Elsie L. Emshoff Dannhaus

BRENHAM — Services for Elsie L. Emshoff Dannhaus, 92, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem.
The Rev. Sid Bohls will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mrs. Dannhaus died Saturday in Brenham.
She was born in the New Wehdem community of Washington County and attended Pleasant Hill School. She was retired as cook for Pleasant Hill School and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dannhaus; and a son, Billy R. Dannhaus.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, John W. and Johanna Dannhaus of Brazoria, Elwood and Evyonne Dannhaus, and Patsy Dannhaus, all of Brenham; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem.
Woodrow Lee

JEWETT — Services for Woodrow Lee, 87, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett.
The Rev. Ray Vision will officiate. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.
Mr. Lee died Sunday in Bryan.
He was born in Corsicana and served in the U.S. Navy as a cook. He was retired from the Texas A&M University Physical Plant and R.B. Butler as a concrete carpenter. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 200 of Bryan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Lee of Bryan; three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Grudem Bounds of Giebelstadt, Germany, Bobby and Carol Bounds, and David and Laura Bounds, all of Bryan; seven step-grandchildren; a niece; three nephews; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Annie E. Pelzel
Aug. 17, 1913 — Jan. 12, 2003
ROCKDALE — Services for Annie E. Pelzel, 89, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The Rev. Doug Springer of the Rockdale Full Gospel Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockdale I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pelzel died Sunday at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale.
She was born in Taylor and lived in Rockdale all of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Rockdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pelzel Sr.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Henry Pelzel Jr. and Bobby and Janice Pelzel, all of Rockdale; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mildred A. and Doyle Kilgore, and Gertis A. Lindamood, all of Houston, and Betty A. and George Jezisek of Rockdale; two brothers, Henry A. Praesel of Rockdale and Lawrence Praesel of Hitchcock; a sister, Mary A. Bounds of Austin; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Ruth Ann Powell
June 14, 1923 — Jan. 13, 2003
Graveside services for Ruth Ann Powell, 79, of Bryan are set for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the College Station Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Hancock will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.
Ms. Powell died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Springfield, Ill., and worked at Texas A&M University for 27 years. The last area she worked in was the South Central Modern Language Association. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Powell.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Powell of Bryan, Robert and Betty Powell of Katy, and Steven and Lynn Powell of Hearne; and four grandchildren.
Cecil F. Reynolds

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Cecil F. Reynolds, 86, of Lexington are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lexington Cemetery.
The Rev. David White of the Lexington United Methodist Church will officiate.

Mr. Reynolds died Sunday in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
He was born in Lexington and returned to Lexington in 1994. He was a resident of Houston from 1942 to 1994. He was a construction engineer for Turner, Collins & Brady in Friendswood and worked for the City of Kingswood. He was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church, the Lexington Senior Citizens, Lexington Lions Club, and Woodmen of the World. He was a lifetime member of the Kingswood Country Club and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Survivors include his wife, Edna C. Reynolds of Lexington; two sons, Clayton Reynolds of Katy and Cecil Reynolds II of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Cherry and Bill Stover of Lexington; a brother, Ben Reynolds of Houston; a sister, Maggie Pinkston of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Grace Reynolds of Lexington and Pauline Reynolds of Houston; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Alvin Louis Brinkmann
July 5, 1923 — Jan. 11, 2003
DEANVILLE — A funeral Mass for Alvin Louis Brinkmann, 79, of Deanville and formerly of Brenham is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Rosary Catholic church at Frenstat.
The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Strickland Funeral Home chapel in Caldwell.
Mr. Brinkmann died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple.
He was born in the Birch community of Burleson County, attended school there and later graduated from the Dublin School of Watch Repair. Mr. Brinkmann served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by H.W. Arp Jewelry in Brenham as a watchmaker and repairman for 17 years and later at the Brenham Wholesale Grocery Company, where he worked for 17 years until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Brinkmann was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Frenstat, a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3287 in Brenham, the Buddy Wright Post of the American Legion in Brenham, the Brenham Disabled American Veterans and the Sheriff’s Association of Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Teresa Brinkmann of Deanville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin Bruce and Sheryl Brinkmann and Michael James and Renee Brinkmann, all of Brenham; a sister, Lydia Urbanovsky; five sisters-in-law, Gladys Brinkmann, Selma Brinkmann, Frances Valerian, Hattie Provazek, Olga Provazek; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Adolph and Florence Provazek and Alphonse and Ella Provazek; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
James Douglas Shows

A private family burial will take place at a later date for James Douglas Shows, 82, of Bryan.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Shows died Monday at Bryton Inn in College Station.
He was born in College Station and was a longtime resident of Bryan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a stepsister, Dorothy Nichols of Bryan; and several cousins and friends.
Rosita Francis ‘Rose’ Edinburgh

HUNTSVILLE — A funeral mass for Rosita Francis “Rose” Edinburgh, 91, of Huntsville and formerly of Texas City is set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville.
Visitation and a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickson.
Mrs. Edinburgh died Tuesday at Ella Smither Geriatric Center in Huntsville.
She was born in New Orleans. She was a resident of Texas City from 1912 until 1997 and a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donald R. and Patricia Edinburgh of Dallas, Wayne E. and Pamela Edinburgh of New Waverly, Michael D. and Judy Edinburgh of Montgomery and William K. “Bill” Edinburgh of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole Ann and Jerry C. Cooper of College Station; a former daughter-in-law, Ella Edinburgh of Texas City; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Church or Our Lady of Fatima School in Texas City.

Roy Honea of Franklin, a cousin of Mrs. Mathis, will officiate. Burial will be in the Norwood Cemetery in Hearne.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mathis died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Robertson County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hearne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Buck Mathis.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Lacy Blair of Franklin, Marvelyn and Charles Cotropia of Garland and Vickie and Jim Cooper of Hearne; a twin brother and sister-in-law, Brady and Mary Stark of Angleton; two sisters, Lois Rice of Franklin and Clistie Walker of Hearne; a sister-in-law, Sue Stark of Hearne; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
