REVEREND V.O. (BILL) BLANKENSHIP
V.O. (Bill) Blankenship, retired Methodist minister, passed away, Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at his residence in Waco.
Rev. Blankenship was born, August 30, 1930 to V.O. and Mary Floyd Blankenship, Sr., in Custer County, Oklahoma. After attending Lon Morris Junior College, he graduated from Texas Wesleyan University on an academic scholarship. He received his Master of Divinity in 1960 from Brite Divinity School in Ft. Worth. Rev. Blankenship was a member of the Central Texas Conference until his completion of the seminary after which he became a member in his home conference, the Texas Annual Conference. He was instrumental in establishing many new churches and retired from the United Methodist Church after 52 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Blankenship of Waco; daughter, Lecia Avey and husband, Gene of Washington; son, Bradley Blankenship and wife, Cindy of Waco; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron and Jordan Grant, Trey Avey, Amanda Blankenship and Cathie Ehlers and husband, Randy, great-grandchildren, Kaelie, Staci, and Raenee Ehlers, brothers, Thomas and Floyd Blankenship, sisters, Sue Young, Ruth Vaughn, Mary Jane Jimmerson and Linda Pierson, his best friend and beloved dog, Bozo, as well as many other friends and family that loved him and will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2002 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 11 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002 at First United Methodist Church of Waco with Rev. Steve Ramsdell, Bishop Ben Chamness, Dr. Allen Goss, Rev. Jack Cox and Rev. Nancy Ross as officiants.
Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Earl’s Chapel Cemetery located near Jacksonville. Tx.
Pallbearers will be Roy Knight, Mike Fields, Randy Ehlers, Kip Wright, Earl Goodwin, George Brabham, Thomas Blankenship and Nathan Grant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Mosheim United Methodist Church, Sid Clark, Al Willeart, Nolan Eschete, Bill Martin, Rev. Gene Chamness, Charlie Leeah, Bill Brannon, Don Hanson, Chuck Knox, Ben Koudelka, Don Rodgers, James White and Fred Ragsdale.

RICHARD GUY BRUCE
Richard Guy Bruce, 34, of Mont Belvieu, passed away, Tuesday, September 24, 1002 at home.
Richard was born April 16, 1968 in Pasadena, Tx. Richard was a waiter and a member of Bering Methodist Church in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers. Nathan Bruce, Sr. and Roy Sheetz.
Richard is survived by his parents, Nathan and Donna Bruce of Mont Belvieu; grandmothers, Betty Bruce and Nora Sheetz both of Waco; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Michael Russell of Mont Belvieu; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Glenda Bruce of College Station; nephews, Blake Russell, Nathan and Austin Bruce and niece, Natalie Russell.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. today, September 26, 2002 at Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2002 at Waco Memorial Cemetery in Waco.

DIANE FAMULARO
Diane Famularo, 59, of Baytown, passed away, Saturday, September 21, 2002 in a Houston hospital.
Born in Chicago to Homer and Juanita Brown, she moved to Houston with her family in 1947. She graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School and married her first husband, Pete Walker. In 1970, she moved to Tarkington Prairie, then to Baytown in 1980. In 1983, she married Joe Famularo. For the last 12 years, she managed the B & L Donut Shop on Decker Drive until her death. Diane adored her grandchildren and loved life and family, first and foremost. When she wasn’t charming her customers with her dazzling eyes, she enjoyed the Home Shopping Network and adding to her elaborate shoe and earring collections and Christmas time was her favorite time of the year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband of 19 years, Joe Famularo; son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Jennifer Walker of Magnolia; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Mike Dancy, Renee and Glenn Myrick all of Magnolia; brothers, Dennis Brown and Homer Brown, both of Baytown; sister, Charlotte Lunceford of Carthage and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. today, September 25, 2002 at L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Powers, Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery.

ELVIN I. JACKSON
Elvin I. Jackson, of Mariette, Okla., was born, February 1, 1927 in Oswalt, Okla., to William F. and Ola Roach Jackson. He passed away, Sunday, September 22, 2002, in Woodview Nursing Home, Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 21 days.
A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Jackson attended several schools in Love County. He and Rosa Mae Freeman were married in Marietta on June 30, 1945. Mr. Jackson was retired from Marietta Sportwear after 25 years of employment, working as a cutter. He loved talking and sharing with people. Mr. Jackson cherished spending time with his family, and he enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing. He was a member and deacon of the Enville Community Church.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Jackson on June 1, 2001, his stepmother, Belvia Jackson and a brother, Lloyd Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Mae Jackson of Marietta; sons and daughters-in-law, David Lee and Camellia Jackson of Texarkana; Bobby Glenn and Sue Jackson of Baytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Marie and Richard Andrews of Baytown; Dawnyce and Ron Winkles of Ardmore; daughter-in-law, Dora Jackson of Marietta; brothers, J.M. Jackson of Ardmore; Gene Jackson of Courtney, Okla.; sisters, Lucille Sloan of Marietta; Christine Jones of Lone Grove; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at Enville Community Church in Enville, Okla. with Bro. Hubert Sponsler and Bro. Don Keizor.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Pallbearers will be Rickie Willis, B.G. Caldwell, Jeff Willis, James Minyard, Randall Jackson and Wayne Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

BEVERLY ELAINE MCDANIEL PFEUFFER
Beverly Elaine McDaniel Pfeuffer, born July 6, 1938 in Mont Belvieu/Barbers Hills, Tx., departed this life Wednesday, September 18, 2002.
Elaine was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Matthews McDaniel and her father, John Andrew “Jack” McDaniel.
She is survived by her brother, Gordon K. McDaniel of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephews, James and John McDaniel of Sugar Land; aunts and uncle, Ann Lee and Joe Matthews of Mont Belvieu; Bessie McDaniel of Mont Belvieu; cousins, Guy E. Matthews of Houston; Frank M. Jordan of Liberty; Jan Jordan Hale of Robinson; Terry and Floyd House of Houston and numerous other relatives.
She resided at her home in New Braunfels, Tx. where she enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and a host of friends. “Aunt Elaine” will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Navarre Funeral Home from 3 - 6 today, September 21, 2002 and Sunday, September 22, 2002.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 23, 2002 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Young officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery on Ferry Road.

EUNICE LAVADA WALKER WOOSTER
Mrs. Eunice Lavada Walker Wooster, 90, of Nacogdoches, passed away, Friday, September 20, 2002 in Nacogdoches.
She was born on February 26, 1912 in Montgomery county, Texas to Robert Walker and Mary Jane Dean Walker. Eunice was a homemaker and was a member of the County Line Primitive Baptist Church of Cut - N - Shoot.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Lewis Wooster.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Wooster and Sue of Jacksonville; Ralph Wooster and Edna of Beaumont; daughter and son-in-law, Nell Teer and Jerry of Nacogdoches; sister, Margie Frye of Sealy; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2002 at County Line Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2002 at County Line Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Dean officiating.
Interment will be at County Line Cemetery.
