Services for Vivian Louise Smith, 89, of College Station are set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.
The Rev. Malcolm Bane will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Friday at Colton Inn.
She was born in Goreville, Ill., and lived in College Station since 1947. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in College Station.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Pat Smith of Houston, Richard and Norma Smith of Bryan and Bradley and Ellen Smith of Sugar Land; a brother and sister-in-law, Gail and Tena Bradley of Texas City; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Plantt Wade

Services for Dorothy Plantt Wade, 78, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the A&M Church of Christ in College Station.
Forre Grove and Ken Wilke of the A&M Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellborn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Wade died Friday in the College Station Medical Center.
She was born in Burleson County and lived in College Station since 1943. She was a graduate of a business college and a nursing school and was a retired nurse. She was a member of the A&M Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Earl Graham American Legion Post No. 159 in Bryan.
Survivors include her husband, James Wade of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Wade and Fred McNiel of Stamford and Locke Wade and Jerry Morgan of College Station; a brother, Glenn Plantt of Bryan; a sister, Hazel Broderick of Houston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lloyd W. Washington

HOUSTON — Services for Lloyd W. Washington, 91, of Houston are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bateman Center in Houston.
The Revs. Leslie Hurd Sr. of Mayo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan and Johnnie F. Jackson of New Life Church of God in Brenham will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Mortuary.
Mr. Washington died Sunday in Houston.
He was born in Burleson County. He was a former member and deacon of Morning Star Baptist Church and was a member and deacon at Globe Hill Baptist Church at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Lee Phenix Washington; two daughters, Jewel and Erie Mae; and two sons, L.W. and Willie Gene.
Survivors include five daughters and two sons-in-law, Pauline Bryant, Joyce Melton and Mildred Dorsey, all of Houston, Lorene and the Rev. Johnnie Jackson of Burton and Aquila and the Rev. Leslie Hurd of Willis; three sons, Delbert Lee Washington of Portland, Ore., C.J. and Kathy Washington and Robert and Margaret Washington, all of Houston; two sisters, Hattie Mae Jones and Paralee Hodge, both of Houston; 41 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Cindy Bradley Harroff

Cindy Bradley Harroff, 38, of Paris passed away Friday, January 10, 2003, at Christus-St. Joseph’s Hospital South, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 13th at the funeral home chapel with Patrick Cannon & Jeff Christian officiating. Graveside rites are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Monday at College Station City Cemetery in College Station. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Cindy was born Sept. 23, 1964 in San Antonio, the daughter of J.R. & Ruth Ewer Bradley. She married Shawn Harroff on May 20, 1990 in College Station. She graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station and then earned a BA degree in accounting from Texas A&M University, College Station, after which she earned her CPA license. She worked for Mobil Oil Company in Dallas for seven years and then became a stay-at-home mom for Danielle, Haley and Hunter. One year ago she began working as a cost accountant for Weyerhaeuser in Valliant, Oklahoma. She attended the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ and was a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Survivors include her husband, Shawn. Three children: Danielle, Haley and Hunter Harroff of the home. Her parents, J.R. & Ruth Bradley of College Station. One Brother: Chris Bradley of Sterling, Virginia. Her mother-in-law: Elaine Cornell & husband Charles of Houston. Her father-in-law: Hiram Harroff & wife Leona of Gladewater. Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Karl Harroff & wife Bridget, Molly Stephens & husband Roy, Jeremy Roberts, Rebecca Harroff, Cheri Ballew, Reese Chapman, Caleb Chapman, Trey Chapman & wife Carleigh, Anita Cornell & Kyle Cornell along with numerous aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Velma Blanchard Stover

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Graveside services for Velma Blanchard Stover, 89, of Springdale, Ark., are set for 3 p.m. Monday at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.
The Rev. Philip W. McLarty will officiate.
A reception for the family will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the parlor of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Stover died Jan. 4 in Springdale.
She was born in Port Arthur and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stover; and a daughter, Lucille Stover Foster.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Sparks of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
Lillian L. Laurence

ROCKDALE —Funeral services for Lillian L. Laurence, 85, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
Bill Whaley of Murray Street Church of Christ and Donnie Laurence will officiate.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Laurence died Saturday.
She was born in Beaumont and lived in Rockdale for the past 48 years. She was a business secretary for Texas Utilities Electric. Mrs. Laurence was a member of the Murray Street Church of Christ and a volunteer for Vista Care Hospice, where she was the first recipient of the Lillian Laurence Volunteer of the Year award and won a lifetime achievement award in 2002. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was a charter member of the Young at Heart Club and was involved with the Bloom Where You Are Bible class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie L. Laurence.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald Earl Laurence of Arlington, Donald Ray Laurence Sr. of South Fork, Colo., and Ernest Wayne Laurence Sr. of Hutto; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Dymke of Maple Falls, Wash.; a sister, Rose Evelyn Heil of Pearland; a sister-in-law, Ruby Pearl Morris of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorials made be made to the Friends of Hospice or any charity benefiting the Rockdale area.
Edward Anderson Buffington
July 20, 1918 — Jan. 10, 2003
NAVASOTA — Funeral services for Edward Anderson Buffington, 84, of Anderson are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson.
The Rev. Ben Shawhan, formerly of St. Paul’s Episcopal, will officiate.
Nobles Funeral Chapel of Navasota is handling arrangements.
Mr. Buffington died Friday.
He was born in Anderson and was a retired postmaster. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, three Bronze Battle Stars and many other decorations. He belonged to Orphans Friend Masonic Lodge No. 17.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Lloyd Garber Buffington of Anderson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Allison Buffington of Houston and Barbara and Brian Walker of Missouri City.
Memorial may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Walter Oliver Mosely Jr.
Dec. 13, 1913 — Jan. 9, 2003
MADISONVILLE —Funeral services for Walter Oliver Mosely Jr., 89, of North Zulch are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Madisonville Funeral Home.
The Rev. Dwayne Mallett of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday.
Mr. Mosely died Thursday.
He was born in North Zulch and lived in Iola since 1989, where he had moved to from Kermit. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in agricultural engineering and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Mosely was a member of Kermit Masonic Lodge No. 1258; the Knights Templar of Texas in Odessa, VFW Post No. 15045 and the American Legion. He also owned and operated a portrait and camera shop in Fort Stockton and Kermit.
He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Midge Sorrells of North Zulch and Norma and William Burkhardt of Houston; a brother and sister-in-law, A.A. “Buster” and Louise Mosely of North Zulch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
