-law, Olivia and Amos Trejo Sr., Gloria R. Quintero, Annie and Robert Villarreal, Janie and Rudy Manriquez, Angie and Leo Cruz and Mary and Isaias Aquino, all of Bryan, and Josie Ramirez and Mario Lozano of Waller; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Sr. and Dora Ramirez, Johnny Sr. and Christina Ramirez and Tommy Sr. and Minnie Ramirez, all of Bryan; a sister, Virginia Mendez of Bryan; 44 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
