NAVASOTA Services for Robert Estes, 75, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.
The Rev. Darrell Nunley of Healing Waters Fellowship Church in Houston will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Estes died Tuesday in Bryan.
He was born in Hondo and was a farmer and rancher.
Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack Joe and Bobette Estes of Barrington, Ill., Henry and Juanita Estes of Memphis, Tenn., and Sam Estes of Hempstead; and a sister, Flora Estes of Houston.
Charlie Calvin Holcomb

MADISONVILLE Services for Charlie Calvin Holcomb, 91, of Madisonville are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Tabor Church of Christ.
Ralph Carter will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J.M. Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville.
Mr. Holcomb died Tuesday at Riverwood Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He was born in the Mt. Tabor community of Madison County and was a farmer. He served in the Merchant Marines and with the Civilian Conservation Corps, worked at the Madisonville Box Factory and picked cotton in Lubbock and Mississippi.
He served in the U.S. Army as a first machine-gunner with the Texas 36th Division during World War II. After the war he moved to Channelview and worked at Armco Steel. He retired after 26 years and returned to Madison County. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Forman of Madisonville and Geraldine Barbee of Corpus Christi; a brother-in-law, Paul Barbee; a sister-in-law, Mel Holcomb of Diboll; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie M. Balcar McDaniel

CALDWELL Services for Marie M. Balcar McDaniel, 88, of Caldwell are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dime Box Brethren Church.
The Revs. Dell Miller and Henry Beseda will officiate. Burial will be in Hranice Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
A devotional service, led by the Rev. Al Newby, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Ms. McDaniel died Wednesday in Burleson-St. Joseph Manor.
She was born in Deanville, attended school in the Hogg community and graduated from beauty school in Houston. She owned and operated one of the earliest beauty shops in Caldwell from 1940 to her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Caldwell SPJST Lodge and VFW Post 4458. She was a longtime member of the Dime Box Brethren Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Lillian Hogan of Caldwell; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Donald R. Minor

NAVASOTA Services for Donald R. Minor, 44, of Shiro are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Midway Baptist Church in Midway.
The Rev. L. Minor will officiate. Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.
Mr. Minor died Wednesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Shiro.
Survivors include two brothers, Perry E. Minor and George F. Minor; and two sisters, Mandy Lowery and Clara Butler.
Linda Mutschink

ROCKDALE Services for Linda Mutschink, 98, of Lexington are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington.
The Rev. Leif Hasskarl of St. James Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to the time of the services Sunday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Mutschink died Thursday at Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.
She was a lifelong resident of Lexington and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Mutschink; and a daughter, Lorene Schneebeli.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Vavra of Luling; and numerous grandchildren.

Services for Anna Persky, 87, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.
Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Persky died Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Cameron and lived in Bryan since 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was in the Womens Guild, the Altar Society, Senior Bowling Team and the Senior Friends.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lynette and Johnnie Kuder of College Station and Jacalyn Duncan of Alexandria, La.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or the St. Joseph School Fund.

A wake service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sweed died Tuesday in Trinity Medical Center.
He was born in Washington County.
Survivors include a son, John D. Sweed of Houston; a daughter, Petrina D. Sweed of Houston; three brothers, Charles Sweed, William Sweed and Clarence Sweed Jr., all of Washington; five sisters, Melva Walters, Elsie Johnson and Georgia Marks, all of Houston, and Blanche Williams and Vernando Sweed, both of Washington; his mother, Lula M. Sweed of Washington; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Watson died Saturday at his home.
He was born in Robertson County and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. He was retired and was a member and deacon at Stearne Chapel AME Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Watson.
Survivors include a son, Charles Watson of Bryan; two sisters, Dannie Dunn and Rosie Polk, both of Bryan; and numerous grandchildren.
