James ‘Jake’ T. Reed Jr.

BEDIAS — Services for James “Jake” T. Reed Jr., 79, of Iola are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Iola Missionary Baptist Church.
The Rev. Scott Jones of the Iola Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Pankey Cemetery in Grimes County.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.
Mr. Reed died Tuesday.
He was born in Bedias and retired after 27 years of service with the Grimes County Road Maintenance Precinct 1. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Reed of Iola; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Butch Vaughn of Iola; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Maria Reed of Iola; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Elizabeth Ann ‘Betty’ Turek
July 15, 1925 — March 10, 2003
ANGLETON — Graveside services for Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Turek, 77, of Angleton are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bryan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton and from 1 p.m. to the time of services Thursday at the cemetery.
Mrs. Turek died Monday in Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson.
She was a lifelong resident of Bryan before moving to Angleton in 1998. She was a retired grocery cashier, a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Bryan and a member of the Texas Cowboy Church in Orchard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Turek.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Edwin “Red” and Mel Cloud of Louisiana; a brother-in-law, Albert Turek of Bryan; three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Turek and Lynette Turek, both of Angleton, and Lauranne and R.O. Murray of Rosenberg; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5005 Mitchelledale, No. 115, Houston, Texas 77092, in her name.
Lola Faye Webb

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Services for Lola Faye Webb, 72, of Navasota were held Tuesday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Birmingham, Ala.
Burial was in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham.
Ms. Webb died Saturday in a Navasota nursing home.
She was born in Gadsten, Ala., and was a retired beautician.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Charles Cole of Navasota; and a grandchild.
Andrea Annette Golden

Services for Andrea Annette Golden, 48, of Flynn are set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Normangee.
The Revs. Bill Lanigan and Ken Archer of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Upton Family Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Golden died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Houston and lived in Flynn since 1984. She was a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Normangee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Normangee.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Golden of Flynn; a son, Dylan James Golden of Flynn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Dawn and David Nichols, and Jamie Lynn and Chris McCravey, all of Normangee; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Carl Wylie of Jewett; her mother, Sybil Upton of Flynn; three grandchildren; three nieces; and a grand-nephew.
Kaitlyn Brianne Nunez

NAVASOTA — Graveside services for Kaitlyn Brianne Nunez, infant, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.
The Rev. Paul Felix of Christ Our Light Catholic Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota.
Kaitlyn died Sunday in Memorial-Hermann Hospital in Houston.
She was born in Houston.
Survivors include her parents, Santiago and Stephanie Nunez of Navasota; a sister, Alyssa Nunez of Navasota; her grandparents, Consuelo Nunez of Navasota and Eva and Eduardo Ulloa of Kurten; and her great-grandmother, Margaret Mickey of Navasota.
Daniel Fred Piwonka
July 21, 1922 — March 9, 2003
CALDWELL — Services for Daniel Fred Piwonka, 80, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.
The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin and Monsignor Emilian Foltyn will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Piwonka died Sunday.
He was born in Deanville and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his return to Burleson County, he owned and operated Piwonka Grocery & Service Station from 1946 to 1956. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in March 1982. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, SPJST, AARP, Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum, and served as commander for the American Legion five years.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Piwonka of Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Alice Piwonka of Caldwell; three sisters, Elizabeth Marek and Josephine Polansky, both of Caldwell, and Grace Washburn of Houston; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Whited of Milano, Evelina and E.J. Carle of San Antonio and Deanie Paukert of La Marque; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, John Paukert of Houston and Frank and Fay Paukert of La Marque; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund.
Wanda N. Wilder

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Wanda N. Wilder, 73, of Waco are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Retreat Cemetery near Thorndale.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Wilder died Saturday at her home.
She was born in San Antonio and lived in Waco for 12 years. She was a resident of Rockdale from 1982 to 1989. She was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Rhett Wilder Jr. of Waco; a son, Rhett Wilder III of Houston; a daughter, Beverly K. Wilder of Waco; a sister, Deloris McDonnell of Burleson; a half-sister, Felcia Spearmann of Sacramento, Calif.; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Hardy Leon Williams

BUFFALO — Services for Hardy Leon Williams, 79, of Buffalo are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Buffalo Funeral Home.
The Rev. Claude Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams died Sunday in Buffalo.
He was born in Durrant, Okla., and lived in Plantersville for more than 10 years, moving from Anahuac. He was a Baptist and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned Oil Well Services and gauged leases in the Gulf of Mexico for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Lee Williams; a daughter, Roberta “Berta” Lee Silva; and a son, Michael Hardy Williams.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Buster Elrod Lundholm of Waller, Rita and Michael McBroom of Pasadena and Thelma and Mike Gressett of Buffalo; three brothers, Travis Williams of Iola, Claude Williams of Red Rock and Albert Williams of Ashland, Ore.; a sister, Christine Sutterfield of East Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Christine ‘Chris’ Wymola

Services for Christine “Chris” Wymola, 94, of the Edge community are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.
Ms. Wymola died Friday at Sherwood Health Care.
She was born in Brazos County and was a lifelong resident of the Edge community near Bryan. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include three nephews and their spouses, Alfred and Elizabeth Wymola of Bryan, Eugene and Gloria Wymola of San Augustine, Fla., and Frank Wymola of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous other relatives.
