CALDWELL — Services for Daniel Lee “D.L.” Alford Jr., 87, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell.
The Revs. Cecil Lang of the First Presbyterian Church and Steve Stigler of the First United Methodist Church of Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mr. Alford died Monday in Caldwell.
He was a lifelong resident of Caldwell and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired insurance associate.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Alford.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Lee III and Mary Alford, and James Joseph and Kathy Alford, all of Caldwell; four grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or the Caldwell Rotary Club.
Paul Arevalo Sr.

Services for Paul Arevalo Sr., 53, of Bryan are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.
Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Arevalo died Saturday at St. Luke’s Hospital.
He was born in Caldwell and lived in Bryan most of his life. He was a supervisor for Thermo Insulation Company and was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church. He was a Little League coach for many years and played fast-pitch softball for Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Arevalo of Bryan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Jr. and Margarita Zambrano of Houston, Adrian and Missy Arevalo, and Jacque Arevalo and Holly Williams, all of Bryan; his father, Ben Arevalo of Bryan; siblings and their spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Perez, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arevalo Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Alonzo, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Arevalo, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Munoz, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Martinez, Mr. and Mrs. Bubba McCartney, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Arevalo, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Arevalo and Elena Arevalo, all of Bryan; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward H. Bush Sr.
June 9, 1920 — Dec. 8, 2002
Graveside services for Edward H. Bush Sr., 82, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bryan City Cemetery.
The Rev. Tim Owens of the First Baptist Church of Bryan will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Mr. Bush died Sunday at his home.
He was born in Morehouse Parish, La., and lived in Bryan since 1967. He graduated from Bryan school district and was the second Eagle Scout in Brazos County. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in agricultural engineering in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the Normandy invasion. He retired from the military in 1967, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, as a chemical, radiological and biological officer for Head Quarters Co. 49th Armored Division.
After the war, he was employed by Central Texas Equipment Company and was a cotton gin specialist for the Texas A&M Extension Service. In 1955 he served as executive vice president and treasurer of the Texas Cotton Ginners Association in Dallas. In 1968 he became the CEO of Central Texas Hardware Company until his retirement in 1976. After his retirement he became a full-time rancher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree mason and member of the Brazos Union Lodge 129.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Blazek Bush.
Survivors include a son, Edward H. “Joe” Bush Jr. of Bryan; a daughter, Susan Webb of Bryan; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
JoAnne Carlisle
Sept. 11, 1936 — Dec. 6, 2002
FRANKLIN — Services for JoAnne Carlisle, 66, of Oklahoma City, Okla., are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.
The Rev. Jim Manning of Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carlisle died Friday in Oklahoma City.
She was born in Elkhart, Ind., and lived in Oklahoma City since 1977. She was a real estate and bail bond insurer and worked for Surety Bail Bonds for 15 years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Carlisle of Oklahoma City; her mother, Arlene Wasson of Waterloo, Ind.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Cheryle Johnson of Conyers, Ga., Viki and James Sanders of Franklin, Niki and Larry Stovall of Bangs, Jackie Martin of Oklahoma City, and Kim and Daryl Reber of McCamey; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. and Debbie Carlisle of Clinton, Okla., and Billy Ray Carlisle Jr. of Oklahoma City; a sister, Sandra Meyer of Newport Richey, Fla.; two brothers, Mike Wasson of Auburn, Ind., and D.O. Wasson of Indiana; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Norma Lee Cottrell

CENTERVILLE — Norma Lee Cottrell, 40, of Centerville died Thursday as the result of an automobile accident near Centerville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. No services are planned.
Ms. Cottrell was born in Grayson, Ky., and lived in Centerville more than 20 years. She formerly lived in Houston and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Donna Gail and Robert Deveau of Houston; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy III and Sherina Cottrell and Kirk Lee Cottrell of Centerville; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Lee and Robert Scott of Houston; and a granddaughter.
Billy Jane Keelan

NAVASOTA — Services for Billy Jane Keelan, 80, of Navasota are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Rev. Don Kasper of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Courtney Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Keelan died Sunday in Tomball.
She was a lifelong resident of Navasota and was retired from the Navasota school district as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, where she served as past president.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Keelan.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, John Paul Keelan Jr. and Phillip W. Keelan, both of Navasota, and Richard L. and Susan Sue Keelan of Katy; and three grandchildren.
Laura Sowell

MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Laura Sowell, 88, of Lucas are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Allphin Cemetery in Elwood.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Allen.
Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Mrs. Sowell died Friday.
She was born in Lone Oak and was raised in Madison County. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Sowell.
Survivors include a daughter, Sohnne Hill of Allen; a sister, Carra Hering of Allen; and a brother, Quinton Yarbrough of Lucas.

CENTERVILLE — Services for J.C. Williams, 81, of the Redland community in Leon County are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.
The Rev. Red Etzel of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Centerville will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born and raised in the Redland community. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Houston from 1949 until his retirement as a painter in 1976.
Survivors include his wife, Ingerborg Williams of the Redland community; a son, Steve of the Redland community; a brother-in-law, Carl White of Kerrville; and a sister, Carrie Adams of Spring.
Charles Thomas Smith

SINGLETON — Services for Charles Thomas Smith, 79, of Bedias are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Revs. Jerald Brown of Bedias Baptist Church and Floyd Hoke of the Church at Singleton Bible Fellowship will officiate. Burial will be in the Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Saturday at his home.
He was born in Singleton. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of the Church at Singleton Bible Fellowship. He had served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Smith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sherrie Smith of Channelview; two brothers-in-law, J.C. Dyer of Navasota and Frank Ford and his wife, Marie, of Shreveport, La.; three sisters-in-law, Pauline and Terrance Dreher of Bedias, Betty and Lee Shed of Richards and Fannie Ford of Navasota; two grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
