AUSTIN — Services for Major Gee Jones Sr., 57, of Austin and formerly of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United
Methodist Church in Austin.
Visitation will be at 7 p.m. Friday at King-Tears Mortuary Inc. in Austin.
Mr. Jones died Saturday.
He was a former teacher and coach at E.A. Kemp High School and Lamar Junior High School in Bryan. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Marie Hillman
June 29, 1906 — Dec. 21, 2002
NAVASOTA — Services for Marie Hillman, 96, of Navasota are set for 1 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.
The Rev. John Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hillman died Saturday at a Navasota nursing home.
She was born in Washington and was a hospital assistant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hillman.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; and a grandnephew.
Mavis Jewel Thigpin

MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Mavis Jewel Thigpin, 77, of Bedias are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Bedias Baptist Cemetery.
Lanier Stevens will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Mrs. Thigpin died Saturday at her home.
She was born in Grimes County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Elliot Thigpin Sr.; and a son, Morris Thigpin.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Dolores Thigpin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
William Asa Nickelson Jr.
Jan. 27, 1922 — Dec. 23, 2002
FRANKLIN — Services for William Asa Nickelson Jr., 80, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Franklin First Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jim Manning of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home of Franklin.
Mr. Nickelson died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
He was born in New Baden and was a lifelong resident of Franklin, where he was a rancher and owner of Franklin Lumber Company for 57 years. He was involved in many of Franklin’s business and civic organizations and he served in the Navy during World War II and was affiliated with numerous veterans organizations. He also helped organize and was a charter member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Nickelson of Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Karen Nickelson of Franklin; a brother and sister-in-law, Lad and Becky Nickelson; two sisters-in-law, Maggie Nickelson of Dallas and Jane Willis of Bremond; two brothers-in-law, Joe D. Wilson of Hearne and Hubert Willis and his wife Pat of Caldwell; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin First Baptist Church or the Scott & White Cancer Research Foundation, 2401 South 31st St., Temple, Texas 76501.
Guadalupe Jaime Ybarra
1933 – 2002
Guadalupe Jaime Ybarra went to be with her Lord on Christmas morning. She was born in Robertson County and lived in Bryan for 19 years. Mrs. Ybarra enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing and her Grandchildren.
She was a member of Unida En Cristo Iglesia de Pentecostes in Mumford, Texas.
Mrs. Ybarra is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Celia Jaime, two daughters, Carla Ybarra ans Gloria Luna , a brother, Vidal James, two Granddaughters, Amber Zavala and Amie Paulette, a Grandson, Simon Zavala, III and a Great Grandson, Tommy J. Paulette, III.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Pete Ybarra of Bryan, 4 Sons & Daughters-in-law; Charlie & Cheryl Zavala of Tyler, Texas, Simon & Antoinette Zavala, Pete & Corina Ybarra and George Ybarra all of Bryan. 4 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Lisa & Tony Sanders of Santa Fe, Texas, Sandra & Tony Bosquez and Frances & Leroy Vicencio all of Bryan and Celia & Juan Maciel of Jacksonville, Texas. 3 Brothers, Isaac James of Jacksonville, Texas, Daniel James of Donie, Texas and George James, Jr. of Carlos, Texas. 2 Sisters, Magdelena Flores and Ruth Navarro-Garcia both of Bryan, 33 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nieces , Nephews, Cousins and other friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Friday and from 8:30-10am Saturday in the Hillier Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will be held at 7pm Friday officiated by Reverend Lupe Ybarra. The Funeral Service will be at 10am Saturday in the Hillier Funeral Home with Reverends Bernardo Coronado and George Jaime officiating. Interment will follow in the Bryan City Cemetery.

Aubrey Edwin Cook, Sr.

Aubrey Edwin Cook, Sr., 50, of College Station, passed away on December 25, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Cook was born on April 5, 1952 to Morgan Cook, Sr. and Margaret Etheridge Cook in Bryan, Texas.
Aubrey was a lifetime resident of Bryan/College Station and worked as a cable splicer for Verizon. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Edith Miller Cook of College Station; his parents Morgan and Margaret Cook of College Station; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Shawn Cook and wife Kelly of Bryan, and Aubrey Cook, Jr. of College Station; two grandsons, Aubrey Cook, III of College Station, Augustus Cray Cook of Milano, one granddaughter, Cheyenne Cook of Bryan; and one brother, Morgan Cook, Jr. of College Station
Visitation is scheduled for Friday 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 noon - 2:30 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillier Funeral Home, with Rev. John Boyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Rice, Jim Richardson, Earl Hardcastle, Cotton Voigt, Darrel Barnett and Larry Glover.
Honorary pallbearers will be Morgan Cook, Jr., Morgan Cook, III, Aubrey Cook, Jr., Shawn Cook and George Rosier.

Audrey Handeyside Eversmeyer

BRENHAM — Memorial services for Audrey Handeyside Eversmeyer, 95, of Chappell Hill are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
The Rev. Karen Tudor will officiate.
Mrs. Eversmeyer died Wednesday in Chappell Hill.
She was born in Cotter, Wis., and was a retired teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point, Wis., and a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University. She taught in the Pasadena ISD from 1955 to 1973.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Edwin Eversmeyer.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Arden Eversmeyer of Houston and Floi Lynn Ewing of Chappell Hill; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Lena Falco

Services for Lena Falco, 93, of Mesquite are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bryan.
The Rev. Kirby Garner of St. Anthony Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Falco died Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Brazos County and formerly lived in Bryan. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo Falco.
Survivors include a son, Joe Falco of Mesquite; a brother, Sam Todaro of Houston; a sister, Corine Lorea of Houston; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bernice F. Gordon
March 13, 1914 — Dec. 25, 2002
Services for Bernice F. Gordon, 88, of College Station will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Los Angeles at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Gordon died Wednesday at Colton Inn.
She was born in Oakland, Calif., and lived in College Station since 1994. She had a master’s degree in Education and was a retired teacher. She taught in the Lynwood, Calif., Unified School District for many years. She was a former member of the Lynwood Methodist Church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jerry Maffei of College Station; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
