CALDWELL Services for Ebodio Ortega Vasquez, 84, of Caldwell are set for 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Caldwell.
The Rev. Diimitri Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Vasquez died Tuesday in Caldwell.
He was born in Somerville and was a longtime resident of Caldwell. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad and was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe Vasquez; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Alice Vasquez and John and Marina Vasquez, all of Caldwell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and David Cormier of Paulina, La., and Rosie and Jerry Groves of Caldwell; three brothers, Inez Vasquez of Somerville, Augustine Vasquez of Temple and Santos Vasquez of Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Marcus Vega of Snook; and nine grandchildren.

BRENHAM Services for Alvis Lorenz Fuchs, 78, of Brenham are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.
The Revs. Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer will officiate. Burial will be in the Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mr. Fuchs died Tuesday in Brenham.
He was born in Burton. He graduated from La Grange High School and served in the U.S. Army in 1945-46. He was a retired salesman and member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melva Dietrich Fuchs.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Arning Fuchs of Brenham; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Walter Winkelmann of New Braunfels and Judy and Ronnie Haevischer of Brenham; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Millie Ann Fuchs of Nacogdoches; a sister, Maydell Garner of Austin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.

CALVERT Services were held Wednesday for Jewerl Thompson, 83, of Calvert at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Burial was in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Paul Funeral Home in Marlin.
Mrs. Thompson died Friday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. She was born in Franklin.
Survivors include three daughters, Billie, Betty and Fate Thompson of Calvert; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives.
Grace Moore Hampton

TUPELO, Miss. Services for Grace Moore Hampton, 74, of Woodland, Miss. are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland, Miss.
The Rev. Jack Montgomery will officiate.
The body will lie in state one hour before the time of services at the church. Burial will be at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hampton died Monday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
She was born in Calhoun County, Miss., and was a retired seamstress. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis O. Hampton of Woodland; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Curtis Kendall of Houston, Brenda and John Thomas of College Station and Glenda and Bobby Clark of Memphis; a brother, Cliff Moore of Randolph; two sisters, Louise Parker of Pontotoc, Miss., and Clara Willingham of North Port, Ala.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
Mrs. Lewis died Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham.
Born in Somerville, she graduated from Somerville High School and was a member of Somerville Chapter No. 245 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Milton L. Lewis of Snook; three daughers and sons-in-law, Betty and William Ray Swabado of Kingwood, Nanette and Gerald Zernial of Brenham and Leatrice Lewis of Austin; a brother, Joys Emett Shelburne of Beaumont; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lone Oak Baptist Church.

Services for Margaret Ruffino Morella, 101, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
The Rev. Kirby Garner will officiate. Entombment will be in the Monsignor Gleissner Mausolem.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morella died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
A lifelong resident of Brazos County, she was the owner and operator of Nu-Way Grocery Store in Bryan, a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Alter Society there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Tony Morella.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Nadine Morella of Houston and Louis and Geneva Morella of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Jo and Ed Gillar of Bryan; two sisters-in-law, Lucille and Virginia Ruffino, both of Bryan; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund or St. Joseph Catholic School Trust Fund.

HEARNE Services for Philen Mahan, 88, of Hearne are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Hearne.

Arrangements are under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mr. Mahan died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in the Elliott community and was a longtime resident of Hearne. He was a retired painter and carpenter, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hearne.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Frances Mahan of Hearne; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Tennie Mahan of Hearne; two brothers, John Mahan of the Elliott community and Joe Mahan of Hearne; and a sister and brother-in-law, Irene Couch and Ancel Boswell of Hearne.

Mrs. Hudson died Monday at College Station Medical Center. Born in Union Church, Miss., she was a longtime employee of Verizon, beginning as an operator and retiring in 1986 as a frame technician. She was a member of the Christian Science Society.
Survivors include two sons, Emmett Corky Hudson of Austin and Cliff Hudson of Bryan; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Carraway died Wednesday at Madison St. Joseph Health Center in Madisonville.
Born in Magnolia, he was retired from Southwestern Bell and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Estelle Carraway.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Carraway of Madisonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and O.V. Gutierrez of Houston; two stepsons and a daughter-in-law, Mike Tollison of Huntsville and Timothy and Jeannie Tollison of Madisonville; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Ricky Smith of Madisonville and Terry and Kenneth Allen of Woodville; a brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Virginia Carraway of Madisonville; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and J.D. Akers of Iola; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
