NAVASOTA — Services for Dorothy Mae Gaines, 73, of Navasota are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Truevine Baptist Church.
The Rev. William Gantt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Navasota.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a wake service from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.
Mrs. Gaines died Sunday at College Station Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Navasota and was a homemaker and member of the Mission Department at Truevine Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Gaines.
Survivors include her son, Robert Gaines of Augusta, Ga.; four daughters and a son-in-law, Bettye and Richard Shelton of Arlington, and Verna, Barbara and Mary Gaines, all of Navasota; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Henry W. James Jr. of College Station and Alvin Lee and Georgia James Sr. of Houston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura C. James and Mary E. and Edward Rigsby, all of Houston; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one godchild.
Ardella Green Fobbs

Services for Ardella Green Fobbs, 74, of Bryan are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church.
The Rev. D.N. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Rest-Ever Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Fobbs died Sunday at Sherwood Health Care Facility.
She was born in Gause and was a housewife. She was a member of Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Fobbs Jr. of Bryan; a stepsister, Inez Taplin of Hearne; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Willie Jean Toines and Juanita and Willie Peterson, all of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Otis Charles Johnson Sr.

Services for Otis Charles Johnson Sr., 61, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
The Rev. S.L. Taplin will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Johnson died Monday at Sherwood Healthcare Facility.
He was born in Table and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. A self-employed painter, he attended Kemp High School and the University of California-Los Angeles.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, Otis Charles Johnson Jr. of Los Angeles, Merion Smith of Bryan and Sam Johnson of Madisonville; two daughters, Perlie B. Johnson and Melanie B. Johnson, both of Los Angeles; six brothers and four sisters-in-law, Alvin and Anita Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., Lawrence Johnson of Portland, Ore., Walter and Rosemary Johnson of Bryan, Marion and Joyce Johnson of Dallas, Anthony Quinn Johnson and John Edward and Karen Johnson, all of Bryan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tim and Gloria Johnson Childs of Portland, Ore., Nanshell Johnson Gills, Frankie Dishman, Joyce and David Johnson Price, all of Portland, Ore.; his parents, Carey Johnson Jr. and Velma of Santa Monica, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.

Ola Hight

ROCKDALE — Services for Ola Hight, 82, of Rockdale are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The Rev. Bobby Bridges of Mayfield Road Baptist Church in Arlington will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hight died Tuesday at the Providence Hospital in Waco.
She was born in Hillsboro and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rockdale Christian Church, a founding member of the Rockdale Senior Citizens Center and belonged to the Rockdale Home Demonstration Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.E. “Scottie” Hight.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carol Hight of Avon Park, Fla., and Pat and Terry Hight of Covington; a sister, Marcie Cullpepper of Dallas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Lois Threadgill Davison

Graveside services for Lois Threadgill Davison, 100, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.
The Rev. Dwight Edwards of Grace Bible Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Hme in Bryan.
Mrs. Davison died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Marlin and lived in Bryan for nine years. She was a Sunday school teacher and was a member of First Baptist Church of Marlin. She was also active in civic and charity work in the Marlin community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Milton Davison.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Joy Davison of Bryan, and Stephen and Elsie Davison and Milton and Jean Davison, all of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Jean Ann Manning

CALDWELL — Graveside services for Jean Ann Manning, 68, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Manning died Wednesday at her home. She was born in Aurora, Ill., and was a retired weaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie L. Manning.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Virginia Manning of Rockdale, Kenneth Manning and fianceé Beth of Houston, and John Manning of Louisiana; two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth and Lee Ellison and Tina Michelle Shirley, all of Caldwell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene and Emmitt Smith and Barbara and Ed Sorg, all of Aurora; her mother, Bessie Bedford Spears of Aurora; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Betty J. Hoosier

Services for Betty J. Hoosier, 77, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Callaway-Jones Chapel in Bryan.
Deacon Bill Scarmardo of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rest-Ever Memorial Park.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hoosier died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Chicago and lived in Bryan since 1982. She was retired after many years as a telephone operator with AT&T.
Survivors include her husband, William Hoosier of Bryan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tim and Janet Hoosier of Conroe, and Terry Hoosier of Bryan; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
William G. “Guy” Barnett
Jan. 31, 1917 — Jan. 16, 2003
CENTERVILLE — Services for William G. “Guy” Barnett, 85, of the Flo community near Buffalo are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Flo Community Baptist Church.
The Rev. Kenneth Stone will officiate. Burial will be in the Wheelock Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville and from 12:30 p.m. to the time of the services Monday at the church.
Mr. Barnett died Thursday in a Beaumont hospital.
He was born in Buffalo and lived in Leon County since 1987. He was raised and graduated from high school in Oakwood and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a combat engineer, receiving several medals. He lived in Houston and worked for the Shell Oil Company in Deer Park upon his release from the Army. He retired from Shell in 1986 after 34 years as a dock foreman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Barnett.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne K. Barnett of Houston and Sharon and Boyd P. Sifford of West Columbia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Monkress and Dorothy and Mac Collier, all of Dallas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ethel Chambers

Services for Ethel Chambers, 74, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan.
The Rev. James Williams of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Wheelock Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.
Ms. Chambers died Tuesday in Bryton Inn.
She was born in Wheelock and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. She was a homemaker and was a musician at her church.
Survivors include two brothers, Edward Chambers of Houston and Vernon Chambers of Denver; and two sisters, Elmira Ray and Velma Johnson, both of Bryan.
