Services for Lovi Jay Williams, 56, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Assemblage of Praise Church in Bryan.
Bishop M.C. Williams of Endtime Evangelistic Pentecostal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.
Mr. Williams died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Brady and lived in Bryan for 46 years. He was a custodian and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972. He was a graduate of E.A. Kemp High School and was a member of Endtime Evangelistic Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda N. Williams Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, Ocie L. Owens Williams of Bryan; two brothers, Bishop Melvin C. Williams of Bryan and Johnny L. Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Shirley F. Felder of Bryan and the Rev. Gwendolyn J. Williams of Pensacola, Fla.; his mother, Johnnie M. Williams of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Eleanor Watson
1913 – March 7, 2003
Mary Eleanor Watson, 90, died March 7, 2003 surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Watson, an infant son, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay Don and Diana Watson of Bryan; her daughter and son-in-law DeAnn and Jodie Keilberg of Giddings; two brothers, Mervin "Bud" Cross of Caldwell and Pat Cross of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Mille Simpson of El Campo; two grandsons and their wives, Jay Davis and Molly Watson, and Whitney and Brandy Keilberg; and two great-grandchildren, Kamyree Keilberg and John Davis Watson.
A lifelong resident of Burleson County, she attended Mary Hardin Baylor and began teaching school at age 18. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Caldwell.
Services will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2003. Family visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home.

Lee Ross Batson
June 15, 1915 — March 11, 2003
Services for Lee Ross Batson, 87, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Steep Hollow Baptist Church in Brazos County.
The Rev. Dale Suel of Steep Hollow will officiate. Burial will be in George Cemetery in Madison County.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Mr. Batson died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in George and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. He worked as a general contractor until becoming plant superintendent for the College Station I.S.D. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona McDonald Batson.
Survivors include two sons, Ross Batson and Donald Batson, both of Bryan; two sisters, Ruth Carrigan of Centerville and Doris Gast of Clifton; a brother, Joe “Sparky” Batson of Bryan; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Otis and Dixie McDonald of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces.

Cynthia Diane Cravey
Aug. 21, 1962 — March 11, 2003
CENTERVILLE — Services for Cynthia Diane Cravey, 40, of Marquez are set for 4 p.m. Friday at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
The Rev. Ray Payne of Ephesus Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.
Ms. Cravey died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Galveston and was a resident of Leon County for 24 years. She was a certified nurse’s aide and worked at the Buffalo Nursing Home four years.
Survivors include her mother, Joan Perry of Robbins; her children’s father, Bobby Cravey of Jewett; a son, Jake Howard Cravey of Jewett; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Elaine Cravey and Steven Chad McDaniel of Jewett and Jamie Elizabeth Cravey of Marquez; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Janie and James Wilson of Hitchcock, Anna Doherty and Betty and Rodney Cravey, all of Jewett, and Theresa Reyna of Robbins; and two grandchildren.
Charlie Lednicky
Sept. 21, 1917 — March 11, 2003
SOMERVILLE — Services for Charlie Lednicky, 85, of Snook and formerly of Houston are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lednicky died Tuesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Burleson County and moved to Snook upon his retirement. He was a minister with the Assemblies of God Church for 40 years and established three churches in the Houston area, where he lived for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Lednicky of Snook; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Lednicky of Houston and Maurice and Marcia Lednicky of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas R. ‘Tom’ Underwood
Dec. 13, 1926 — March 11, 2003
ROCKDALE — Memorial services for Thomas R. “Tom” Underwood, 76, of Rockdale are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Rockdale.
The Rev. Greg Nichols of the First Christian Church will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Underwood died Tuesday in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
He was born in Bartlett and lived in Rockdale 41 years. He was a teacher in Sharp and Rogers and was a teacher, coach and principal in Lexington and later in Rockdale until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was also a rancher. He was a member and elder of the First Christian Church in Rockdale and was a member and counselor with Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a graduate of San Gabriel High School and received his bachelor’s degree at Texas Christian University and his master’s from the University of Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Peebles Woodward.
Survivors include his wife, Ascencia “Dose” Underwood of Rockdale; a son, Thomas Roger Underwood III of Athens; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay Woodward and Paul Van Dorn of Lexington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mildred Chaney Hodges

NAVASOTA — Services for Mildred Chaney Hodges, 91, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Rev. David Kline of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wheat Cemetery in Millican.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodges died Monday in Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.
She was born in Anderson and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lois Ann Hodges and Ray Ward of Millican, Sue Hodges and Jack Phillips of Montgomery and Ruth Hodges Coower of Navasota; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Page died Monday in Arlington.
She was born in Brazos County and was a retired property manager. She lived and worked most of her life in the Waco-Killeen area.
Survivors include her husband, Staff Sgt. (Ret.) John F. Page of Arlington; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Kiser of Temple and Jerry and Diane Scheller of Waco; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Paul McGaugh of Arlington; a daughter-in-law, Bernie Kiser of Woodway; a sister, Kathleen Cates of College Station; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Dixon Carol Ray

CALDWELL — Services for Dixon Carol Ray, 59, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 7:30 a.m. to the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ray died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was a former resident of Muleshoe and was a partner in K&R Measurements of Bryan. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Porter Ray of Caldwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Lanael Collins of Somerville; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Gordon Johnson of Bryan; and three grandchildren.
