BRENHAM — Services for Ola Betts Casey, 100, of Brenham are set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Old Union Baptist Church in Old Union, Ark.
Burial will be in the Old Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mrs. Casey died Wednesday in Brenham.
She was born in Union County, Ark., and was retired from Western Union. She was the oldest member of Old Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Casey.
Survivors include three children, Ola Jane Martin of New Brighton, Minn., Margaret Batchelor of Corsicana and John Casey of Houston; a nephew, Bill Betts of Brenham; and eight grandchildren.
Lovi Jay Williams
Jan. 10, 1947 — March 10, 2003
Services for Lovi Jay Williams, 56, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Assemblage of Praise Church in Bryan.
Bishop M.C. Williams of Endtime Evangelistic Pentecostal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.
Mr. Williams died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Brady and lived in Bryan for 46 years. He was a custodian and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972. He was a graduate of E.A. Kemp High School and was a member of Endtime Evangelistic Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda N. Williams Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, Ocie L. Owens Williams of Bryan; two brothers, Bishop Melvin C. Williams of Bryan and Johnny L. Williams of Los Angeles; two sisters, Shirley F. Felder of Bryan and the Rev. Gwendolyn J. Williams of Pensacola, Fla.; his mother, Johnnie M. Williams of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie M. Balcar McDaniel
Feb. 5, 1915 — March 12, 2003
CALDWELL — Services for Marie M. Balcar McDaniel, 88, of Caldwell are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dime Box Brethren Church.
The Revs. Dell Miller and Henry Beseda will officiate. Burial will be in Hranice Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Ms. McDaniel died Wednesday in Burleson-St. Joseph Manor.
She was born in Deanville, attended school in the Hogg community and graduated from beauty school in Houston. She owned and operated one of the earliest beauty shops in Caldwell from 1940 to her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Caldwell SPJST Lodge and VFW Post 4458. She was a longtime member of the Dime Box Brethren Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Lillian Hogan of Caldwell; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Robert Charles ‘Bo’ Bain Jr.
Feb. 20, 1951 — March 9, 2003
CENTERVILLE — Graveside services for Robert Charles “Bo” Bain Jr., 52, of Centerville are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Centerville Cemetery.
The Rev. Larry Ashley of the First Baptist Church in Centerville will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
Mr. Bain died Sunday in Madisonville.
He was born in Teague and raised in Centerville. He graduated from Centerville High School, later moved to Marquez and returned to Centerville in 2001. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked as a janitor for a steel manufacturing business.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley J. Bain of Centerville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Norman Henry of Kennard and Connie and Wayne Guyton of Buffalo; eight nephews and a niece.
Lavone ‘Jim’ Cates

CALDWELL — Services for Lavone “Jim” Cates, 61, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
The Rev. Al Newby of the Caldwell Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Chriesman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Cates died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Success, Ark., and was a mechanical technician with Prater Equipment Co. in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Cates.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Cates of Caldwell; a son, Samuel Cates of Austin; three stepsons, William Soldat of Rockwall, David Soldat of North Carolina and Timothy Soldat of Brownsville; three daughters, Renia Akins, Darlis Hoelscher, and Deanna Zoschke, all of Oklahoma; a stepdaughter, Michelle Weesner of College Station; and 17 grandchildren.
Perry Lee McGhee

BUFFALO — Services for Perry Lee McGhee, 93, of Buffalo are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. McGhee died Wednesday in the Buffalo Nursing Home.
She was born in Berlin, Ga., and was a Methodist. She came to Buffalo from Houston and worked in the health care industry for many years and as a ward clerk in a hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Reid McGhee; and a son, Thomas Lee McGhee.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Joyce McGhee of Buffalo and David A. McGhee of Austin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Grace and Jim Walker of El Paso and Sara Walker of Houston; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Carline Colwell Marshall

MADISONVILLE — Services for Carline Colwell Marshall, 77, of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the 249 Church of Christ in Houston.
Bob Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenbriar Cemetery in Madisonville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Madisonville Funeral Home.
Mrs. Marshall died Thursday in Houston.
She was born in Madison County and lived in Houston since 1945. She was a homemaker and was a member of the 249 Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Day Marshall.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Marshall of Houston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ladelle Marshall Bebb of Houston and Janelle Marshall and Neil Walter of Oglesby; two sisters, LaVerne Van Shellenbeck of Austin and Elizabeth Ward of Madisonville; and four grandchildren.
Anna T. Hallaran

Services for Anna T. Hallaran, 86, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station.
The Rev. Mike Sis of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan and from 10 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the church.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hallaran died Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Dallas and lived in Bryan for more than 60 years. She was retired as a secretary and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She served as a docent for the George Bush Presidential Library, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Reserve Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hallaran Sr., and a daughter, Cynthia Ann Hallaran.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth S. Hallaran Jr. of Katy, Russell Hallaran of Bryan and David Hallaran of Houston; a daughter, Dianna L. Ray of Bryan; a brother, James F. Towns of Dallas; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
